  1. Honestly super tempted to vote on TJ. Want to try to reread the thread and do actual analysis first, but the way he's talking about the number of smokers seems very eliminator to me. TJ, it reads like you are trying to get all of the Smokers to reveal themself, in order to narrow down kills for seeker hunting. I have not seen an actual source for the claim of 8 people claiming Smoker, and I think that number was effectively made up/exaggerated into existence. I do not beleve that 8 people all honestly claimed Smoker to the same person, so while i accept a high number of smokers in the game, 8 specificaly feels like mis information.
  2. Honestly i'm a bit hesitant to accept the idea that so many smokers have claimed. I worry that the number is an exaggeration. I think we should also stop roleclaiming, to let the power roles hide.
  3. Honestly with this many Smokers i'm starting to think the Elims did steal the coinshot, and are just hoping the village Smokers protect them on accident. I'm now in favor of all Village Smokers taking no nightly actions. (I don't regret posing the hypothetical of donating infinite smokers to the village during sign-ups if you're wondering.)
  4. The following is the 18 posts currently made by Ookla the Broken (aka Broken Aether (aka IHadAThought)) If you're not interested in that, don't open the spoiler TL;DR: I'm leaning towards Ookla the Broken being a Village Smoker. Now then, I'm going to go burn down John's house. Does anyone have a preference on what flavor of muffins they want me to cook afterwards?
  5. Ah. I did my math wrong. Oops. hmmmm, i want to think about this more, but this post gives me eliminator vibes. i highly doubt its 3 elim thugs, just because that sounds boring.
  6. Given the prevalence of Smokers, I'm guessing the Eliminators have either a Thug or a Mistborn, The village has a Tineye, seeker, rioter, soother, and 8 smokers. I suspect there are no Lurchers or Coinshots in the game. That would be a somewhat boring game, but fairly safe. I want to say something about the current state of the Vote, but tbh I was expecting 48 hours to be able to do analysis, and I'm not going to change my plans to do analysis now when it's only day 1. Suffice to say I'll leave my vote where it is for now, but I don't really want to execute any of the folks currently in the running. Also, if anyone knows who John is, I need to figure out where he lives so I can burn his house down. He's selling bread-products in town which means he's a rival of my pa's bakery.
  7. That’s absolutely fair coming from a village smoker like you certainly are. I will vote for Araris Valerian, because I am immune to Thwacking
  8. He's said a few things on the Discord. He's alive
  9. If anyone wants to send me a link to the Spec/Dead doc, i'll trade them the link to the eliminator doc. I want to see what was said
  10. Yea I didn't know any of that. I chose tonkill you because I knew you had survived erroneously to the very end of the most recent game I ran. It didn't feel rude to N1 you.
  11. It was great fun! It was also incredibly frustrating that I couldn't move votes off of myself onto Hoid. I knew he was an eliminator! I was giving his exact, genuine, eliminator reasons for why he did various things, and people kept saying an eliminator wouldn't do those things! Also, how does everyone here feel about Hammering? Because I have Capital T Thoughts about Hammering that I am going to double post in the Discord and in here. My thoughts on Hammering: As a player and a Game master, I don’t like Hammering. When I’m a Game Master, it adds additional work and stress to rollover. If I know the Eliminators are planning on hammering, I have to ensure that my Turn Closing announcement is exactly scheduled, and I can’t easily start to work on writeup until I know things have settled. What if they mess up? What if a villager blocks it? Too many things are in flux. Plus it often feels like I, as the GM, have to aid the Eliminators in this matter. I have to warn them that I’m online, because if I don’t, I might ruin their plans by posting a minute early or late. When I’m a villager, and the Eliminators hammer at the last minute, I’m scrambling to find a way to respond in the seconds left. This game is usually a game of careful, thought out analysis, played over several days to give people time to participate. When I’m an eliminator, as I was in Long Game 108, winning due to a last second hammer (Literally at 59 minutes 59 seconds) feels scummy. It doesn’t feel like a genius tactical maneuver, or a cunning deception, it just feels like the village tripped over their shoelaces and we stabbed them in the back. What could be done about it? Assuming the community, or GM’s as a whole, don’t want to ban it, but do agree to discourage it, how would this manifest? In Mid-Range Game 74, I play tested an Anti-Hammering rule that added 15 minutes to a cycle if someone cast a vote in the last 15 minutes of a turn. It could extend the turn by up to 1 additional hour. It worked quite well, extending play several times. It worked for me as the GM because I chose my rollover time with that rule in mind, making sure that I would have plenty of time to use it if necessary. Not every GM will be able to use this rule. Another possible rule I’m considering playtesting is a hidden rollover time. There will be a 20 minute range of times in which rollover can be posted. The range is known, but the minute is not. I would randomly determine it in advance each cycle. That is a rule that can be implemented by any GM, regardless of their time restraints. The point being, unless the community is strongly in favor of Hammering, I don’t intend to participate in Hammering ever again, either as a GM or as an Eliminator. There are ways that determined GM’s can stop Hammering. There are ways that Eliminators can discourage it. I didn’t discourage it this time, because I’m a bit pressed for time IRL right now. (I type that sentence, fully knowing that I should be doing Homework instead of SE right now, but, meh.) The Community’s thoughts on Hammering: Am I alone in this? I know that Hammering has been around for a very long time. There is the Notorious LG15A, which was won on the first cycle by an Eliminator Hammer. (Special Win Condition) To my recollection, there has never been a serious debate or discussion about whether or not this tactic should be discouraged. All is fair in love and war and all that, but this is neither love nor war, and we want the community to be fun and encouraging to play in. Should Hammering be discouraged? Dis-incentivised? Banned? Am I alone in disliking it?
  12. I currently have a Quick Fix game in the works called Shrapnel Grenade that I would love to get eyes on.
  13. Well the Long Game has ended, so we should definitely figure out who the next Quick Fix Game Master is. I have Direct Messaged these 4 on the Discord, and will report back if they decline. EDIT: StrikerEZ and Steeldancer have officially declined. Drake Marshall is in the process of figuring out whether or not he'll be able to run a game. EDIT2: Drake Marshall has accepted.
  14. Emmett still didn’t understand what was happening. There had been a plan, acting had been involved, but now it seemed that Shifter was betraying them. Was this part of it, or some strange betrayal of all they had worked for? The Vengeance they had crafted for the loss of the Frostmaiden, the Mistress of the Cold Night. The Midnight Sorceress. Shifter met their eyes, sword at their throat, a question unasked. Emmett didn’t understand, but they nodded at him. And Shifter turned away, sword swinging. Emmett jumped up after, sword swung low in the opposite direction. Shifter would take the apprentices, but Emmett wanted the Crew, the ones who had fought and banished the holy Matron. The Unknown Hammerer.
  15. . . . Thank you Araris, for reading the rules. I am guessing that TwinStorm hit Hoid. Or maybe STINK did. as I said, those are the only two villagers that I wouldn't expect to reveal that by now. (Because Twin died before he could.) Not sure about STINK
  16. Yeah that's fair, especially with RBM voting on Hoid with me right now. Tell you what, we both think Royal Bee Mage is an Eliminator. I'll vote him if you do. I suspect that Twin Storm or STINK hit Hoid with the Crimson Pot. Twin died, and STINK doesn't seem likely to reveal himself. OH! WAIT! It's a WGG! Hoid was hit by Twin Storm, got healed, and they realized how useful that was, so CD crafted a Novice Pot, wounding himself to buy village Cred! That's why no one has claimed.
  17. Emmett sighed. This charade from Shifter was ridiculous. They looked around the deck. There weren't many students left. None of them believed that they was innocent. They all accepted Shifter's words, despite the man's lies. The only one pretending to back them at this point was William. Emmett didn't understand what his plan was. It hardly mattered. Emmett drew from their back a long hollow rod, flute like, carefully coated in Celeste Spores. They held it upright, and pulled a small cord from it's base, and then swung the rod in an arc. Inside the metal, water that had been contained behind the cord sprayed up the length of the rod, mixing with Spore and shooting outward in a series of jagged icicles. Emmett gripped the hilt of their Frostrime Blade with two hands, and stared at Shifter. "You are a liar, and a traitor. I know you slew thOmmAs. Why do you accuse me of your own crimes?"
  18. Day 2 Votes: In Vote 14, do you really think I would vote alongside a fellow eliminator on a player than no villagers were voting on? Day 3 Votes: @STINK did you use a Crimson Pot on Hoid Slayer? I ask because you twice voted for Hoid Slayer, and didn't vote to heal him. Night 3 Votes: Heal Hoid Slayer (5/4): Hoid Slayer, Coder Dragon, Araris Valerian, The Unknown Hammerer, Royal Bee Mage Let him die (3/5): A Jo in the Bush, STINK, Belandrius Ohmar Day 4 Votes: Alright, whatever. barking up this tree is doing nothing. You all think Hoid Slayer is a villager. At this point I am tunneling on him, but I'll pretend he's a villager. From my point of view, that means the Eliminators must be 3 of Coder, Stink, Araris, Hammerer, or Royal. Day 2 makes sense in that world. Any of them can basically vote however they want without worry, because none of the 5 of them receive more than a vote at a time. We're in a V/V/V world, which sucks from an analytical perspective. Day 3 also makes sinse in that world. Again, any of them can vote, however they want. Twin Storm effectively gets executed by villagers only. The only think of note that I could analyse here is that Coder and Araris probably aren't Eliminators together. Day 4 is the first time the Elims have to actually lead an execution, on me. In the V/V world of me and Hoid, I basically have to believe the game is over. There's no one but villagers up for exectuion, and 5/7 players have voted. Take a walk down my world now. The Eliminators are Hoid Slayer, Royal Bee Mage, and Coder Dragon First Note, none of them, have ever, voted for eachother. They have consistently voted in defense of eachother. They have consistented voted to heal eachother. Royal Bee Mage in particualar has voted to heal both fo them when there was already 4 votes to heal each of them. @Araris Valerian Pretend I'm an eliminator. Pretend the votes don't change after this point. I get executed. Coder lives. You have 2 eliminators left among TUH, Coder, Royal, Hoid, and STINK. Who are my teammates? Who's working with me? Hoid voted for you because you had voted for him and then switched off of him (Day2, Votes 15/16), and he knew that he was in a V/V world. If you got executed, he would have TwinStorm, a master, in his pocket for saving him. If Twin got executed, he would keep you in his pocket to protect him. This is the last time I'm doing analysis this game. I've spent too much time on this game at this point. If anyone switches their vote off of me onto Coder, Royal, or Hoid, I'll vote with them. Otherwise, unless someone asks me a direct question, I'm not going to post again. GG Elims.
  19. He knew that TwinStor would flip village, so maybe he wanted to get village cred for leaving a village train at the last minute? Or possibly he wanted to target another Novice? We had lost only Novices up to that point. Not sure if that is a coincidence or not with today's thread name.
