  1. This was the WoB. Q: The ending of Mistborn was hidden in the first chapter epigraphs. Is there something similar to that in The Way of Kings A: There is, but they are hidden in different places. The last chapter of the Stormlight Archive is somewhere in these two books.
  2. Sadeas remarked on seeing Highprince Hatham riding a Ryshadium. When he threw the Gemheart at him. "... then rode toward a figure in resplendent Shardplate at the front of Hatham's army: the highprince himself, seated upon a Ryshadium. ..." p348 US Hardback
  3. I'd love to see someone ask more about Radiant Squires. - are they the first step of becoming a KR and bonding a spren? - or are Squires bonded to the KR the same way a KR is bound to a Spren? - Do they get any surges, or is it just the bonus of speed / strength / healing from Investiture? Also, a question based on this WoB: Q: If Nightblood were on Roshar would he be a Shardblade? A: Yes, they are exactly the same thing. He is a Shardblade that is twisted and is a lot more powerful than normal. Brandon said that things from other worlds work differently when not on their native planet. Would nightblood turn into a Spren-blade and be able to grant surgebinding powers since WoB says that Nightblood is a shardblade?
  4. I thought he was talking about the map with the Runes on it. with the note from Nazh on where Shallan landed. http://brandonsanderson.com/beta/wp-content/gallery/stormlight-2-maps-and-illustrations-2/WoR_MAP-FROSTLANDS_v02_fmt.jpeg There seems to be a lot of runes and whatnot. I think some of you translated it already though.
  5. “They come from the pit, two dead men, a heart in their hands, and I know that I have seen true glory.” Shallan and Kaladin coming out of the Chasms with the Gemheart “I see them. They are the rocks. They are the vengeful spirits. Eyes of red.” a great one predicting the Anger spren with red eyes lurking around watching.
  6. Just found this little nugget that the Rysadium and the Radiants are tied together.
  7. Remember that Pattern said that only one Cryptic was sent. So I don't think that he is a Lightweaver. But something fishy is going on.
  8. "Smokeform for hiding and slipping between men. / A form of power, like human Surges. / Bring it ’round again. / Though crafted of gods, / It was by Unmade hand. / Leaves its force to be but one of foe or friend." - Song of Histories, 127th stanza "Smokeform for hiding and slipping ’tween men. / A form of power—like Surges of spren. / Do we dare to wear this form again? It spies. / Crafted of gods, this form we fear. / By Unmade touch its curse to bear, / Formed from shadow—and death is near. It lies." - Song of Secrets, 51st stanza They seem the same but very slightly different. From two different epigraphs in WoR. These epigraph's seem to support the smokestone = unmade spren ready to take over a Parshendi.
  9. "We don't know they will come," Eshonai said to Resolve. "we don't know any of this. Who knows if men even have Surgebindings - it might be one of the Honorblades. We left one in Alethkar that night." P.204 WoR US Hardback This line made me wonder. Were they talking about Szeth, did they give him the Honorblade the Listeners had? Were they even talking about Szeth. What if Nin went back and got his after Szeth left Shinovar. Knowing the Desolations were returning he had to buff up and go get his old job back.
  10. We've seen a regrowth fabrial, and a Soulcaster (transformation fabrial) maybe we will see 10 fabrials that will match the powers of the knights radiant. So non-surgebinders can fight the Desolation's as well.
  11. 10 Surges 10 Essences 10 Passion 10 Fools 10 Unmade 10 Heralds 10 Kingdoms 10 Body focus 10 Soulcasting properties 10 Gemstones 10 Divin Atributes (x2) What else?
  12. That make sense, if you think about Rock seeing Hoid pop out of one of the pools.
  13. Oops mistyped, I meant Kaladin. I was referring to the Spren talking to Relis accusing him of killing it. Because it was Kaladin who touched the blade and "woke it up" maybe.
  14. Something that struck me. Was at the end of the Adolin and Kaladin vs 4 duel. When Adolin does the Lastclap on Relis: "Relis dropped the Blade as if bitten. He backed away, raising his had to his head. 'What is it? What is it! No, I didn't kill you!' " then he ran away screaming What if that Spren just needed CPR of sorts. I do like the idea of using Breath to re-awaken them.
  15. Your totally right about the Parshendi. They had the spren then humans came and the spren liked them more. Aimians... I don't know. The world with Bacteria magic? The Vadens and their Eyelashes sound like something else too.
  16. Something about Roshar and its abundance of investure tell me that all these different peoples are from other planets in the Cosmere. If the Iriali are from Nalthis, the planet of Warbreaker then maybe the exposure to the constant investiture is what makes their hair and skin gold like a returned. If Horneaters are descendants of the dragon folk from the Dragonsteel world that would make sense. Maybe other races like the Parshendi and the Shin are from other planets. Even the religion of Vornisim teaches that the Vorin people got pushed out of their home in the "tranqueline halls" and now they fight to get it back. combine that with what we know of Damnation and it most being likely the other planet in the Roshar system that Rayse / Odium is on, as well as all the Worldhoppers that are very interested in Roshar. something fishy going on here
  17. The way he's talking about Mistborn 3, it sounds like its going to be a Star Trek SciFi book, where they gather up all the invested folk who can use the powers of their shard from the various planets, and bring them to a big war or something awesome like that.
  18. This is the start of the Laral - Kaladin - Shallan - Adolin love diamond. Kal's gonna come flying in looking like a Boss. And fat limpy Roshone is gonna crap his pants and Laral is going to be very high up on Kaladin's jock. But I wonder what sort of reaction Lirin is going to have when he see's his son is a Radiant.
  19. I had originally thought that the only people that Ryshadiums will bond are potential Knights Radiant. If Investiture is involved in some way, then you know there is something else going on. This could be a good sign for Adolin being able to become a Radiant. But his Ryshadium's death could be the foreshadowing of him going to the dark side of the force.
  20. I dont know if this is a squire find. But I came across this in my re-read before WoR came out. This is from after Dalinar saved Kaladin and his men after they used parshendi bones for the first time in tWoK. "The Shardbearer's honor guard caught up with him. He turned, armor seeming to glow as he raised his Blade in salute of respect toward the bridgemen." That always stuck with me as him glowing. I dont know if it was some of Kaladins Windrunner magic working on those who acted with Honor on a battlefield he was in. Or Dalinar showing his own Surgebinding for the first time. I got my eye out for similar glow bombs as I call them. I seem to remember seeing a few more of those causally dropped in there.
  21. I thought it was regarding the line from Hoids part of the letter "Let me first assure you that the element is quite safe. I have found a good home for it. I protect its safety like I protect my own skin, you might say." this is what lost me.
  22. Kaladin in the prison going all emo again. I had thought we had got past emo Kal.
  23. Maybe that is whats in that dark sphere that Gavilar had. Perhaps its something Wit gave him to gain power to win the battle to come? Personally I think that it was a voidspren in the sphere, but it seems to be more important than a simple Spren that a parshendi would need to change to shadowform or something like that.
  24. I seem to remember Teft saying that something didn't hurt as bad as it should, in tWoK, and Skar did fight well during the battle at the tower despite being shot in the foot with an arrow. Maybe this is our first sighting of squires in action. We all want to see the Lopen get a spren cause we know that will be amazing banter. I hope someone going to a signing asks Brandon if Squires can become Radiants, or if once your a Squire then you are bonded to that radiant instead of a spren.
  25. From the last paragraph of the book - ' "You'll find God in the same place you're going to find salvation from this mess," Wit said. "Inside the hearts of men." ' sounds an awful lot like hes referring to the small part of honor and cultivation that are apart of all mankind. Similar to a single breath. or in Mistborn when we find out that Preservation put a peice of herself into all the people on that world.
