  1. As the late afternoon turned to evening, El returned to the town. For the moment, she returned to the Canton, in search of a place to sleep, and potentially somewhere to hide her herbs. She didn't manage to find anyone who wanted to take her in (at least, no one she could tolerate living with), but she did find a space to store her herbs. While everyone was either sleeping or discussing in the Canton, she climbed the great tree that grew in the town square, and hid her bag in a hole in the trunk. Not very easy access if she had to treat someone, but for the moment safety was the priority. There wasn't anything to deal effectively with life-threatening injuries in there, anyway, and a few moments wouldn't permanently injure anyone less seriously wounded. She grabbed a few herbs from the bag before she climbed back down, so she could begin mixing a few poultices- beginning with one for burns, given the Spiked traitors' primary method of destruction so far. She returned to the Canton, using a borrowed old washbasin to pound the herbs in. It wasn't exactly the beautiful stone pestle that she hadn't been able to find after the fire, but it would do. As she listened to the discussion, it seemed that nothing was being done. She wanted to help, but she had to deal with her basic necessities first. Survival before accusation. "I just wish I had somewhere to sleep," she said in frustration. Mark, there's your opening, if you want to do any of the RP we discussed. What I wouldn't give for a Coinshot... Mistborn (if you exist, which I hope), if you roll Coinshot, I'd advise not even going after your primary suspicion. At the rate this is going, all of the active players will lynch each other and the only people on either side will be inactives. So definitely go after an inactive, I'd say. Obviously up to you, but that's my take. That doesn't mean I think we should be lynching inactives, though. I don't know. I mean, it's pretty likely that many of the eliminators are hiding in inactivity (or are actually inactive). We could go on a huge inactivity spree for the next few lynches. Problem with that is that the eliminators will be killing good, active players, and we'll only be killing at best somewhat inactive Eliminators. So that doesn't really work. So I'd suggest we confine lynches to active or at least semi-active players, who have a chance of responding, and who we can learn at least something from. With that said, I think your excuse for your late reveal is a little bit flimsy, Mail. I know there's not much more you can say about that, but I'm of the opinion that it's not very good. I may do a reread of the thread, and potentially take my vote off you if I find someone more suspicious. Until then, it stays.
  2. I've been thinking about what I want to do with my playstyle, and I have decided. I'm going to have the same playstyle as in QF12, for multiple reasons. First off, that's the character I'm writing right now, and will continue doing so for some time. Second, it's much less confusing for me, since I don't have to remember which character I am pretending to be (once AG2 ends, anyway. But it's pretty far along already, and I'm set in that playstyle, so it won't be as bad.) Third, this character needs as much help as possible, and I didn't really like my other options. The two games are even both Reckoners! If I survive QF12, that's automatically becoming this character's backstory. So! See the link for more detailed information, but basically I'm changing my playstyle to match that of a character in my in-progress novel, in order to try out different playstyles and figure out more about my characters in the process. This particular character is a teenage shapeshifter with a temper. (Note that this is not my RP character. That's my playstyle.) PM usage will be low. RPs will be occasional and inconsistent. That's about it. Also, I'm no longer going to be Elbe. I'll be Ereth, an awesome warrior thug.
  3. El sighed, climbing up the last really steep hill between her and the town. She bore a hefty sack with her, the result of two days' labors. She had been mostly focused on the plants for the past days, making sure she had everything she needed for basic injuries, and as much as she could easily gather for more serious wounds. But now she was walking, there weren't any other herbs nearby, and she'd gone over the recipes for every potion and poultice that she could possibly think of, twice. There was nothing left to think about. Nothing but Kassien. Kassien's smell, that pine and juniper and other herbs, a wide mix of smells that no one else had. She lifted her arm and inhaled into her cloak. The scent was fading, now. It smelled more of freshly picked mint, and antiseptic, and horsetail. Kassien's smile, as she discovered new ways to make potions. Kassien's little wave goodbye, as he blew out the candle beside her bed. Kassien's arms as they picked her up and whirled her around when she'd taken care of her first serious wound. Kassien's blackened bones, lying on the cold stone. She cried for a while. But she found herself growing angry, suddenly, like she hadn't been before, as she crested the final hill and looked down on her precious town. Angry at these Spiked. They threatened the village. They had brought the koloss. They had murdered Kassien! And they would die in return. I got a little distracted for the past day, but I have returned. This has kind of developed into a mess. The spiderweb bas collapsed into a mess of strings, and the spiders are hidden among those strands. Mark, you are active. At least you're posting at least once a turn, which is more than can be said for some people. I do have some slight suspicion of Mail for the same reason others have said, but I haven't decided whether to believe his story yet. I'll likely be back to place a vote when I don't have to go to class. Edited for in-character wording.
  4. I would be annoyed, but that's actually rather convenient for RP purposes, given that El is also physically not anywhere near the town. So... thanks?
  5. This is normally where at least someone would say "Let the Coinshots deal with it!" Unfortunately, since Meta has seen fit to deprive us of kill roles, we can't just leave it.We can either leave all inactives alone for the moment, or do a couple of inactive lynches here and there. I don't like either option, though, for fairly obvious reasons. I think I'm inclined toward occasional inactive lynches (and yes, I know that's suspect, but I think it's the best option), as long as we make sure it's not every cycle. I guess. Hmph.
  6. Indeed. If he was manipulating me, it was manipulation to do something I wanted to do (which is just the easiest kind of manipulation, of course). He brought up a good point (which I posted in my original reasoning), and so I voted for HS. Also. I had just made up my mind that I would continue to vote for HS. He's been almost-lynched enough for a good stack of information, and he's been almost-lynched enough that I want to just find out his alignment and be done with it. And now Mail's reveal. I'm inclined to lynch him anyway (test the Seeker, and still get information from it), but I'll have to think on it. Edited in quote for clarification.
  7. El sighed, reaching down to pull out the last feverbane that she could see. It was getting dark; she'd need to stop soon. The moon was nowhere near bright enough, and carrying a torch was dangerous, for more than one reason. She stuffed the plant into her sack and straightened, stretching. She hiked for a few minutes, until she emerged atop a familiar hill, which she'd camped upon many times. She carefully kindled a small fire, in a dip where it wouldn't easily be spotted. Then she stood warming her hands to the fire as it cooked her dinner, staring out towards the tiny, fragile lights that marked the town. I don't know if HS is suspicious anymore. Maybe the eliminators were going to frame Wyrm, but the quick response to HS discouraged them. But there hasn't even been an effort to defend him. So either they decided to completely leave him to the wolves, or he's innocent, and I can't tell which. While this typo amuses me to no end, you probably want to fix it.
  8. So, as promised, a description of my character. What I'm doing, in essence, is duplicating what the playstyle of one of my characters would be, which both helps me understand those characters better, and lets me experience different playstyles. Kind of an RP of the whole game! (See the second half of this post for more explanation.) This particular character that I'm pretending to be this time is a shapeshifting teenage boy with anger management issues in my novel. How does that carry over? Well, I'll be very aggressive. If I ever go too far for anyone, just tell me and I'll stop. Any particularly bad bits I'll also try to preface with a bit in blue telling you not to take offense. PM usage will be a little bit on the lower side, but still relatively normal. There will be some RP (though not nearly as much as AG2, where it's basically in every post- probably more like once a cycle, or once every other cycle), but given that the character in my novel is a shapeshifter, it won't be terribly consistent. (GM, if you want a ravening beast to come out of nowhere or whatever, that would probably be my character "helping out the GM with realism".) I think that covers it. If it comes up, my character is also averse to couples behaving excessively romantically (which will carry over to RPs, and shouldn't come up otherwise), and people who enjoy being mysterious far too much. For this character, I haven't decided whether I'll be in character in the eliminator doc (if that comes up) or not. I could go either way. I will likely be in character for PMs, unlike usual. On with the game!
  9. Fair enough. (Agh! Burnt and Hael have got me saying it too! And I wasn't even in that doc. Either of those docs.) Yes, they have more information than us, I agree. They know who's not Spiked, so they can use process of elimination and be more accurate. But that does not mean they should come out to the thread (EDIT: That was unclear of me. I have no objection to proxies coming out in thread, and I don't know why they haven't yet). They do have trust groups, which I trust are discussing, and hopefully making a large enough impact on the thread to sway it away from known villagers. And there might be a Spiked Seeker, which people have already warned against. If all of the Seekers are evil, however, or if there aren't any, I will be unhappy, particularly given the notable lack of Coinshots already. Actually, that made me think of a suggestion for the Seeker PM groups, whoever you are: Prepare for PM destruction. It's possible that fairly soon we won't have any, so set up a code or whatever, so a proxy can announce results through the thread. EDIT: Clarifications above (in parentheses).
  10. Point. Doesn't really help your case, though. Also, I've just received confirmation from Meta that if Stink had sent in a message, we would have seen it. There's not much to be gleaned from that, though. Everyone's been inactive recently.
  11. No, but it could potentially give an indication of alignment. Anything anyone says does that. Perhaps because they knew Wyrm would have protection (either someone claimed and told them, or they just assumed it because it made sense), but no one mentioned giving Stink any protection, so they thought that would be safe (and also frame Wyrm, as I said earlier). If Wyrm were evil I'd have expected a WGG by now (though to be fair their Lucher did die on the first day, so they would have to have used a Villager contact unless they have two Lurchers, which seems unlikely given the absence of Coinshots). I don't necessarily think that Seekers should have found a Spiked right now, unless they were lucky. And it depends on if their strategy as well (whether they're targeting people they trust or people they suspect). And the Seekers have been scanning, I think. We just don't know the results because we haven't been scanned yet and added to one of the trust groups. And I think the Lurchers are protecting Villagers. They're just protecting the wrong ones. It's not easy to guess who will be attacked, usually (though I still say they should have seen Stink's death coming). EDIT: Ninja'd by Maill, saying basically the same thing.
  12. This is me fixing my RP from last cycle, since I forgot to before the turn ended. Oops. She thought about staying and discussing, trying to find Kassien's killer. She should have been concerned about revenge, she thought. But she wasn't, not really, not like that. So she would stick to what she knew best. The store of herbs was completely gone, of course. They'd need more, and quickly. She made plans for the morning, readying for a journey. She thought she would go out on short expeditions, rather than a long travel to get everything at once, just in case the village needed her skills. So she grabbed a bag from a neighbor, ignoring her pitying look. She returned the cloak she had been wearing to its rightful owner, and reverently put on her own, which had been hanging in the Canton where she had left it. She inhaled into the cloak, smelling the smells of home again, and nearly cried. But there was no time for that, not now. El dozed through the night, waking to hear occasional comments, and sleeping again, inside the Canton for the moment until she found someone to take her in. The next morning, she was already up and out of the town when dawn broke, heading towards the hills and the forests where she could find herbs to use to heal- and maybe, to kill. Well, if I wasn't suspicious of you before, I am now, Hellscythe. Wyrm is either good and being framed for being evil, or evil and being made indispensable with Stink's death (credit goes to Mail for bringing this up in a PM with me). Either is a possibility, but I'm much more inclined to believe the former, because of your reaction. I think the eliminators are trying to make us get rid of our own PMs, rather than making them use a kill for it. And I assume that someone has Seeked Wyrm by now, and I believe someone would have said, if he turned out evil. So there's that.
  13. Hmm, interesting point. Meta, did you ever clarify the Day order of actions? Because the Night one is in the original post, but not the day.
  14. Thanks! I've got a link to the google doc by now, so anyone can PM me if you want to see it. And I'll probably put it up on the Game Creation thread relatively soon, once I figure out a few details.
  15. I'll sign up for an MR, likely my forthcoming LotR game.
  16. I know what you're saying, and I don't know that you're wrong. I just personally think that it lowers those four on my suspicions list, because it feels to me like a situation where the Diagrammists weren't at all interested in involving themselves. I could be wrong, sure, but I think it's a point in their favor. (I'm not trying to say it soft-clears them, though. That's a bit much.)
  17. I'm basically on hiatus except for SE.

  18. Here you go. Venture (4): Mailliw, Haelbarde, Alvron, Kipper Stink (2): Stink, Hellscythe Hreo (1): Wyrm Mark IV (1): luckat No votes were changed that I can see. This indicates to me several possibilities, and likely a combination of them. Some of the Soothers/Rioters may have gone inactive. Some were happy with the lynch the way it was, I suspect. More to the point, even if there is a Spiked Rioter/Soother (which seems likely but not impossible to not have (see MR10)), they didn't use their powers, probably because they were fine with the lynch going the way it is. That in turn implies to me that this was basically pure villagers lynching villagers. It doesn't quite soft-confirm the four who voted for Venture, but I think it moves them slightly lower on the suspicions list. That could just be me, though. Stink, any reason you voted for yourself? You weren't likely to be lynched at that point, given there was only one vote on you. Just because you felt like it, or some other reason?
  19. El slept through the next day. She had been worn out from staying up the whole day and nearly the whole night as well, making sure the fires were put out. As she woke, it was already dark, and the mists were just beginning to curl into the square of blackened charcoal. She avoided thinking about him for the moment. Practicality first, he'd always said. No time to break down and cry at a death when there's someone who needs caring for in the next bed over. So, she started making arrangements. For now, she was sleeping in the Canton where meetings had been taking place. Dangerous there, but no matter. She probably wasn't any less safe in a home of someone who might be Spiked. She thought about staying and discussing, trying to find Kassien's killer. She should have been concerned about revenge, she thought. But she wasn't, not really, not like that. So she would stick to what she knew best. EDIT: I need to sleep now, so I can't fix this, but El won't be leaving until morning. She isn't leaving to gather herbs in the middle of the night. That would be dumb. Basically, ignore the below part. The store of herbs was completely gone, of course. They'd need more, and quickly. So she walked out of the Canton with a firm step, towards the hills and the forests where she could find herbs to use to heal- and maybe, to kill. Note that I'm not actually going away, like last time El went on an expedition. It's just naturally what she would do next.
  20. Exactly my thoughts. There were lots of callbacks to LG15 near the end of the game. We're suspicious of each other, the Diagrammists coming in for a last minute lynch, etc. Of course! I would definitely look forward to a rerun of this game when it happened.Other than that, I forgot to say earlier that my RP character really didn't come up as much, particularly as she was so similar to me. I'm going to try to work on that in future games, which should be easier to be a little different because all of the other characters are quite different than me. Great game, everyone!
  21. El didn't cry until afterwards. After the fire had burned down low enough that many could abandon their buckets and go back to talking or worrying or planning or whatever they were doing. After the fire had burnt down to coals, and no one was left but her, though someone had draped a cloak over her before they left. She'd forgotten her own in the rush to find Kassien. After the fire– and the house– was nothing but ashes, ashes and char, only giving off a residual heat from the stones beneath, if that. After she had walked into the house, doing her duty, checking for any bits of herbs or poisons remaining, any faint smell of danger, though she knew there was nothing. The fire had been too intense. After she had found the charred lumps that might once have been bones, maybe, and stepped over them, and walked on. Almost, then– but no. Not yet. After she walked into the space that had once been her room, a story up, where her bed had been, against the corner of the building. There was still a bit of corner left, a place to rest her back. After. She cried quietly, weeping into the cloak that did not smell like herbs and poultices, not like antiseptic or fresh pine, not like Kassien. She wept herself to sleep, on the now cold stones, as the mists came to blanket her and the house that was no longer a house, the home that was no longer a home. Her home. El didn't think about it, but the house hadn't really been her home. It wasn't the loss of the house she was missing, the bed, the herbs all so carefully stocked away. No, they weren't her home, she would have known if she could have thought, if she weren't already asleep, curled up like an infant, face still wet with tears. Kassien had been her home.
