  1. You're right, I probably don't want to play this game. But I'm going to anyway because it looks fun. Sign me up as Herbert, a Micropachycephalosaurus (type of dinosaur) scholar who delights in regaling people with obscure trivia, usually about his own species. a few questions for the GM: what is meant by the knights of Crystia having an "anonymous" doc? Does that mean they don't know the identities of the other Knights, but can still communicate with them? and isn't it supposed to be "The Knights of Crystalia"? What exactly is the point of the Librarian role? If I'm reading it right it will tell you if someone else is a librarian, but won't reveal alignment or any other powers, and players from any faction can be a Librarian, right? So.... isn't that kind of pointless? "Trippers cannot trip trippers." This means they cannot trip themselves, right? how many trippers could a tripper trip if a tripper could trip trippers? "A Smerdy talent and a Librarian Role, but cannot have start with two Smedry Talents." obviously there's a typo there, but which one is right? Basically, if someone with a Smedry Talent marries another smedry, do they get each others' talents in addition to their own? I take it that PMs are not allowed (aside from the hushlander and Knight docs), right?
  2. A couple points, just to be perfectly clear: Actually, I talked to the other Lurcher before we had that conversation, and then the Lurcher told you about it and then you came to me about it. Once you pointed out that the Spiked could have killed me any time with Uber-Iron I dropped that whole idea. I didn't even speak with the Lurcher after that point other than last night cycle when I told them I'd be protecting myself. (Also, if I were a convert, what would be the point of trying to draw protection to myself and then not even submit a kill order that night? That literally makes 0 sense) That wasn't an attempt to misdirect, though I guess I could see how it might look that way. I've been tentatively wary of the new players all game. Lopen could confirm that- we discussed it long before there was a chance I could have been converted- except, you know, he's dead. Actually, converting me (or you, or Lopen, or anyone else who has publicly declared their role) would be a really dumb idea, because there's too much potential for this exact situation: When the newly snapped player reveals their role it casts suspicion on anybody known to have that role. As such, I think it's more likely that they converted the other Lurcher, or perhaps someone different entirely and the snapped player randomly drew Iron. As such, I'm voting for Yitzi. EDIT: Also, I would NEVER troll in a deliberate attempt to deceive people. Except, you know, of course, for the times that I do.
  3. Rae. Obviously. @OrlokTsubodai I'd also be interested in confirmation about whether an attack was attempted and blocked or whether no attack was made at all. Whichever is the case gives us important clues about who the inquisitor/Spiked are. I'm pretty sure it's the latter though, because my lurch didn't block a kill last night. Re: @little wilson: I can confirm that I expected the Spiked to double-tap me of the steel spike took, but that's because I didn't think things through enough and make the connection that they could have used uber-iron to redirect my protection and then kill me any time they wanted to. Once you pointed that out to me I realized you were right and dropped that line of thinking. And while I wasn't very active during the second half of last cycle, that was only because I had already submitted my lurch order (myself) early in the cycle and didn't have anything else I felt worth discussing until after the cycle ended, plus I've been very busy with work and other activities the past several days. However I was still active enough that (if I were Spiked) I could (and would) have easily submitted a kill order on someone. I'm curious though. @Arraenae, it's pretty obvious your Spiked. Why didn't you submit a kill order last night? As for the snapped player... well, that doesn't bode well for me. Of course a snapped Lurcher doesn't guarantee that the convert was a lurcher and yadda yadda, but TBH I'm surprised I'm still alive at all. I knew what trust I had gained was only a temporary thing, and I wouldn't blame anyone who wanted to lynch me next cycle. Wilson knows who all the lurchers are, so she's probably got the best read on which of them to trust or not. Unless she's Spiked. <__< @little wilson Care to sooth me (or someone else you suspect isn't smoked) today to prove whether you're still a Soother?
  4. Whew, that sounds brutal. Don't do what our esteemed GM did during AG3 and push yourself too hard. Get plenty of rest, even if it means cutting back on the game. For what it's worth, we'll probably help you get some more free time by re-lynching you tomorrow. It sounds like most people are agreed (myself included) that you're either a Spiked thug or the inquisitor.
  5. Taxes done, and I re-skimmed the thread. Not much to add, though I agree that the Inquisitor is probably a newer player. A lot of decisions just don't make sense. Also, it doesn't look like there was any doubt, but I can confirm that Wilson was the one attacked and protected last night. That's right, Inquisitor! That's twice I've foiled you now!
  6. Hey all, I just worked a 12 hour day staining a deck and I'm beat. Also tomorrow is tax day and I haven't even had a chance to start my taxes yet, so that's what I'll be doing all day tomorrow. As such, don't expect me to post much. But skimming through the thread and my PMs, it seems pretty clear that Arranae is up to no good.
  7. It's possible, but I doubt the Inquisitor would convert an inactive player. Plus we know that we do/did have an active rioter, who rioted votes on a couple cycles.
  8. Except that Wilson's own vote went through plenty of times that she soothed someone else, so it wasn't Wilson, unless my memory is horribly mistaken.
  9. Actually, that would probably be a bad idea, mainly because it would tell the Inquisitor exactly who needs to be killed/converted. I suppose a seeker who wanted protection could PM me (as a self-proclaimed Lurcher) directly, if you trust me, but even that is risky in case I ever get converted. Really, if I were a seeker, here's what I would do: I would PM 3 random players and say something like: "This is a message that originated from the seeker. The following players have been cleared on the following nights (or whatever info you want to pass on)... forward this message, word for word, on to 3 other players, and instruct them to do likewise. Do not reveal who originally PMed this to you." That way you could pass info on to the village and make it very difficult for the Spiked to trace the message back to its source.
  10. That is typically the case these days.
  11. Thanks for the offer, but unless someone wants to pay my bills for me I'll have to decline. Too much work on my plate at the moment to take on a game that intense.
  12. Honestly, while I am suspicious of you the main reason I'm voting for you is that we gain far more information by lynching you than we do by lynching anybody else. Among other things, we learn whether or not the Spiked are engaging in offensive smoking and whether they wanted to cast suspicion on you or genuinely wanted to protect you last night. Either way gives us some major clues as to where the other Spiked are hiding.
  13. So I'm a little late to the party, but yeah, I can confirm that Aonar was going to attack Rand last night. Here's what I think happened: The cycle before last night, the Inquisitor used uberbronze to scan Aonar and found out he was the coinshot. Last night, Wilson mentioned in the thread that the coinshot was going to attack Rand that night. The Inquisitor obviously has some sort of redirection power. I'm guessing: UberIron: Each night you may pick one player to protect and one to target. If the protected player is attacked, the attack is redirected to the target player. The inquisitor used UberIron to redirect the kill from Rand to Aonar. Or to Araris. Whatever. Either way, the eliminators essentially got two kills last night because they knew who to uber-Lurch. As such, there is a small chance that the eliminators are trying to get us to mis-lynch Rand. But I doubt it, I'm also of the opinion that Randuir is evil. There is one good thing that came from last night. Before I say what it is, let me just go ahead and say that I did not get converted. I don't say this to try to persuade anyone that I'm innocent. Right now there are 4 players who know I'm innocent: The Inquisitor, two converts, and me. It's to them that I'm talking right now. To Team Evil: Guess what? I didn't lurch myself last night. Yep, you totally could have killed me, but you missed your chance. Tonight and from now on I'll be back to protecting myself. Probably. But maybe not. Maybe you'll be able to kill me after all. Why don't you give it a try? The one good thing that came from last night: a chance to troll the eliminators.
  14. They point is if that everybody casts a vote- any vote, even if it's a throwaway vote on a random player- it's still helpful because it gives our emotional allomancers a chance to search for people being smoked by a coppercloud. That's how Jondesu was found and killed.
  15. Well, I am not as ready to let Kipper off the hook as easily as Wilson is. Worst case scenario- Kipper is a village thug, but since the Spiked just took out Meta who was a thug anyway, then they don't gain any extra conversion options by us lynching another thug. However, if we leave villagethug!Kipper alive, the Spiked have one more player that they can kill for a guaranteed conversion opportunity. Best case scenario- Kipper is the Inquisitor. It's worth the risk to me. So yeah, sorry Kipper (unless you are the Inquisitor. Then I'm not sorry).
  16. Fair enough. I suppose hypothetically I could be a mistborn, too, but neither is the case. I really am a Lurcher. Unfortunately I don't really have any way to prove it, unless the Spiked want to oblige me by attacking me again tonight...
  17. Does that mean you're saying that you're available to participate in it? Because if so you have my nomination and vote, @little wilson. I think you'd make an excellent representative of our community, and knowing you I imagine you might enjoy a chance to play without your rep hanging over your head. If not, I think that @Amanuensis would also make an excellent representative of our community.
  18. Okay, it's late and I need to be going to bed, but there are things that need to be discussed. First: Was there any vote manipulation that happened? I don't see any immediately but I am on mobile so it's not easy to double check. Second, nobody died last cycle, which is good news for us because the Inquisitor can't convert anybody tonight (and which also means that I have at least one more cycle before the Inquisitor can convert me). That brings me to the next point: @Kipper. As has been pointed out, because he survived the lynch he is either a thug, a lucky mistborn, or the Inquisitor. Based on the circumstances I think it's likely that he's the Inquisitor. His last post (which I'll get to in a minute), which was only about an hour before rollover, at which point it was pretty obvious he would be lynched. And he didn't say anything about having pewter. And he has been online after rollover (right now it says he was on 4 hours ago, and rollover was 5 hours ago) and did not post anything at all. That increases my suspicion of him. I would expect a village thug/mistborn to say something like "there, see? I'm a thug," but staying silent feels like an eliminator in a panic and taking time to consult the evil-doc before coming up with a response. It's notable that once Cessie was discovered to be the inquisitor in LG2 she went silent in the thread, too. (As I'm typing this @Araris Valerian just posted. In response let me say that yes, you are correct, however, from a purely statistical point it is much more likely that Kipper is the Inquisitor because now he is a member of the small subgroup that is capable of surviving a lynch. Plus, nothing about him surviving the lynch does anything to clear the suspicion that he has already garnered. Now, back to discussing that suspicion.) in response to Kipper's post from before rollover: Re: my role: maybe you missed it, but I am definitely not a seeker. I'm a Lurcher. I have publicly admitted it in the thread and we have public confirmation from the GM that a Lurcher is informed when their power blocks a kill, which mine did. Short of seeing the GM's master doc, it doesn't get any more concretely proven than that. Re:role-fishing. Maybe it's just semantics, but I would call any attempt to get someone to admit their role "role-fishing." And by that definition you definitely role-fished me. Role-fishing isn't inherently bad or suspicious (after all, I role-fished you right back, but you didn't bite), but the fact that you specifically tried to get me to admit whether or not I was a seeker, and then a cycle later I was attacked, that IS suspicious. Also, you insist that somebody else is feeding you info from a seeker? Don't you think it's about time you put your money where your mouth is and put a name to your informant? If you don't want to do so publicly (and you shouldn't), then PM me. Or better yet, to everyone else, if you are Kipper's informant, I invite you to PM me and say so. I'm about as confirmed-village as it is possible for a player to be, at least for the time being. @Mark IV Kipper says you can confirm part/all of his claims? What do you have to say about all this? You've been notably quiet lately and you were among those that didn't vote last cycle.
  19. Agreed. If nothing else we really need everyone to cast a vote on a random person. Staying quiet and withholding your vote doesn't help anybody. (Ninja'd by Lopen! Also, I have been receiving a few PMs, and have been going back and looking at the activity for the day as well as Kipper's posts and PMs, and I'm getting concerned. For reasons that I cannot disclose lest I reveal certain identities/roles/secrets to the Spiked, I am becoming increasingly certain that Kipper is at least a convert, if not the inquisitor himself. There are things he knew that he shouldn't have been able to know. Also, as I read over the thread for today, something just really rubs me the wrong way about the bandwagon on Aonar. A couple of the votes on him have wishy-washy reasoning, and there are one or two that lay out good reasoning for voting for Kipper OR Aonar, but eventually land on Aonar, which feels like it could be Kipper's Spiked buddies trying to save him, but covering their own backs by also voicing suspicion for him (I did EXACTLY this same thing in AG3, when I voted for Arraenae instead of joining the bandwagon on Nyali). In short, I can't shake the feeling that the Spiked are trying to maneuver us into NOT lynching Kipper. @Jondesu @Ecthelion III @Elenion @randuir @Arinian, I would like to call on you, if not to reconsider your votes, then to at least provide your reasons why you view Aonar as being more suspicious than Kipper. Herwynbe gazed attentively at Garshin, and when he finished speaking, he said, "Incredible! That is fascinating! But utterly useless to me, I am afraid. You say you're from the future? My calling is to teach the people about the traditions and practices of their ancestors. I can't teach them the practices of their descendants. That... that's just all backwards. It would mess up the space time continuum or some such nonsense, I'm sure. You don't happen to have read any books that deal with the ancient past, have you?
  20. Nope. I said this in my big post, but maybe you missed it. My assumption that the attack was on me is based on the PM I got from the GM saying that my lurch action successfully blocked an attack. And since I Lurched myself last night... EDIT: @randuir Kipper first PMed me with his role-fishing on Sunday, April 2nd. Our entire conversation lasted 2 days, and ended about 7:00PM MST Tuesday April 4th. I'll leave it to you to figure out what cycles that coincides with.
  21. I protected myself. I thought I made that abundantly clear.
  22. Wow. just.... wow. I'm super impressed. Forget trying to find just one or two of your posts to throw extra upvotes on, I think I'll just have to 'follow' you and upvote everything you post (in the gallery at least). Amazing work and amazing research. Also, and I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the inner cover of Words of Radiance (the one you clipped your "sample shallan" picture from) was actually drawn by Ben McSweeney/ @Inkthinker, not Michael Whelan. Michael just does the outside covers, everything interior is either Ben or Isaac Stewart, I believe.
