[ spoiler ] something [ /spoiler ] without the spaces. Yeah, it would be nice if there was a button for it.

Why wouldn't he on Roshar? edit: adding spoiler tag, I think you need to do the same.

Fourth oath of the windrunners (spoilers)
Aleksiel replied to Josiah Bills's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Kal will deal with leadership when his squires appear (I believe Lopen is now one). But I don't think it will be his next oath, though. I think Josiah is right and will be some way for Kal to resolve his issues with either killing to protect or taking too much responsibility and blame. Which is actually a leadership issue, so I just started contradicting with myself. -
Adolin is gorgeous, but I think you should add some black hair to his. And Kaladin's hair must be black also. Other than that, good job!

Kaladin mentioned his cell trembling, it could have been how the colors getting more vibrant felt to him.

Then we disagree on the matter Did she even know about Ghostblood before her father was killed? It was Gavilar's death that set Jasnah on the way of discovering what happened, so those assassinations are a recent event. Her bond with Ivory predates them.

Well, Nalan isn't a Skybreaker now, is he? I merely used him to give one more example for what Syl said - that what's right and what's lawful are two different things sometimes. Yes, Adolin made a poor choice there, but that doesn't mean he'll end up being Odium's champion. What he did is acceptable to at least one KR order.
-
What Nalan did to Ym was not self defense either, but it was justified in a twisted manner. The treason of Sadeas deserved him an execution that Adolin provided. Now, your reasoning makes perfect sense and I agree with you on certain points. What Adolin did was not right, however was justified which as Syl pointed out are two different things. Honorspren care about doing the right thing and highspren cherish lawfulness above everything else.

Hoid wears mostly black clothing which aren't affected by Breaths as much as other colors and we know those of the fourth (?) heightening and above can hide their Breaths, though I don't remember if it was ever explained how that works.
-
I believe you are mistaken:
-
I wonder if Nightblood can feed on stormlight like he took Breaths. But wouldn't Nightblood kill Szeth when he tries to use him now that Szeth can't infuse himself with stormlight?
-
Where is that statement saying no surge allows foretelling? Renarin said he sees, not that he calculates.

So, is this a topic where we post everyone we believe are worldhoppers? If so, I can contribute a little. Zahel (Vasher) is probably the most obvious one (anyone else laughing at his colorful metaphors and how nobody gets them?) and WoB confirm Hoid. I wonder if we can count Nightblood, though it's not like he traveled on his own. I've been wondering if that Nazh is one too. He use 'shadows, woman! Even I'm not that crazy' in the text of one drawing and if there is a cosmere world where they curse using 'shadows' instead of 'storms', then he is one too. Though it could just point that he is not Alethi, but still Rosharian.

Actually, I can argue it was pretty close to what Nalan has been doing. Adolin has some affinity towards justice - he stayed in prison with Kaladin, he didn't argue it was unfair to have four against him, he was only thinking about the loop that was exploited, he executed Sadeas for his crimes after failing to bring him to court or a duel. And he is nothing if not confident. Though Adolin doesn't hear his Blade scream or feel repulsed by it, so he most likely isn't a surgebinder yet. I'd like to see him awakening his dead spren (the Shardblade) and may be be a Skybreaker.

Well, Hoid has hunches for the future, he knows where he is needed, though not why. Why can't Truthwatchers' ability to see the future be similar? Besides, Tanavast said he could see small glimpses of future, things that might be. And if Truthwatchers' spren are of Cultivation, then there is a solid explanation as Cultivation is better at seeing the future.

Apparently, I can't put my thoughts in a good enough way, probably my English or something I'm yet to figure out. I do not define a broken person to be some who has traumatic experience, because then practically everybody would be broken. What I meant by that was someone who can't deal with their issues at all, like how Shallan can't confront her past. When I said 'need someone to set an example' I chose my wording poorly. I didn't mean it in a romantic way, but more of a mentor or friendly relationship. It's easier (thought not a must in any way) when you see how someone else has already dealt with what you are struggling with. I meant from my experience relationships between broken people don't work quite well, but didn't intend to imply they never do. I meant I haven't seen one that worked. I'd definitely enjoy reading one that does work and Brandon is good enough of an author to do this, though I would prefer if Kal and Shallan deal with their issues outside of a romantic relationship. Something else I wanted to express was just because Shadolin seems unlikely doesn't mean Shalladin must happen. I think they can have a really fulfilling friendship and have a deep connection. Having mostly romantic relationships between male and female characters (that have no blood connection) doesn't seem like something Brandon would do and a strong male/female friendship can only benefit the series. That and I don't want Adolin and Kaladin to have a competition over a girl come between them; it's a motif we'll see in Dalinar's flashbacks. Oh, and don't forget the Chekhov's gunwoman Tarah. I'm curious what Brandon is foreshadowing here.

Unfortunately, I think he's a squire not a surgebinder. So no Lopen - spren interaction just yet. That would be hilarious. though. I wonder what abilities squires possess. Weaker version of Windrunner surges + healing abilities and additional strength from the stormlight?
-
I think you should mark that couple as a spoiler as not everyone have read Mistborn. Also, the point was a love triangle would take too much space. If Adolin and Shallan break up, then she and Kal hit it off, it doesn't count.
-
Why wouldn't Taln have a bond with his Honorblade? Of course it didn't disappear when he passed out, that's not how Honorblades work from what we've seen in WoK. I think Hoid did take it to prevent others from acquiring an Honorblade. The bond can't be broken unless the Herald leaves the Blade and Taln didn't abandon it, so the bond stays. But he isn't in his right mind yet, so he hadn't resummoned it. I wonder if Hoid gave Nightblood to Nalan in exchange for a Shardblade.
-
Well, if I wanted to read about such a dramatic love story, I wouldn't have picked up this series... I don't care how this issues resolves as long as it doesn't become someone's story arc or big part of it.
-
I can't believe Kal's parents would stay in Hearthstone after everything that happened. I don't know why he is so certain they are still there.
-
I'm not saying it is, but it's a start. Otherwise it would mean that once dead a spren can't be revived without the original bonder. And this contradicts with the idea of spren being natural forces that don't die forever. So I think there has to be a way.
-
He has a bond with the blade, that's how he can summon it.
