Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Reasons? I thought I made those reasons clear earlier but upon reflection maybe I didn't. My suspicion of Sart has been growing steadily for many cycles now. I disagree with much of his big analysis post a few cycles back, and it felt to me like he was trying to steer the public suspicions with it. He has been just active enough to cast some votes and post some suspicions here and there, but has been quiet enough to avoid attention for most of the game. His Eastern Street Slang- while appropriate for his RP- obscures most of his meaning and seems like a good way to hide in plain sight as an eliminator. I have had my eye on Conquestor for a little while too (let's be honest, I've had my eye on just about everyone), though I don't suspect him nearly as much as Sart. He's also been hovering around at the lower end of activity where it's easy to avoid attention and suspicion, but mostly it comes from the last minute vote swing last cycle away from you and onto Magestar. Conquestor started the vote for Mage, IIRC, and Sart also participated in that vote. I trust the others who voted for Mage, for the most part. Also, Joe- the one person we know we can all trust- suspects Conquestor the most right now. As for you, I only suspect you if it turns out that Conquestor and/or Sart are evil. If not then I don't have any particularly strong reason to suspect you- no more than usual anyway.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I agree, we're down to the wire. We've only got a couple rounds left to catch another eliminator or we're toast, unless they have a few more failed attacks. As for your suspicion of me... I'm confused about what exactly you mean by teflon coated? If you mean I've been able to avoid most of the suspicion this whole time- I haven't. One round I even had the second most votes. And if I had avoided suspicion, how does not being suspicious make me suspicious? And if you mean you suspect me because the suspicion on me hasn't been enough to get me lynched yet... well technically that's true of all of us. Anyway, I've got to vote for my biggest suspicions. Right now that's Sart and Conquestor. If Conquestor is guilty, I suspect STINK too, but otherwise I think STINK is probably clear. Maybe. Herwynbe followed the servant down the winding steps to the manor's storerooms. At the bottom of the steps, the servant unlocked the door and opened it, then stood aside so that Herwynbe could see. Herwynbe held his lantern high, peering into the gloom. Boxes and barrels lay scattered about the storeroom, their contents missing. "It's like I said, Master Steward, "Someone broke in and stole it all. We found it like this morning. Nobody knows how they got in, nobody saw anything and the door was still locked this morning." Herwynbe frowned. "And the other storerooms? Did the thieves break into them as well?" "No, but we checked them, too, and... well, one has been infested by rats. The other one had a leak we didn't see until we moved some crates around, and the damp spoiled most of the food. Mistress chef has her staff sorting through both of them to see what food we can salvage." Herwynbe hesitated for a long moment. "How much?" He finally asked, "How long will it last." "A few days," the servant said hesitantly. "If we continue to provide food for the village. We could make it last a few weeks if we kept it for the Master's household and staff-" Herwynbe raised a hand, cutting the servant off. "No. If we abandon the townspeople now, then in a few weeks the only ones who will be around to eat these supplies will be the Koloss, I think. Share the food with the people. We will not let them spend their last days hungry. We will give them what hope we can."- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Bugger. Things are starting to look bad for us. We're down to 13 players, only about 11 of which are active, and of which probably around 3-5 are eliminators. We need to catch some eliminators soon. I would be more suspicious of the last minute vote swings from STINK to Magestar, except I don't find STINK particularly suspicious and the deciding vote change was made by Joe, so we know it wasn't Eliminators behind it. That being said, our of those who did vote for Mage, I'm still suspicious of Sart, and a little bit of Conquestor.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh wow, and I thought I was pushing myself with averaging 5-6 hours of sleep. Yes, by all means take a break from SE and take good care of yourself. The game is fun but not worth endangering your health over. We'll see you when such a time comes that you can make room in your schedule for SE and get plenty of sleep. Anyway, I just woke up and I'm on mobile so I'm going to keep this short. I still suspect Sart. Sart you asked me about inconsistencies in your brief analysis and suspicion list. I don't have time to go through the whole thing but as one example you claim I defended Nyali. I admit that I never actually cast a vote for her, but not for lack of willingness to. The day she was lynched I was fully planning on coming back to change my vote to her but I got my days mixed up and the cycle ended before I could. I didn't vote for her before that because at the time I had other people I suspected more. So to say I "defended" Nyali is a distortion of facts, or at least a very selective choosing of which facts to address and which to ignore. There were other, similar such distortions / selective choosings for other players on your list, but I don't remember them off the top of my head and I don't have time to look it up now anyway.- 1403 replies

As a Contribution Crusader I appreciated it greatly, and would do so again. I know that Conquestor has slipped away again, and there's probably a few others. Plus it's useful for rooting out those eliminators that like to try to lay low and not draw attention to themselves.- 1403 replies

@OrlokTsubodai, how's that analysis coming along? I'm very curious to see what you come up with. Didn't someone else say they were going to go back to the beginning and do an analysis starting from there? Thanks to both of you for putting that kind of time and effort into the game. Like seriously, I'm impressed, and grateful that someone else can do that when I just can't.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My vote on Sart this cycle was originally a bit of a poke vote, mixed with a little suspicion, but nothing I've seen this cycle has lessened my suspicion of him. Just the opposite. His big analysis post seems very selective and has large gaps and inconsistencies. He seems to be picking and choosing which bits of evidence he wants us to focus on and ignores the rest. Regardless, I'm going to remove my vote for Sart and put it on Assassin instead, to help prevent any possible vote shenanigans. Sorry if you are a villager Assassin, but the evidence is too great against you to ignore any longer.- 1403 replies

Whoops, I got Orlok and Wonko mixed up. My bad. In that case, I'm going to put Orlok firmly in the "analysis pending" category until he has a chance to finish catching up and analyzing the thread. uh... go read my last post more closely, I made my thoughts known as clearly as I could in there. Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I've got a few minutes before I hit the sack so I may as well start the discussion today. I by no means have the time to do any sort of in depth analysis or to even look at everyone right now, but I'll start with my thoughts on everyone in the bottom part of Joe's suspicion list from last cycle. Hopefully I'll be able to get to everyone else tomorrow. Seonid- hasn't really stood out to me in any significant way, but gut feeling is he's Villager. Gamma- dead Magestar- hard to get a read on him because he wasn't very active for a while there, but back when he was active I was starting to get a little suspicious of him. Araris- He's pretty much flown below my suspicion radar AND my CC radar the whole game, which means I should probably be paying closer attention to him. Jondesu- I've waffled back and forth with Jondesu for most of the game. At first he didn't seem suspicious because he was attacked and survived, but then he tunneled on me for multiple rounds and it made me wonder, but then he backed off and seemed genuine, but then I started wondering if he is a spiked mistborn that pulled a WGG, but he does have a point about how he went after Nyali early on, so I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he was villager or spiked. Orlok- Completely inactive, which is a shame. Last time I checked he hadn't even logged into the site in over 2 weeks. I'd be willing to lynch him for CC purposes, but I don't suspect him at all. Sart - I'm going to put my vote here, at least for now. Mostly a gut feeling, but Sart has been fairly active IIRC but hasnt really gathered any attention that I can remember. Just the place where an Eliminator would hide. Hemalurgic Headshot- Dead Herwynbe stood in his master's lounge, eyeing the three glass jars that stood on the mantel. Each one was filled with a dark red liquid (which Herwynbe tried not to think about) and held a metal spike inside. One had come from Reginald, another from the orphan Nyah, and the last had been taken from Nicki's body, after she had taken it in turn from that stranger the night this all started. Herwynbe's master noticed the steward's gaze and said, "You have done well so far, my friend. But our work is not finished yet. The Koloss army is gathering its strength, and there are still those within the village who seek to prepare the way for the Koloss to slay us all. The ones who bear the taint of Hemalurgy." "Hemalurgy, master?" Herwynbe said, confused at the strange word. "Those pierced by metal. We must find the rest of them, and soon, my friend. The clock is winding down. If my calculations and observations of the Koloss are correct, we have about a week left, maybe less." Herwynbe's mouth went dry. He swallowed, and said, "My lord, if the situation is truly so dire, then it would be wise for us to withdraw from the city, I think." "No, my friend. We cannot run away, not this time, for one simple reason: This town needs us. We cannot save them, but perhaps there is still time to help them save themselves."- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I thought that too, for a while. Why would the Spiked use up a thug's power just to pull a WGG that might or might not work? It seemed like too much of a price to pay for the risk involved. But then I realized, what if you're a mistborn? The spiked could wait until a cycle when you were a thug and then attack you without losing anything. You'd be alive, you'd still be a mistborn, could still draw powers, and maybe the villagers wouldn't suspect you now. We know that there is at least one more mistborn out there, and it might be you. Just saying. I believe that's exactly what he's trying to make you do. For what it's worth, I agree with him. You can't say you're still playing the game if you sit on the sidelines and refuse to take the field. And if you are still following the game, is it so hard to just throw out a post once every couple of days and vote for someone? Or voice a suspicion or two?- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well I was going to make this a short and sweet post, but then I saw Elbereth's mega-post, and since I featured prominently in it I figured I better respond. Just know that I'm literally losing sleep over this. First off, Welcome back Elbereth! I'm delighted to have you return to activity (even if I'm at the top of your suspicion list )! Under normal circumstances, I agree. Even under abnormal circumstances (like we were in), the plan was far from perfect. The situation (as I saw it at the time) was this: Arinian just claimed to be a seeker and there was a lot of people supporting him and a lot of people who instantly became suspicious of him- even some who suggested lynching him right then and there to find out if his claims were true. I was kind of in the middle, but leaning towards trusting Arinian- his claims didn't feel like a ploy to me. I suggested lynching Wonko as a sort of compromise- a chance to possibly get a bit of info and to give Arinian more time to do his stuff. Again, it was far from a perfect plan, which is why I didn't push it that hard, but I did propose it as a milder alternative to lynching the guy who had just told us that he was our seeker. Wonko was inactive at the time and was showing no signs of coming back, and as anyone who has played a handful of games with me can testify, whether I'm village or elim, when there isn't a "good" lynch target I always support lynching an inactive. (Reference: See the big "Contribution Crusade" banner in my signature. Also, see my Contribution Crusade post near the beginning of the game (IIRC it's around page 5 of the archive thread, give or take) for more of my views on the CC). So if you want to suspect me over that, fine, I guess. I knew it wasn't going to be a popular suggestion, but it's one that I genuinely believed in. Yes, you are right. I had a feeling my logic was faulty but in my sleep-deprived state I couldn't think of it. Thank you. Anyway, as for voting this cycle. I removed my vote from Elbereth because I agree with Arinian- I don't feel right about lynching someone who has just made a huge effort to come back to activity and who frankly has probably put more thought and analyis into the past couple weeks worth of post than any player still alive, with the exception maybe of Joe (I don't know exactly how much he learned and processed from PMing people). I do NOT think that the bandwagon that formed against her was enough of a reason to not suspect her- it dispelled far too quickly for my tastes. My biggest suspicion is actually Hemalurgic Headshot- Even before Joe cast a vote for him. HH's posts have felt off to me for the past couple days now- but for now I think I want to put my efforts in a different direction. As best as I can tell the only one's who haven't posted yet this cycle are Seonid, Conquestor, Wonko, and Stink. I don't hold any hope for Wonko returning, and Stink flat out said he wants to quit the game (which is sad. Please reconsider @STINK!). Seonid has a vote on him already, so I'd like to call on Conquestor to speak up and give us his thoughts.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I knew that, and I knew that we didn't want to lynch Wonko. I honestly don't know why I said that. That's what I get for posting at 7:00 in the morning without getting enough sleep the night before. I support lynching Elbereth. Those are some good reasons you've listed and since you are the one confirmed active player we have left and the one that PM'd everyone looking for info, there's no reason NOT to vote along with you. However, I fear that if everyone simply votes along with Joe that it will squash discussion even more than it has been already. @A Joe in the Bush, could I ask you to maybe share a handful of your suspicions with us? That would at least give us something to start discussing, and it's a probably a good idea to get that out in the open in case the Eliminators come after you next and you don't have any protection. You mentioned going after smokers. I can agree with that, for reasons we briefly discussed in our PM. Also, as I think about it, the eliminators most likely have at least one smoker, maybe two. But if ONE eliminator can burn copper, then TWO of them can safely claim smoker to you. I take it from your comments and from Magestar's post that he is a smoker, and I'd be curious to know who the others are. Before you tell us who they are (if you decide to), can anyone think of a good reason why it would be a bad idea for the village to know who has claimed to be a smoker? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm still tired and might not be thinking clearly, and I don't want to suggest something that might end up hurting us. .- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Right now, by my count we have 18 people still alive. With the Exception of Wonko and maybe one or two others, everybody else has been reasonably active. It is still far too early in the game for discussion to be dying off. So let's hear your suspicions everyone! @A Joe in the Bush I'm especially interested in hearing your suspicions, seeing as your the only confirmed player left that's still active. As for voting, I'm tempted to cast a vote for @Hemalurgic_Headshot- his posts just haven't felt right to me lately- but I hesitate to do so because he's actually one of the most active players right now. I might vote for @STINK or @Wonko the Sane for inactivity, but I'm not sure that's the best move at this point. @DroughtBringer, if you are a Coinshot, why did you not attack an inactive last night? Or someone you suspect? I assume that's what Joe is asking about, too also, when I sent out all the Contribution Crusade PMs I received a couple requests from people returning to activity to summarize what had happened so far to make it easier for them to catch up. I would love to do that, but I just don't have the time. Could somebody else please put together such a summary? Thanks. On the 10th day after this terrible business began, Herwynbe called a meeting in his Master's manor. Where once the Great Hall had been filled near to bursting with noisy guests, eagerly devouring food faster than the servants could bring it out to them, half the seats in the hall were empty. The people that had gathered sat apart from each other, casting suspicious glances at patrons at nearby tables and openly glaring at anybody who came closer than that. Herwynbe stood before the somber group- it couldn't really be called a "crowd" anymore- and began speaking. "Fellow citizens of Tyrian Falls, my master thanks you for coming tonight. We have all suffered losses during recent days, primarily due to the actions of those 'pierced by metal.' They may take our lives, but we must not let them take our hope. If we withdraw from one another and shrink back into solitude and isolation, it only enables these traitors to do as they please- to bring ruin down upon our heads. This is what they desire- to divide us asunder. We must work together if we are to root them out of our midst! So please, I ask of you, speak. Discuss. Share your thoughts, your hopes, your fears, and yes, even your accusations with each other, that we may find and purge these evil persons from among us."- 1403 replies

And PMs are open this cycle, but who knows when or even if we'll have PMs again. It all depends on whether or not any Mistborn out there get Tin again. It seems like the general consensus has been for Coinshots to take out the inactive players. Right now, based on what I saw while doing the Contribution Crusade PMs the most inactive players are Wonko, Orlok, you (but your back now), and Elbereth (she replied that she's catching up on the thread now so she can come back). Bugsy has been absent due to finals, but said it should just be a temporary absence. Magestar, Gamma, and Conquestor have had low levels of activity lately, but not completely inactive. So there you go, make of it what you will. EDIT: oh, I should also mention that wonko and Bugsy were both confirmed as villagers by Arinian, so you might not want to target them.- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Herwynbe, returned to his master's mansion for the first time in days. His feet ached and his clothes were stained with ash and grime, but he had finally finished his task. He had tracked down each and every one of the key players in the village and delivered the messages from his master. And he had finished one other assignment, two. He had found Nicki's body- what was left of it, in the graveyard, dusted with two day's worth of ash. All alone, he had dug her grave himself and offered a prayer from a long dead religion over her body, and then buried her. But before he had done any of that he had searched her body until he had found and retrieved the spike she had implanted. The dead deserved respect, but Herwynbe's duties lied with the Living first and foremost. And the steward was nothing if not dutiful. With a sigh, he went to report to his master. Whew! I have gone through everyone still active and sent you a PM on behalf of the Contribution Crusade, either to thank you for your activity or to invite you back to the game, as appropriate. If anyone did NOT get a PM for me, that was unintentional. Let me know and I'll send you some CC love too!- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss

Thanks, Jondesu. That sounds genuine enough to me, and to be fair, you do have a point about Dalinar. That would be clever for the spiked to push to lynch or coinshot him if they knew he'd survive anyway. I still don't buy it- it seems to me that they tried really hard to keep him alive, and there are probably better things the Spiked could have been doing with their efforts, like actually killing people- but I can see that it's at least a feasible scenario. I don't feel like I've been getting away without accusations- I was the number 2 lynch target one day if I remember correctly, and there have been others who have accused me as well besides you. Anyway, speaking of people not getting as much suspicion as they probably deserve, I feel like Gamma has been slipping under the radar. Diablo 3 or not, where are you Gamma?- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Herowannabe replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Remart turned from his empty mug and gave a start as he nearly ran into Herwynbe. The Terrisman had just stepped in through the tavern's entrance. Herwynbe bowed his head and said, "Good morning, master Remart. It has come to my attention that you have been asking after me, and spreading unfavorable rumors about my master's work on behalf of the village. It would be wise and beneficial for us to discuss these matters, I think." He gestured at Remart's vacant stool in that obsequious manner that made Remart just want to punch him in the face. Remart suppressed the urge, for now, and sat. Okay, let's see here. What questions exactly have you posed of me? I did a quick search and pulled up all the posts this game where you've mentioned me. Here they are, in order: No questions, not really, just the implication that I was stirring the town up and trying to get Dalinar lynched. Um... guilty. Yes I was. The last minute vote changes and vote manipulations were very suspicious to me, and the simplest explanation was that multiple someone's were going out of their way to save Dalinar. On day 1, when nobody had any particular reason yet to save Dalinar. Unless of course he was spiked. It seemed obvious to me then, and it still seems obvious to me now. It was obvious to other people as well, and they also voted for Dalinar, as you yourself pointed out. So why pick me out from everyone else? No questions, just undefined suspicions. No questions, just undefined suspicions. No questions, just undefined suspicions. No questions, just undefined suspicions. No questions, just undefined suspicions. Annnnnd... no questions, just undefined suspicions. Jondesu, in this entire game, nobody has tunnelled as hard on anyone as you have on me, and for less reasoning. Why exactly do you suspect me so? Because I wanted to lynch Dalinar? Dalinar who was spiked? At first I was willing to let your suspicions pass as vague, early game villager suspicions, but the way you've clung to them and refused to let them go, cycle after cycle...Well, I can't really think of any explanation for it, so unless you give me some a good explanation, I'll be voting for you this cycle, I think.- 1403 replies

Bugsy was one of the ones that Arinian cleared, wasn't he? Regardless, the Contribution Crusader in me fully supports going after inactives. But before we straight up start killing them, let's call them back and see if we can't get them to start playing again, shall we? @OrlokTsubodai @Sart @DroughtBringer @Silverblade5 @STINK @Bugsy6912 @Wonko the Sane, come back to us! Eliminators or not, useful roles or not, we miss you! EDIT: Did I miss any inactives? Herwynbe worked late into the night, searching the village. So many people had disappeared over the past few days- and not just the ones that had died. With the current state of affairs, many people had bunkered down in their houses or in hiding holes to try to wait out the coming storm. Herwynbe had to find them- as many as her could. Each one of them would be needed in the days to come. He rounded a corner and nearly bumped into another person, standing unseen in the mists. The person whirled, jumping in surprise. It was Nicki. When she recognized the Terrisman she slid her foot back into a combat position and raised fists threateningly. Herwynbe raised his hands defensively, taking a step back. "My Lady," he said, mind racing, "I did not expect to- but, here we are. The spik?. I do not suppose you refrained from...? but no. Of course you did. Truly and regretfully, I am sorry. There is nothing that can be done for that now." Nicki's eyes narrowed int a hard glare and she raised her fists another inch, muscles tensing. Herwynbe hastily took another step back, and continued speaking to forstall any violence.
