  1. I still see it as a Duel. It wasn't like a backstabbing, or Adolin ordering his soldiers to slit some throats. It was a 1 v 1 of a brutal nature. yea, it wasnt as refined as a Shard duel, but it was still a fair 1 v 1. I'm more interested in the "Adolin stood for a moment, staring Sadeas in the eyes, and then something finally snapped." line from the start of the fight. This was what made me originally think of Skybreakers, and their extra ability. But we have WoB that is not the case. I like the use of the word Snap, just like in Mistborn and all Cosmere books, you need to be broken to make room for the Investure.
  2. This leads me to think that maybe the nature of Nightblood has changed because it is on Roshar. If it is subject to the rules and laws of the world of Roshar, then maybe it changed, and the mind of Nightblood is now a spren that can use the Nahel bond in order to grant surges to someone of the Skybreaker Order.
  3. They are Ghostbloods, does GB = 17th?
  4. In the Lift interlude, after Lift is pardoned at the end, Nalan (Darkness) says " 'Praise Yaezir', he said 'Herald of Kings. May he lead in wisdom. If he ever stops drooling.' " So there is a clue as to who one of the Heralds be.
  5. personally, I want to know what is hiding under that mask. The other thing I thought of, is she a dragon like who Hoid was writing to in his letter (right?). I know that's wild speculation and whatnot. Buty why the mask, what alien features is she hiding. When Shallan finds out her name she specifically says "I've never heard one like that" To which Iyatil responds "Unsurprising" Edit: upon further investigation, The mask Iyatil wears is a half mask, with mouth and chin left exposed. So no dragonface in hiding.
  6. Is that Iyatil, that lady in the mask that is Mraize's boss?
  7. I seem to remember the Ghostbloods (or one of the secret societies, I forgot who) mentioning the dark sphere in passing, but saying that it didn't matter anymore. I assumed this to be, that the sphere Gavilar had would bring back the desolation, or was a spren a Listener(parshendi) needed to take smoke-form or something. But now that spren were bonding people again, the voidbringers were coming back.
  8. Sorry about the double post here, but I just ran across something interesting. on p. 587 "Adolin summond his Blade, then dismissed it, then summoned it again. A Nervous habit. The wite fog apeared - manifesting as little vines sprouting in the air - before snapping into the form of a Shardblade" The "manifesting as vines" sounds an awful lot like Lifts spren Wyndle. Perhaps Adolin's shardblade used to be of the Edgedancer order. Doesn't Kaladin say that his blade forms of the silvery mist, which is Syl's main form.
  9. I was wondering how the blade got from Zahel(Vasher) to Nalan. That would mean this Herald has something else going on besides what is happening on Roshar.
  10. I wonder what investing Stormlight and / or Breaths into an already Metallically charged Hemalurgic spike would do.
  11. I know that the Stonewardens are all about war, that was why I thought Adolin might become one. But with all the talk of Dueling for Adolin i wonder if there is an assassin aspect to the KR. They really beat us over the head with how amazing Adolin is at Dueling. Combine that with the possibility of challenging Odium with a champion. So I wonder if there is a 1 v 1 specialist among the orders of the KR. Similar to how they have healers (edgedancers / truthwatchers.), leaders (bondsmiths), police (skybreakers), spys (lightweavers), bus drivers (elsecallers)
  12. So does that mean a Knight Radiant with stormlight can consume allomantic metals and get the powers of that misting?
  13. What would happen if Hoid invested his breaths into Lerasium and then ingested / compounded the result? Is that possible?
  14. At first I was skeptical of Adolin getting powers, due to him not hearing a scream when he picked up Oathbringer after killing Sadeas. But after re-reading the Dalinar conversation with the Stormfather, Dalinar uses the Shardblade to cut open the trapdoor and it does not scream in his head. It is not till after he said the oaths and bonded the Stormfather that he heard the screams in his head. so there is still hope. I know Dustbringers is the consensus for Adolin, But what about Stonewardens? They are all about war right? Thoughts?
  15. Did any of the worldhoppers from the Purelake interlude in WoK show up in WoR?
  16. personally I think that Nohadon was a Bondsmith. Which would make sense as he was known as the King of Kings or something like that.
  17. I just took that to be part of the ability of Adhesion that Windrunners get. Syl said she is a bindspren. Similar to how he can bind a rock to the wall. I'm curious to see if Kaladin can use his power to rebind dead limbs of his bridgecrew. Get Hobber his legs back.
