  1. I hope that most of Kaladin's back story gets left to the imagination. The only thing I am even remotely interested in is the Tarah thing. As too Shallan I'd say that the bulk of that would come out when she meets her brothers again and she lets slip that she killed their mother. Szeth's back story will probs start with him declaring that the Desolation was coming, or whatever he did to make himself Truthless, proceed through the trial, if he had one, then end with him being picked up by the Parshendi.
  2. Yes. Me and that game are old friends. Though I suck at those games so my high score is only like 6000 I think. My nephew the prick got to 10000 before I kicked him off and told him "if you enjoy having testicles I suggest you cease playing this game." He laughed at me.
  3. Are you aware that he an lift 10 tonnes?
  4. See now I didn't take Odium for any benign reason because I personally don't want a Shard. But if someone was forcing me then I want a Shard that has been proven to be able to Shatter Shards. With that power I would wreak such destruction on the entity that was forcing my hand, that the Desolations would like no more than a peaceful protest. If I had to annihilate several planets and civilisations to do so then so be it. I've also been told by close friends and family that if I ever get superpowers that I have to tell them so they can get out of the country because they think that the first thing i'd is go on a killing spree. Not sure if they are wrong but I did promise to tell them. So I don't know. Asked my best friend of 13ish years what Shard would best suite my personality and he said Odium almost instantly. He is somewhat Cosmere aware. If not that one then Dominion apparently.
  5. Aww and you are talking to us.
  6. Well then we would be left with the stronger. Unless the other Brandon was the evil twin and he won the fight to the death. Then we would be left with the evil twin who would refuse to write long novels and would only release short stories that got steadily worse until no-one read the books anymore. Thereby realising his plan for forum domination.
  7. Interesting question there. Aren't Valyrian blades the only swords that the others are afraid of, aside from dragonglass/obsidian which reads more as an allergic reaction than anything else. So wouldn't that imply that they are minorly Invested? Such Investment would allow them to resist Shardblades, though not for very long I'd say.
  8. If I was offered the choice it would have to be no, but if I was forced to choose then it would either be Odium, to eradicate those that forced me into godhood, or Ruin, for more or less the same reason.
  9. Sell. There are many things Mr Sanderson will write about. But a character committing suicide... I doubt it. There will be a scene in book 5 involving both Wit and Zahel.
  10. Well this is ridiculously easy. Team leader. Jezrien. He has led humans against several Desolations. Zombies would be a walk in the park for him. Brawler. Talenel. He has led humans against several Desolations. Zombies would be a walk in the park for him. Weapons specialist. Kalak. He has led humans against several Desolations. Zombies would be a walk in the park for him. Brains. Battar. She has led humans against several Desolations. Zombies would be a walk in the park for her. Medic. Vedel. She has led humans against several Desolations. Zombies would be a walk in the park for her. Speed fighter. The Flash. ( thought I was gonna use another herald didn't you ) But Speed force. OP. Mascot. Me. I'm more or less useless compared to these guys but I would listen to them so would hopefully survive. Guy who dies first. The Doctor. The people who have listed him in other roles are ignoring his real power. Re-incarnation. I would want the 1st Doctor so I knew that I had 13 lives to spend before I died ( because let's face it I would be next on the list. I could have used a Herald but when they die they leave the planet, The Doctor does not. ) I may have gotten the three last Heralds wrong. Battar is the Herald of Elsecallers? Vedel Edgedancers? and Kalak Willshapers? Regardless those are the Heralds I want.
  11. So Philly is Philadelphia, yes? Which is a city? As to the rest of it its obviously you, you are forever cursed to be a fan of the losing team( add random face thingy that magically turns this into a joke).
  12. Elantris for me. I read it after I found Mistborn in my library. My library only had book 1 and 2 of the Mistborn trilogy so I read it after those 2. I liked the book well enough but I remember not really liking any of the characters, or at least none of the main ones, I just couldn't really bring myself to care if they lived or died. Galladon was amusing enough but Raoden's optimism annoyed me. I also found Sarene's a bit meh. The main evil priest guy, can't remember his name, the resolution to his arc was cool though. Killing someone with something they didn't think they gave you. Priceless.
  13. OK. In regards to the Heralds being less 'powerful' ( efficient, whatever that word doesn't matter ) than Surgebinders. We know from Sel that a Splintered Shard makes the Cognitive Realm dangerous. Yet we see Jasnah and Shallan casually wander into the Cognitive Realm with no real negative side effects. We also have a WoB that the reason this is is because the Spren act as a kind of release valve for the energy released by the Shattering of Honor. Which leads me to my question, are the Spren more powerful now that Honor is dead? If so what is the effect to the Nahel Bond? Does this make today's Surgebinders more powerful than those that existed previously?
  14. If a Feruchemist was Storing Health in a Goldmind while he got stabbed with a knife, would he become more injured than if he weren't Storing?
  15. Lol. You couldn't pay me to take that cursed throne. Let the little lords of the south fight over the throne, that's not a game I wish to be involved in. By food I meant grass. Everything else is secondary really because once the Others show up hopefully, hopefully, the king, whoever that is, would come north to help. They wouldn't need to send many men, it's fruit and veg that I would want. With grass I would be able to feed goats and sheep. With them I have milk, cheese and meat. With the villages I was more thinking of the future of the Wall and my people. They would be able to feed the Wall for many generations and provide the Watch with people to man them. Ahh, so that's who Bloodraven is. I would be helping Bran get there so I really doubt that he would have cause to harm me. Hodor would literally become the most powerful warrior in all the lands with my help. I would love to see Bran warg Hodor while Hodor was in a set of Shard. The carnage he would bring to a battle field would be spectacular.
  16. Varys wants peace, Tyrion has no real power, Littlefinger is only concerned with himself, not sure who Bloodraven is and The Iron Bank would not bother me. Tywin has demonstrated twice that Kingslanding doesn't really care about the wall. They only care for their little game of thrones. If I didn't make any motions to move south, which I wouldn't, then they wouldn't bother me. The only time I would move truly south with any force would be if Daenerys came. At which point there would be dragons in Weteros again. If I didn't make it clear I only want to stop the Others. Nothing else would really matter to me. If they came in force I would still have 3 Shardbearers and we all know how powerful they are. I would also fortify the Walls castles on both sides. If I could I would take one of the Others captive and when any king came to kill me show them it and ask 'do you really want to kill the man with the means to stop them? Also just because I came before winter means nothing really, food still grows during winter, albeit slowly, and north of the Wall has plenty of food. The wildlings were bringing all of theirs and I get some from my starter pack. Which would include herds of sheep and goats. Both well able to survive in that area through winter with only some small assistance from man. I'm sure that a lot of my people would die but as the starks so famously say 'Winter is coming' or if you prefer what Arya says now 'Valar Morghulis' 'All men must die'
  17. I'm assuming I have the knowledge of book 5. Delay + 25 points as I don't particularly are about Ned. He bought his death upon himself. Emnity + 25 points definitely the Greyjoys 300 points 10000 Alethi soldiers - 100 points 4 sets of Shard - 100 points 4000 Alethi peasants - 20 points 1000 craftsmen - 20 points 5 spanreed pairs - 10 points political goodwill - 25 points Nights Watch Fabrials - 10 points Soulcaster - 15 points Land at the Wall after the Watch goes beyond the wall to stop Mance rayder. Take it over and move my people in. Set up my peasants in The Gift. By this time no-one in the south would really have time to deal with me and would lack the men to dispose of me. I wouldn't antagonize any of them. Except when I went beyond the Wall when Mance gets there and tell, "yep definitely. Go right through." Take as many as he would give me for the Wall and set the rest up in the Gift. to help establish farmland more than anything. As they were setting up the new villages though my army would be training them how to fight as a army. intercept Bran and give Hodor a set of Shard, mainly for the lols but also because Bran is obviously very important and I would like him to be protected. Give him 20 men to take him where he needs to go and protect him. While this is happening my craftsmen, with the Soulcaster to give them the raw materials to do it, would be repairing the other castles on the Wall which would be manned by the new members of the Watch along with my own men. I would send 4 bands north of the wall to wait with my Spanreeds to watch for The Others. The fabrails would be the heating Fabrials which would be taken by the bands north of the Wall to keep them warm without flames betraying their presence. Once they spot The Others, they were to warn me and make straight for the Wall. Send the last Spanreed to The Mother Of Dragons and ask her whats taking so long, I would then get daily updates as to the well-being of her and her dragons. My last Shard would be taken to her and given to her so that she can see I am to be trusted and to help keep her safe. More than likely it would be give to The Bold but that is perfectly alright with me. Once she gets to Westeros I would send my wildling army to help her get to the Wall, assuming The Others have come, if not help her win Westeros. Then get her to march her pretty little behind to the Wall and defend it with me. When Stannis arrives I would tell him in no uncertain tones that he is there at my sufferance and if he wishes to fight tell him to look at my new friends the giants. He would at realise he has no power there. Mellisandre would more than likely try to kill me with her magic if she had the chance so I wouldn't give her that chance and would walk up to her summoning my Blade as I did killing her as soon as I reahed her. Stannis would object obviously but not for long. Then well I guess the Others arrive but hopefully by then Bran is a fully realised Warg/Greenseer and would be able to help. Along with 3 dragons and some 100,000 men and women manning the Wall in all the castles which are fully manned and repaired. Waiting would be boring but hopefully they would arrive as my preparations ended.
  18. Who cares if it makes you seem ignorant. At least you will be able to be told that which you do not know. Oh and welcome to the forums and all that jazz. ( why is it 'jazz'? things like this have always confused me, much like how most social interactions between *shudders* humans confuse me. )
  19. I can read all his books, Cosmere and non-Cosmere in 3 days. I have done so on several different occasions. Thought this is when I don't need to work or go to school. If I do and I don't take longer than 14 hours doing such things then it takes me a whole week to finish them. Yay for insomnia.
  20. I'd say it breaks there own laws.
  21. I'm pretty sure that Honor was Splintered after the Heralds forsook the Oathpact.
  22. @ Cartith. I upvoted because you made me laugh. @ Traceria. How dare you root for C9!! ( insert face thingy that magically turns this into a joke. Is it an emoticon? They confuse me. )
