Brandon Tweaking Words Of Radiance
AerionBFII replied to Kelsier Kenobi's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think i can ever really adapt to the changes. I bought the Audio and a Hardback. No matter how many times i tell myself it's different i always remember what happens in the book as cannon, rather than reading changes on the website.. -
Do they still not have souls? Even on Roshar?!?!?!
-
LOL!! Ever wonder how he lost it?
-
There is a WOB that Brandon said it's all about perception, Kal doesn't see himself as Lighteyed so he's not. It's why he still has his scars because he cant see himself without them. Lopen on the other hand never really accepted himself as one armed so his started to grow back.
-
Yeah in Shinovar things work differently, before his Truthless status im guessing he was some sort of StoneShaman or something. Kal is the only Dark eye main character... except for the two hours after he uses his Shardblade...then he's back to his usual lovable cranky self

Elend is stronger but really Kelsier is more naturally gifted with quicker reactions and seriously... as if he'd fight fair anyway haha

Theory: Stormfather is both a sliver and a splinter
AerionBFII replied to 50Metals's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ever have one of those days where you think.....Im so out of my league...? I think he's just a reflection of Tanavasts lingering intent, like a shadow given identity..maybe even a little corrupted like the Heralds.. -
I agree i think he was always above average intelligence and used being an idiot to give him a bit of an edge..

Vision by X-Ray Dog.....epicly sad Kaladin scene.... -
[1] I totally agree! Amaram is a very important character, since he is in possession of a supposed Heral and a top member of The SON's he totally screwed over Kaladin and had important tie to Dalinar's 'saintly' brother, they both deserve a crack at him but i believe the wrong he did Kal was worse, so i'd give them joint responsibility but Kal gets more share haha [2] No it will be better to give them both joint perspective, Shallans search for the truth and her reaction to finding out the truth and Kals reaction to finding out she knows and them both coming to terms over it. This will be one of the points that put a strain on the group. [3] Dalinar will be the figure head and leader but Kal will be the more active of the two, especially for the Dark eyes. [4] The Shallan thing was meant as a joke haha, i not undervaluing her or her work, i wont claim to love Shallan herself but i enjoy her arc and the Ghostbloods interactions especially.
-
Coming face to face with Amaram who slaughtered his comrades? Seeing how he is the one who killed Shallans brother facing her? That arc i would say that's for both of them to be majorly involved in. I think there is plenty for him to do.. I never said he was more important i just meant he would be the Vanguard of their group, im not arguing that he is more important but he is just as important. Kal is the Fighter and the symbol, Dalinar the figure head, the glue that holds them and Shallan who...spies? lol No but they are all as important as each other.

Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
AerionBFII replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah i mean Gavilar confided in MR.T and Amaram rather than his two most trusted (Sadeas + Dalinar) during his Throne building days. He kept this from his brother which must have taken some doing. I can't find the quote but Navani tells Dalinar that Gavilar is frightened of him or scared of him or something. I think that was the peak of his life with the Thrill riding him, like we saw in the flashback. -
Brothers huh? But when a guy tells a bunch of Religious fanatics that he is actually their god and this is what they need to do.... I think Szeths conscience is clean now, the screams have stopped, he died and was reborn. A clean Slate, i think he is meant to be a Skybreaker. Skybreakers seem a different side to the same coin to the Windrunners which suits his relationship to Kaladin quite well. They do what is Law, rather than whats right, where as Windrunners are to do whats right and think Laws don't matter. [1] Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. [2] I will put the law before all else.

Kaladin will be going to his home, having all that Laral + Roshone nastiness to deal with as well as a family reunion. He has got to swing by the capital, which is currently in riots, thanks to the church + Dumb queen. Oh wait then a Radiant comes walking in, im sure the Ardants will just step aside and let him waltz around. He has the rest of his oaths to swear. Battles to fight against the Voidbringers. Squires to train from Bridge Four. Meeting Lift (shut up. It WILL happen) He is also Team Dalinars best fighter. Im sure he could just step aside for the last battle though seeing how their is no longer any need for him to grow though.

Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
AerionBFII replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
Dalinar has put him on a pedestal, Navani seems to have a very different opinion on him. I think he wasn't half as great as Dalinar thinks he is.... Most likely he was a little shady and was a little frightened by Dalinar. -

I liked the old version were Kal swung and Szeth just dropped his guard and realized that he gave up. It just seems better. -
I fail to see why he should, I'd rather see him redeem himself for what he's done than say jail time or the death penalty. What about Adolin driving a knife through Sadeas' eye? Dalinar slaughtering men? Jasnah assassinating Ghostbloods members, Shallan murdering her father. Where can you draw the line? All im saying is that he is following the orders of his Oathstone. Which to the Shin is a law, he is nothing but scum in their eyes and those of his peers for "falsely" announcing the return of the Voidbringers, if he just stopped following it would be seen by the Shin as skipping out of his punishment. He has never once enjoyed killing people, it has driven him insane. That is the Punishment. He is being torn apart by it, let him redeem himself instead of punishing him more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kal is awesome. Nuff said

Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
AerionBFII replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
You nailed it sir. I always thought of Gavilar as the charmer or the figurehead the glue that held it together, handsome, skilled in arms, charming. Sadeas was the cunning, crafty, plotting saboteur with the underhanded schemes and Dalinar was the relentless Warhound. Intense and intimidating. If Gavilar couldn't charm you or Sadeas couldn't blackmail you. Dalinar would crush you. I think he lived up to expectation that Brandon was building. Im confused by everybody who seems surprised by what he was like, we have been told what he was for two books now.. He was a product of the times he lived in, the guy who we see now is a man who is in his twilight years. He has been a younger Brother, Warlord, Father, Widower, Leader and an adviser and is a legend. He has mellowed out and become wiser, he's learned he can untie a knot instead of cutting it in half with his sword. Im so excited to see his transformation into the man he is.. -

I agree. I think it says "Highspren" on Coppermind. I think Szeth is not yet a Skybreaker but that's what he will be, they seem more into following the rules than doing what's right.

Why? He's been screwed over at every turn, im just hoping the guy catches a break..
