  1. I like your reason for him not becoming a skybreaker. Like many are saying maybe Nightblood will be able to choose his surges instead of having to adopt the way of the skybreaker. Though he does seem like a skybreaker shardblade, out to destroy evil. Plus Szeth already knows how to use the surge gravitation for what ever that's worth.
  2. I am actually very curious who Tashi is because of what Darkness said. This thread isn't marked with spoilers so I'll tag this quote: Makes me think Tashi is not Taln. My personal pet theory is that Tashi is currently the god-king of Tukari. Who is probably a former Herald, probably the Herald Jezrien. (as I am in the camp of those heralds that stayed have all become the opposite of what they stood for. Ten Heralds now equal the Ten Fools)
  3. It felt like the feruchemical ability of Connection we see in the Mistborn books. I like the idea that her Resonance is an ability we have somewhat seen other places in the cosmere. Similar to how various forms of lightweaving are seen throughout the cosmere. Maybe the Resonance is more of a passive ability like Connection, Fortune, Wakefulness, or something similar.
  4. Like groundhogs day.
  5. Who knows where that discussion is now, that might have been after WoK was released that I read that. A similar theory has it that all of the Heralds that stayed on Roshar, are now the opposite of what they were. The healer is now a murder (speculation that Vedel is one of the ardents helping King Taravangian kill people). Jezrien the former leader of the heralds, is now a slobbering gibbering drunk. Shallash who was the herald of art or what ever is now destroying all art with her face on it (and prob the assassian that Jesnah meets with).
  6. That may help. I am a big fan of the theory that every herald (besides Taln) was at that Parshendi treaty signing feast.
  7. Or, it was a worldhopper coming back to Scadrial via that shardpool. Perhaps a certain hunter. Or another SoScader that is coming home.
  8. I'm very interested in who the worldhopper was in the Allomancer Jak story. The guy she fights uses the curse word "Shadows", refers to a place known as "Helmore", and has a weird runic gun that her chromium Leeching power was able to effect that shot a ghost(?) that rusted and disintegrated the metal around the gondola. Any thoughts on where this person could be from?
  9. Here is a compiled together version of the broadsheet from BoM. http://i.imgur.com/R3JENFF.jpg Much easier to read this way.
  10. When Wax is running through the tombs / museum there is a brief mention of the bands of mourning. "... , or other relics such as a replica of both Harmony's Bands and the Bands of Mourning" p.306 us Hardcover So we know the next book is titled Bands of Mourning. Are these they the lord rulers metal minds? I'm interested to see where this goes.
  11. Naw, that's just his Herald abilities. WoB says that Heralds without their blade still have other things going on for them. That's how they are all still alive even though only one is confirmed to have gone back for his blade.
  12. I thought those were the first set of Parshendi getting their stormform. but after researching the quote: "Something was glowing on the plateau. Something that moved. It was hard to see, since water streamed off the side of the plateau above, falling in a sheet before their refuge. He swore he saw an enormous figure walking up there, a glowing inhuman form, followed by another, alien and sleek. Striding the storm. Leg after leg, until the glow passed." What I first assumed to be rank after rank of glowing parshendi, the first couple hundred that changed, seems to be two distinct lifeforms that are much bigger than a human or parshendi. Good find.
  13.   Think about Adolin's fight with Eshoni. She was feeling the thrill, while he had just gone through the revulsion and know fought with out the thrill's influence. So something interesting is going on there. And many figure that because Dalinar had a similar happen to him that this is proof that Adolin will become a KR.
  14. Taravangain talks about how the Thrill was so strong in Yah Kaved. This was probably because that was where Szeth hid the sphere that probablly contained 'Nergaoul' one of the unmade that he took from Gavilar in the form of that sphere. Is this how Gavilar won the Reunification wars, by having the trill on his side for his soldiers because he carried that sphere with him? Could that Unmade's influence also be felt all the way to the Shattered Plains? Thoughts?
  15. Is Dalinar's dream that he had in the end, that he thought was a Vision, an ability similar to the Mnemonic ability that the Lightweavers have, or the other abilities that the Radiants seem to have. From the Word's of Radiance quote epigraphs: "So Melishi retired to his tent, and resolved to destroy the Voidbringers upon the next day, but that night did present a different stratagem, related to the unique abilities of the Bondsmiths; and being hurried, he could make no specific account of his process; it was related to the very nature of the Herald and their divine duties, an attribute the Bondsmiths alone could address."
  16. my name is Releaser and I agree that it is not the Given name. the way I read it was that they didn't like that name cause it used 'bringers' in it that is similar to voidbringers. So people called them Releasers instead. I look at it like a guy named Sue. Some people will choose to go by their middle name, in this case its Releasers.
  17. I've seen a few of these Radiant diagrams but none had the herald's names, so I made an up-to-date one with the correct names of the Orders and Surges, additionally I added the names of the heralds that Brandon gave us recently. http://i.imgur.com/UHG8Rey.jpg Anything I missed or that you want me to add on? edit: sorry accidentally uploaded wrong version, its the 2nd thumbnail.
  18. Q: Did the mistress from the interlude in book 1 destroy the Shalash statue on the night of Gavilar's death? A: Yes, and also all the other ones that we've seen, including the one in Shallan's vision in Words of Radiance. Q: Is the mistress Shalash? A: RAFO. from Lexington signing
  19. We have WoB that we will see the Prologue chapter in all the first 5 books but from a different POV. so far we have seen, Nalan, Jezrien, and confirmed WoB that Shallash destroyed her statue the night of the assassination. There is also speculation that Nalan was talking to Kalak in the Prologue. So with the exception of Taln (or the man Brandon wants us all to think is not Taln) being the only herald that couldn't be there. Am I crazy? Thoughts?
  20. Regarding Squires: Do Squires get any surges, or is it just the bonus of speed / strength / healing from Investiture? Can a Squire move up the ranks and bond a spren and become a Knight Radiant? Or are Squires bonded to their Knight Radiant in the same way as the Knight's Radiant bond to their spren? also WoB says that investiture from various other shardworlds works differently when they world hop. Do the various invested objects (Nightblood, Shardblades, Scepter of the Moon, Hemalurgic Spikes) all change how they work when they go to a different shardworld? if so would Nightblood become a spren that is able to grant the Nahel bond?
  21. just found this on the theoryland database BRANDON SANDERSON (3 JANUARY 2011) The first wind is in the Mountains of Mist; I've always assumed this was a nod to Tolkien's Misty Mountains. BRANDON SANDERSONLook in The Way of Kings on the full map of Roshar for something similar. don't know if this helps at all. Just saw it and thought this info could help someone.
  22. When I first read that part I thought the exact same thing. But upon a re-read of that part it also kind of felt like it was him telling himself to duck. He makes no reference to how some awkward voice told him to duck. I also seem to remember that at some point when Adolin was dismissing and calling up his blade, he thought he heard a sigh of relief. Something like that. I've been looking for the quote, maybe I just imagined it in my sleep addled brain. If I find it i'll edit with the quote.
  23. Any time Kaladin was introduced to a new cousin of Lopen's who joined the crew. Something so funny about them just standing up saluting, and saying "Bridge Four".
