Brandon Tweaking Words Of Radiance
AerionBFII replied to Kelsier Kenobi's topic in Stormlight Archive
Soooooo do i need to spend more money on this Book again? I've spent like £40 on this book alone with the Audio + Hardback and now every time i read it i feel like i have to wiki it so i don't read it wrong.. Don't get me wrong im not throwing a fit, Brandon produces more books than anybody else i've heard of and it's his book anyway but i get a twitchy feeling when i have a faulty book.. -
He is obeying the rules and laws of his people. He's not surrendering responsibility, he is fighting an internal struggle, He once broke the laws of his people and this is his punishment, to obey the Oathstone, he is heavily conflicted a Truthless has no value in the eyes of his people he is scum. He is punished for a crime he is not actually guilty of.. He needs such an outlet and his views are skewed since he can't seem to do right, nobody is more sickened than he is by what he's done. I find it interesting because he flawlessly obeys the rules and laws of his people, what drives him mad is that the more time he spends in Roshar he starts to question the laws that are binding him, i don't think it is easy to just cast off everything you were raised to believe and laws you were raised obeying.

Very it seems to me. She's been up to all sorts of stuff while hubby has been out of town... I think Szeth should just walk free, im not fussed about how he needs to be punished. Knowing BS Seth will eventually redeem himself but die heroically to atone for his crimes.. Desolation seem like an invasion/war not just a battle but a series of them. Haha i was trying to describe this to a friend basically an Apocalypse war.
-
That is amazing! +1 Thanks for sharing that! I spent a lot of time debating Szeth's actions but it will be one of those things with numerous arguments and no real answer.. We should make a Vote haha
-
To Szeth though he has not committed any crime. His punishment is to obey whomever holds his Oath Stone. He obeyed. It drove him insane and unhinged him, he hated every second of it and he still obeyed. Hmmmm, he's being convicted of a crime he did not commit and punished by the laws of his people AKA the Oathstone. He abided by his peoples laws of always obeying despite it driving him insane, I find him more a philosophical puzzle than somebody who is evil/a criminal/murderer.

Are you serious? Szeth is awesome! Can't wait for his Skybreaker arc and his revenge. I had myself all geared up to read Szeth but im glad it was Dalinar if it HAD to be changed... Kaladin is a great read, Im looking forward to his return home seeing his parents and Laral and then his visiting Kholinar arc.

He is a great character, with a really relatable and common problem that seems to be all but ignored in most fantasy series. He has obstacles to overcome and his character growth isn't yet complete and his arc has really just started..

Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
AerionBFII replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
Kaladin always feels much older than Adolin despite the later being a few years older whenever i read SA, i love how Brandon has factored that in. I'd go into more detail but @Battar has already nailed it +1. Loved it. The whole reason BS factored in Shardplades not physically cutting humans is because when he was writing the prologue to WOK it was majorly bloody and gory but it was nice to see Dalinar as "Intense" and as blood thirsty as everybody claimed. I never thought BS would crank it up this much and i like it. -
Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
AerionBFII replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
Loved it. Just as how i pictured him, single minded, relentless, intense and superbly in the grip of the thrill. I always pictured him as a sort of Warhound that Gavilar pointed in a direction and said "GO!" and by god he went...Im honestly excited to see him progress into the man he is today. That will be the highlight of this book. -

I think all magic systems can be used on other shard worlds but its more like a life hack/ patchwork job. -
Why do harmony need spikes to talk to people anyway?
AerionBFII replied to king of nowhere's topic in Mistborn
Its a shame they cant speak through a bluetooth headset instead of impaling themselves with metal but maybe its more of a direct connection.. -
I LOVED this scene....I had been thinking the same thing about the creatures in Roshar for two books..Then Hoid says it...

Stakes in the Stormlight Archive (buncha WoR spoilers)
AerionBFII replied to DSC01's topic in Stormlight Archive
- Well if they lose Odium is free....Then Shards start dying. - Szeth has teamed up with a psycho Herald and is no longer crippled and weakened by his guilt, this makes him less a frothing at the mouth slave and far more lethal opponent. - So far there is what 6 KR vs how many Voidbringers and like 10 Unborn? Should be easy. -Character Armor? This is the author who killed off Lightsong, Kelsier, Vin, Eland and BELLA!! I think Stone Shamans are more like holy warriors than anything, they will use violence if they have to but retrieving Honor Blades is there main objective keeping casualties and witnesses to a minimum. The fact that they held like 8 Honor Blades with such power for so long but nobody on Roshar (except for a few individuals) new is testament to there discretion. -

wow! just wow!! I feel i should be able to Upvote you more than once?? Some amazing theories here on this thread, you will know which ones i mean when you see them posted in the Forum and claim they're my own LOL I think the grudge Hoid holds against Bavadin and Rayse predates them claiming their Shards. Brandon once said that Bavadin was one of his favorite Shard Holders and said Hoid and Rayse were once friends..So going off that i assume it was something they did that ticked him off not that they are Shardholders. It also sort of makes sense Adolansium in it's complete form would balance itself out, 8 facets with two extremes balancing itself out. SOS Spoilers:

It has already been stated that Harmony can't do whatever he wants, he finds it difficult to interfere as it is. I doubt it is as simple as that, say Lessie did survive and Wax finds out she was a Kandra how would he react to that? I believe Saze/Harmony foresaw the future and picked the best option available, Wax was hurt but nobody knows how things would play out if things had taken a different turn. I personally agree with what you said about BloodyTan and him being controlled by 'Trell'. It seems to me though that to be 'Harmony' you would be more interested in seeing the whole picture running in Harmony than the life of one man. * sorry I accidentally down voted you scrolling on my phone could some body up vote cognitivepulsepattern :|

Cant wait for the set to spike themselves in their attempt to become Mistborn....Then Harmony makes them do the Hokey Pokey and jump off a cliff~~~
