  1. Also, apologies for my absence yesterday. I actually started this post then, but I had to pack and then I lost my keyboard and... basically, stuff happened. I think for the next few days I’ll only be posting once a cycle rather than once a day, since I am currently embroiled in packing and arranging stuff so that I can be gone for a few days. That few days I should still be able to post, though probably shorter posts than this. Anyway. Here, Arrenae, have fun with this. First of the Twilight grinned, holding a bright blue bird in her hand as she picked her way through the jungle as quickly as she dared while still moving relatively carefully. The bird suddenly shrieked very loudly, right into her ear, and went on shrieking, sounding like it was shouting death threats at her. First felt like shouting threats right back. She quickly muffled it, glaring at its eyes surrounded by fine turquoise feathers. “What’s the matter with you?” she whispered harshly. “Do you want to die in agony?” It stared back at her. “Be quiet, or else,” she said, then slowly and carefully took her hand away from its beak. It didn’t shriek again, and she continued on towards her home. Night wasn’t for a while, and she wanted to get some sleep before she came out again. You didn’t wander the jungle at night when you were tired, or else you were never heard from again. And you could never tell what had befallen the vanished: death, or just being maimed or trapped and dying of starvation, or something even worse. She shook her head. Such morbid thoughts didn’t matter in the long run. If she was going to die, it would happen, and that would be that. Her thoughts were distracting her from getting home, which was just as dangerous. She walked across the boundary that marked her territory, and relaxed marginally. She was home. Not exactly safe, but being home was good enough. I wouldn’t necessarily say that the eliminators have the most to lose. Eliminators can work together to try to guess code words and gather Aviar from Villages, which is equally dangerous to us. The thought of the Eliminators each having something like 5 Aviar is not exactly a very happy picture, wouldn’t you say? I’m not putting my vote on you again, but I still don’t like that reasoning. We don’t necessarily have to lynch on the first day. We just do, because enough of us agree that it’s more helpful. And if you feel that D1 lynches aren’t actually good, you can say so. That’s fine. I’ll try to persuade you, of course, but right now it feels like the only reason you’re saying D1 lynches are good is because everyone else thinks so, so you have to make the best of it. You put up a few reasons for this possibility, but I wanted to bring up a few more you neglected to mention. Basically, the Eliminators thought using their Aviar was more important at that point, or at least moving their Aviar around. While being forgetful does seem the most likely, this is one other possibility.
  2. I feel like you didn't see Alvron's last post before turnover.Going out of character for the rest of this post. Maybe it's because I'm tired, but I can't think of a single way to say what I want to say in character. We do not have evidence that a Serial Killer is the only day kill role. What we do have evidence of is at least one hidden role. Not that I'm saying it's not a Serial Killer. I'm just saying to be careful with your assumptions. This makes me think several things.1. If I hadn't hinted at my role to Kipper, I would be very suspicious of you right now. Why would the Eliminators already know my role? Because Lopen lied about the note? While it's possible that Lopen lied and was going to blame it on Blindness if I died, as far as I know (and Mark, correct me if I'm wrong), he didn't know where the note came from. What if it was from a Rookie Snitch, who isn't blind? That was a potentially quite large risk. So I'm more inclined to think I have Compulsive Liar, actually. 2. As I said, I did hint to Kipper what my role was, so I think the Village deserves at least that much as well. And for several reasons, I think revealing fully would be the best thing to do. I told Kipper that "my role fits my character" (or somehting like that), which if you'll remember is a warrior/thug person. That did leave a couple of options, but somone intelligent could figure it out after that last term. And my reveal will both hopefully clear me completely, and clear up some things. I'm a Strongarm. I hadn't used my action until this last turn, when I targeted Lopen, in case I did start stacking up votes and needed to prove myself. That also means we now know what Strongarm changes look like as opposed to Smoothtalker. A Snitch could still target me if they want to, but I think notes would be better spent on other people. End OOC.
  3. First of the Twilight crept from her home, carved into the base of a hollowed-out tree. She’d had to chase away a nest of palden snakes first, but it was worth it to have the relative safety of a hidden home that was also fairly comfortable and difficult to attack. While she could never really relax on Amaji (or any other island, for that matter), in her little home she felt like the threat of death was a little less pressing. She carefully replaced the covering of bark that hid her home and looked around the clearing. It was already near night, but that was okay. She felt the back of her neck, and tucked into her hood was her littlest Aviar, Imi. She’d never seen another like him, so small he could fit into her hand. Or her hood, as it happened. He was her special secret, the Aviar who gave her night vision so she could explore while most were sleeping. Other trappers couldn’t move about during the night, because the jungle was unquestionably deadly when you couldn’t see where you were going. She didn’t have any particular destination in mind that night. She simply walked in ever-increasing circles around her home, looking for any changes since she’d last come. She noted a set of fresh human tracks, dangerously close to her tree. She frowned, but continued on her way for the moment. They hadn’t come near enough to trigger any traps, so she supposed it didn’t matter if she was careful. As she neared the outskirts of her territory, First of the Twilight slowed. She didn’t dare close her eyes, but she listened very carefully. At the very edge of her hearing, she thought she could hear the sound of voices. Voices, on Amaji! What was the world coming to? With reluctance, she turned away and finished her circuit of the area. She desperately wanted to know who was talking, and why, but it was far too dangerous. If whoever it was wanted to ignore the threat of death by being torn apart by a ravening animal, that was fine. She didn’t have to endanger herself just to satisfy her curiosity. The night was drawing on towards day, and First of the Twilight sighed, then went to check her traps. There’s been a lot of discussion about code words and Aviar, which is nice, but not actually very useful in catching the Eliminators. Both sides have Aviar, and while you might be taking a Traitor’s Aviar away, you might also be taking away the Aviar of a Villager who has recently received information that they can no longer act upon because they have no Aviar, or whatever. With that said, I suppose there isn’t an enormous amount to discuss otherwise. GMs, how many vote changes do Influential players have? What about Patji kills? Other people have said this, obviously, but even within my short time playing I’ve seen two D1 eliminator lynches. So of course we can catch one. Will we? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. Kynedath, you do realize that’s somewhat illogical? You think D1 lynches are important, but you won’t vote. You just let everyone else vote for you. Imagine what would happen if everyone followed that logic. And really, it removes your voice from the conversation for the beginning of the game, when every voice is important. Why not vote now, or at least state your suspicions? You have less information, yes, I know, but so does literally everyone else (except the Eliminators, obviously), and you’ve already said you have some suspicions. Maybe they’re not very strong, but neither are anyone else’s. My vote will come off you if you vote (even if it’s for me), or if I find a stronger suspicion.
  4. Can I be Elbe, please? I think this game I'll finally be the character I've wanted to be for a while, the PM-heavy one. I know that I can't PM during the day, but even so it's the loosest PM restrictions have been in while. So, this character basically only talks in PMs. The equivalent character from my novel (not my RP character) is invisible to all but one person at any time. I will try to talk in thread about once a day cycle, but I'll keep those posts as brief as possible. It's also certainly possible (though I haven't decided yet) that I'll pick one other player who's not likely to go inactive halfway through, and only post once they've posted. (Mostly because of my novel, but also an interesting exercise.) I will let that player know in PMs, and pick someone else if necessary. Obviously, this time I will be in character in PMs, unlike usual. That will be plenty of talking, and (theoretically) wittiness. I'm not very good at being funny, though, so we'll see how that goes. Although I won't do much RP, for obvious reasons, I would appreciate suggestions on an appropriate Sanderson power. The only one I can think of is Duralumin Ferring, which is fine, but I feel like there's something better that I'm not thinking about. See you in PMs!
  5. Sorry for my absence. I've been immersed in a very intensive honor choir rehearsal and then performance. You're lucky that typing doesn't require talking or standing up, because you probably wouldn't see me for another week. But I should be paying more attention now than I have. I wish I had a hidden role. That sounds awesome. But no, I do not. Obviously, I should probably be scanned again to make sure. It'd also be nice to know if this came from Mark (and could have been because he's Blind), or another Snitch (and I have to be a Compulsive Liar). Or maybe that shouldn't be revealed, I don't know.
  6. Obviously, I haven't been on because of Bands of Mourning (which I greatly enjoyed), and then I took most of another day off from the internet because I forgot my charger and wanted to preserve the charge. But I am returned! Doesn't that sound all fancy? I can't make heads or tails of the last few days. There are too many things that happened, all of which are confusing. But I'll try! I'm going to go back through them again and see what I can find. Kipper's obviously the most involved in everything, but I don't know if that's good or bad. Basically: I have no idea about anything. Hmph. For the relevant person: rqwumvistfyESMKITk Also, that code is dumb.
  7. I believe I'll be First of the Twilight for this game. My character will be the same one as with AG2, because of a number of factors. (The limited PMs in this game means I can't go on to my next character, I am heartily tired of my current character in LG16, and I had a lot of fun with the character in AG2, basically.) See here for an explanation of what I'm talking about in general. My specific character is sarcastic and occasionally arrogant (which is a new flavor not present in AG2). He's also very prone to an enormous amount of RP. Basically, I try to do one with every single post. I may not be doing quite as much RP as in AG2, unfortunately, because school exists. But I will certainly try. On with the game!
  8. I'm guessing it's because Meta's taken into account the inactives. Weiry publicly stated he wouldn't be coming back, Creccio hasn't been on in quite a while, and several others are inactive enough that it'd just be impossible to win. Good game, guys!
  9. Apologies; I took a brief break from SE in celebration of my birthday. Doing so may have been a poor chioce, however. First off. Did no one see this post? Or is everyone just ignoring it for no apparent reason? Look: I am definitely prepping that scene, by the way. Now, I'm actually not going to vote for Mark, surprising as that may be. There aren't very many scenarios that could have led to a Spiked revealing. (Mark, if you're innocent, and you fake revealed for discussion purposes, you deserve what you get.) First, that tells me that we're very close to losing. That's bad. Second, Mark is almost certainly actually a Thug. Why try to draw votes otherwise? That's another reason I know we're very close to losing. Third, trying to draw votes means we were probably close to lynching someone actually Spiked. The best candidate for that from last cycle is definitely Ripple. The only person you could (kind of) plausibly argue for is Sart, and I trust him a good deal more. Sorry for saying this so late into the cycle. I really wish my birthday hadn't fallen at such a crucial time for this game.
  10. In that case.... Hero. Ripple. Might not do much, but I'm now inclined to believe you. Sorry, Meta, if I changed anything.
  11. Sorry for not taking my vote off you, Hellscythe. I was going to, but I was gone for four hours before turnover and got back later than I expected, so I didn't get the chance to. But it looks like my vote was taken off anyway, so that's good, I guess. (I also forgot to search, so it's not because of that.)
  12. Weiry is male, by the way.I unfortunately didn't manage a complete reread of the thread, due to unfortunate circumstances (I didn't get home until 9, I was very nearly co-GM for MR11 unexpectedly, and then today there were two unforeseen hours in a car), but I did read through a portion (up to C3, I think?), and I'm beginning to believe Maill was right, and Mark is an eliminator. There are various things that make me think that. For instance, he was very suspicious of Wyrm, who we now know to be innocent. But then, so were several people who have been proven innocent since, so that alone isn't a determining factor. Though it is worth noting that as far as I've read, he's the only person still alive to have cast suspicion on Wyrm, and I would think there would be an eliminator in there somewhere. He also posts something in a code on N2. What was that, Mark? I don't recall ever learning. The most damning factor, in my opinion, is this quote: This is directly after we managed to kill Lopen. He was extraordinarily excited about that lynch, more than any other person who posted a reaction. This is often an eliminator tactic, as I and others have found in various games. Also, he asks to be Smoked in that same post. While it's ostensibly because Soothers wouldn't be able to affect his vote, it strikes me as also very useful for an Eliminator, having an extra smoke for a cycle or two. Even mentioning the possibility lowered the likelihood he would be targeted by a Seeker that night. I won't put a vote on him, though, because it's unfortunately too late in the cycle to try to lynch him anyway.
  13. And what if Kipper hadn't gotten the note? What if someone else had? You'd out yourself for nothing. Did you think about that, huh? What the storms makes you think this is a good idea? Why would knowing a half-true role distribution be helpful? The eliminators may know a good deal, sure. But they don't know everything, and we really shouldn't tell them free of charge. In fact, that seems quite like an eliminator plan, Hellscythe.
  14. Not entirely sure what you meant here...Vote tally: Elkanah (3): Sart, Hero, Phattemer Sart (0): Hero Hero (1): Elbereth Other thoughts will have to wait until later.
  15. Wasn't there a Tineye message that claimed Mistborn? Or was that from one of the claimed Tineyes? I don't recall, which is why I'm planning on a thread reread tonight. ...Right. I did in fact forget. However, I'm not actually particularly suspicious of Mark, so I'll be keeping my vote on you. For now.
  16. I think I understand what you're saying except the last sentence. So in your situation, Meta is innocent, and the traitors redirected a scan towards one of themselves to cast suspicion on him.So why do the traitors need a bodyguard? I don't get that. I don't think anyone really wants to kill Meta right now. There's too many possibilities that things might go wrong. So, why don't we wait a day, and have both the Snitches target Meta, and give their notes to two different people (not Kipper)? There must be problems with that, but it's a starting point.
  17. Well, I think it could be helpful. Not because of role distributions, but because at least some roles can be proven, eliminating them from the "maybe Spiked Smoker/Soother", though that doesn't necessarily mean they're not Spiked. Unfortunately, my role can't be proven, given that I'm a Regular Villager. So I'll have to stay on that list, at least. Sart, you might want to put Weiry into your full inactive list. He explicitly said he wouldn't be coming back to the game. I think I trust Sart for now. I kind of want to lynch Hero, but I also feel like lynching a semi-inactive might help, because there's almost certainly a Spiked there. Unfortunately, I don't know how helpful lynching a semi-active would actually be, and I don't really have any suspicions of my own, so for the moment I'll follow Maill's dying wish and vote Hero. I'm planning on at least a partial reread tonight, though, so I may retract that if anyone else seems more suspicious. Another thought that occurred to me: What if the Spiked don't have a Smoker? What if they only have a Mistborn who got incredibly lucky and drew Copper the cycle Maill died? Unlikely, I'm aware, but we should keep it in mind as a possibility. After all, there was only one Seeker that we know of, and at this point another one is somewhat unlikely.
