“Yes. Have you ever seen a flip book? If you have a camera that takes pictures really fast, you can string them together like that and make a moving image.”

“You don’t have to; I can do it. I’m going to ask people a bit about themselves, then about the teleportation cycle and how they feel about it. We want to humanize us, then point out that we were literally kidnapped for the show.”

Alright, action!” Holding an imaginary microphone up to his mouth, he begins. “Hello everybody, my name is Nick Bryer. You may know me from the Teleportation game show; we’ll get to that. I don’t really have a way to prove my identity, but I’ll be supplementing these interviews with real footage from our experiences, selected and edited together by my AI assistant, SIMON.” The camera cuts to the rest of the group. “These are the other people who’ve been pulled from their worlds - against their will, I might add - and forced to fight to survive, unable to settle down. Over time, their machine has been taking more people; including one just recently, since after the last episode and the teleportation cycle they didn’t allow to actually be on the air. Again, we’ll talk about that later. First, I think you should get a chance to know us, without things being taken out. Who wants to go first?”

Nick can think of several questions about that - mainly about which parts are acting and which are actor. “Would you like to tell the audience about your show?”

We do have an agenda here, maybe you could mention how dystopian your world is, or I guess we could play up the whole ‘pulling random people from their worlds - some of them could be dangerous’ thing. Like, imagine if they tried to pull in a sapient from another biosystem - they’d explode into poisonous chemicals pretty much immediately.”

Aki watched curiously, wrapping his head around it. Not that odd at all really.

This newcomer lady was pretty strange though, she reminded him on Kabuki performances he'd seen.

Nick sighs. “I don’t know. I hope we can get you back to your world, but I don’t know if we can do it alone. I can’t think of any way to stop them from bringing us back, even if we steal the teleporter or something.” Nick snaps back into productivity. “But that’s what this is for! If we want them to let us go back, we’ll need support. Can we count on you?” he asks the camera. “Alright, do you have anything else to say?”

Laenor hesitated, then snapped back into character and gave the camera a big, cheesy smile. “Sandal for president!”
