“Zelos. God of jealousy.”

God of Jealousy...not sure I like the sound of that.

Have you heard of him? How far is his reach?

I know of him, but only tangentially. I don't know if he is dangerous or not, or how trustworthy he is. I would advise caution in any case.

Noted.

"Well then, Zelos. If you help me get home, I'll get you the details of this..."deal." I have no love or trust for Saar...as long as you promise not to harm me or those with me, I'll hold up my end."

Zelos nodded. “I will not hurt you or those with you. I do not have much control though over traps and such set by builders of temples should you or your friends enter them.”

A portal opened next to him.

“This should take you back to your friends.”

That was...easy.

"How will I contact you once I have the information?"

Zelos held out a green chip.

”Your friend Insa can show you how to use it if you need help.”

"...Okay then."

Insa.

...She's not going to be happy.

He took the chip, nodded towards the well-dressed god, then stepped through the gateway.

Insanity Clinic: Library

The gateway dumped him right by the table everyone was sitting at.

Insa looked up from her tablet and froze.

"Well, it was nice to meet you," Aora said to Par. "I'm just going to . . . look around a bit more."

And with that, she walked away down the hallway.

"Um..."

Insa felt a whirlwind of emotion build up and immediately tried to shove it all back down.

She tried to keep her voice as even and emotionless as possible as she spoke.

”Where have you been?”

Aventine blinked. This person was new to her.

"I...wish I knew. I don't remember."

"Are you busy? Like do you have anything else you need to do?"

Bookwyrm blinked again.

"I don't think so...wait." He hesitated and looked around the library.

"Do you have any idea what happened to me?"

“No. I woke up one morning and you had left. No one knows where you went.” She snapped.

Bookwyrm sat down in a nearby chair.

"I wish I could tell you," Bookwyrm said. "I...have no memory of the last few months. Only a general sense of urgency...Astwyr couldn't find me either."

“Lerac, Aventine, this is Bookwyrm. The other person Saar wants to be involved in her deal.”

“Remember that scar Saar gave me?” She motioned to her neck. “Well it implanted some magic in me which then over time built up and in essence went rogue. Except instead randomly bursting out it just attacked me. It was pretty painful and I could barely move. And for a while I was that way. By myself. Cause you know. Eventually I got myself up and out where people started trying to help me.” She motioned to Lerac and his scar. “Lerac tried to help and ended up transferring whatever magic was in me to him. So now it’s in him and building up faster than it did in me. Saar offered to take it away and leave us alone if we got an item for her so she can end a family feud.”

Bookwyrm wasn't sure what to say. A pang of guilt flashed through him. He wasn't sure if it showed on his face or not.

The scar really was gone, though...at least there was that. Not that the problem was solved.

"Okay. ...I think something has come up, though." He pulled out the green chip.

"What sort of something?"

"I woke up in some world I'd never seen before on a strange stone pedistal...that's when I realized I had lost my memory. There was nothing but grass for miles, but I found a strange temple, and at the top, a god calling himself "Zelos". He...apparently knows Saar, and wants to give you a better offer."

Bookwyrm held out the chip for Insa. "He said you would know how to use this."

Do you want a description of Lerac or do you already know if?

Lerac nodded at Bookwyrm, and rubbed his neck again.
