If you first tried to separate the metal you removed, it would be noticeable that there was less flesh than there should have been if you were actually turning it back. It’d be a manageable amount with healing, though.

Yes, and the longer the metal has been there the less flesh is left, so his hand can be fixed this way but his shoulder cannot.

"Hmm." She hesitantly started taking the metal off again, scooping up the excess material into the bowl.

After a few minutes, she could see some of his actually arm. "Hey, it's working!" she said excitedly.

The closer she looked though, the more . . . wrong it seemed. Torn and bloody and bruised, not quite in one piece.

"Um . . . excuse me?" Aora said to the nurse, calling her over.

Ella rushed over.

She looked over the arm for a moment before rushing and grabbing some supplies.

She plopped down next to him and started to clean and bandage and his arm.

”This will probably sting.”

A flash of loss goes across his face. “Like Clair.” he says softly. Then he shakes himself out of it, “It’s physical revealing, right? I think I can help. Can you free this circlet from the corrupted spellsteel without damaging it or me? If you channel through it, you know what you can effect, and it helps your mind to understand it all.”

Ella quickly but carefully wrapped the break. She secured it with a small device. It made a small dinging noise as she stepped back.

”It’s started to work and it’s administering some painkilling and numbing agents to that area so it shouldn’t hurt as much. Let me know if you think it’s too tight or something is wrong.”

She glanced over the wrap one more time to make sure it was all secured correctly.

”Now aren’t there also some issues with your ribs?”

She looked up for a moment and noticed the sparks and her frown deepened.

The circlet was actually quite beautiful. She touched it and . . . well, she wasn't sure exactly how to "push magic into it," as the man had said. So she just used her magic normally.

She gasped.

There was something else that needed to be removed . . . something other than the metal.

Something darker.
