The body did indeed come with you. It had a modern pistol, rifle, some boxes of extra ammo clipped to a belt, and a set of glasses that SIMON can tell contain an AI.

My name is Meryyn. With the construction of the Teleporter, myself and a few others were linked to those within the teleporting sequence. So, now, that includes you.

Nick takes the glasses and pistol, leaving the rifle. SIMON, knowing Nick would want it done, immediately tries to determine whether the AI is transmitting any information. Then Nick freezes. “Wait… if this is a computer age society, is there internet?”

Nick smiles. “See what you can do.” SIMON the proceeds to try to scan though the whole internet, but is stopped quickly. Wow. It’s so small. But it’s so slow. This is going to take forever… Using the comparatively minuscule bandwidth, SIMON looks up the teleportation game show and its address, ratings, schedule, and everything else available.
