A violent burst of energy threw the Darkness away from Thaidakar's soul. There were defenses around his soul, constructed of a power both ancient and malevolent.

But Darkness was (probably) more ancient than those defenses. The primordial force of Darkness held on, if not by a mere thread, and slowly tainted his soul, threatening to fade him out of existence.

Thaidakar cursed, fumbling to move. When he saw elan, he shoved a bright slash of red energy at him. Closing his eyes and letting himself sense the surroundings, he did his best to keep running. He turned into a dragon, soaring over the next few vehicles and landing with a crash, spraining his ankle.

He turned fully into dragon form, practically galloping through the darkness over the vehicles, smashing some of them.

The red energy turned black, absorbing into Elan, and his body gained a less ethereal look. An explosion blew around Elan, melting cars and chunks of rows and buildings into black energy, which absorbed into Elan as he chased Thaid.

KILL HIM

NO.

KILL HIM

no.

KILL HIM

No...

Elan's power over his own body failed, and the darkness took control. He dived, a black bullet surrounded by crackling white liquid energy, directly down at the dragon's head.

Pic smiled warmly at her, and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. Lundyn was still piggybacking on him, as her wing was injured and she wouldn’t be able to fly if she fell.

“So now what, we wait for the driver and then meet this guy who can track down the person who can get us home?” He hummed in a minor key.

Well that was attractive he thought. He then followed her advice, slowing the song down even further. He began to take large breaths to sustain the notes.

That should be it.

There was some smaller interactions, then they were blasted back in an explosion and they were falling for a while.

"No, I'm more ancient than you!" "Nuh uh! I'm more ancient than you!"
That's how I imagine an interaction between this Darkness and the Dark Entity (true name pending) going.

In Thaidakar's soul, the Darkness found itself looking at the shattered bits of a mirror on the proverbial ground, not beyond repair, yet... Each shard had a dark creature laughing in it. Only one shard, the largest of them, looked any different. With a halo of splinters around it, there was a man in the last shard. He was weeping over the body of a woman.

The man looked up through the shard and saw the darkness. His eyes were pure red. Thaidakar's essence was rent from the shard, sending the remains of the mirror flying as he burst from them. Thaidakar roared, grabbing the Darkness.

The Darkness was shoved from Thaidakar's soul. Thaidakar was human now ontop of the vehicle, grabbing the darkness around him with energy around his fingertips. Wrapping the darkness' energy around his palms, he sent a wave of power, throwing the darkness away from him. The sound of the explosion was only rivaled by the scream which stole its way from Thaidakar's thought .

Thaidakar turned, sensing the bullet coming at him. Thaidakar was one of the fastest beings in existence, since he was enhanced by the creature which granted him powers, yet he was not fast enough. The bullet hit him in the eye, shearing through his head and flying away from him. Thaidakar fell to the ground, his fist hammering into the roof of the hovercraft beneath him. The frightened occupant cursed, wobbling and attempting to knock him off, yet Thaidakar held on tight.

It formed into a shape that would scare thaidakar more than anything else. It formed into a reflection of Thaidakar itself, himself when he was not troubled, and approached him.

She wrapped one arm around his back. He felt that she was shaking a little.

The Being that was Elan whirled around quickly. He was hovering above Aventine and Pic, the edges of the building around him melting and absorbing into his body as more of the black liquid. The being glanced down at Elan's two friends.

We kill them. We kill them both.

At this, however, something in the Being stirred.

No.

YES.

NO.

YES.

NO.

For once, Elan won the battle, and for a moment there could be seen two entities, trying to pull apart from one another in the dark figure, one shadowy, the other a blinding white. Then the shadow melted back around the white, dampening it's light, and leaving only The Being.

The Being moved back towards Thaidakar, slower than before, taking its time. The world around it warped, melted, and swirled around its body. Finally, it stood behind Thaid, a swirling vortex of liquid shadow around itself, Thaid, and the Ancient Primordial Darkness.

He watched, helpless, as these beings of great power clashed above him. He knew his sheild would not work, so he tried a different preperation. He paused his song, and focused on what he wanted. He wanted Aventine and Lundyn safe. He wanted to take care of the both of them. He let those emotions guide his voice into a song, and trusted himself to do what was needed.

His voice stayed quiet, and began to hum a halting, jerking melody. It had hints of sadness, hints of hope, and most importantly, longing. The staves began to glow pink and slithered towards Lundyn's and Aventine's ankles. They wrapped around, mimicking a bracelet, and waited, thrumming with the music and pulsing with power. As Pic layered his music into a symphony with an untraceable tempo, the magic waited.

For in order to join a symphony, one merely has to sing.

Purdy!!!!!!!

A ripple appears next to Pic. It faintly forms the shape of Elan. His face is strained and would probably be red if the weak ripple had color. Don't stop. It's voice is less out loud, and comes more internally to Pic. Whatever you do. Even when the fight is over. Don't stop, until I tell you to. Just this once, please, please trust me.
