  1. Okay. I'll live with that. You still working on those big analysis posts of each player? I still have no idea what Lomion's character is... I should do some RP for him. (Or her. I haven't even decided on gender yet, really.) Or I could go keep reading through LG3... (which has some... decidedly odd bits) Or rereading Codex Alera... or, actually, dinner. Dinner is a good thing. Is it just me, or is the thread this game noticeably more casual and with shorter posts than normal? I'm not sure I like that, but it's interesting.
  2. How about the extraordinarily obvious and on the nose claim of Channeler? Yes. Maill is correct. That's the one I meant. (I also saw Whitecloak, but you've foreshadowed that before.)
  3. I considered that, but I thought there would be reference to a dead Warder in the RP in that case. I'd really like to be wrong about that.
  4. So, assuming that he could get a Channeler to target him (unlikely in my opinion, although it kind of depends on who the Channelers are), he'd also have to lie about being detained and hope that no one countered him on that. Maybe it's just me, but it was my impression that only one person was detained last cycle. So that'd be really easy to counterclaim, and then boom, he gets lynched. In your version, he didn't even know if anyone would be targeting him, so there's really not that much of an advantage to claiming that he was detained just on the off chance that someone did target him. Also, he claimed while everyone was thinking that the detainee might have been an eliminator. Still not sure why he did that, actually. Even worse move to lie about it, though. And he's also claimed Dreamwalker. Why do both? I mean, he could be Fain... But I'm really not seeing it. And if your theory is true, we'll see it when he dies tonight to the Wolfbrother kill. Which would be just fine with me.
  5. I'm fairly sure they're told at the beginning of the day. That's what usually happens with conversions, anyway. But... how do you explain the detained claim, though? That's the thing that still doesn't make sense if he's Fain.
  6. True. But he was detained. We can't prove that, since the only known Whitecloak is dead and would've been unlikely to tell the truth to us anyway. But if he wasn't detained, I'm not sure why no one counterclaimed him, and since if he were Fain he wouldn't be in contact with Gunshy so he couldn't have just lied about it that way. So... I can't really see him lying about being detained without being a Darkfriend. And thus probably not Fain. (Although it would be interesting if Fain started out as a Darkfriend... That's a possibility we probably shouldn't discount. Unlikely, but possible. And amusing. )
  7. I was not the only one who claimed to you. I know for a fact that Wilson did as well. Agreed. I've done the same thing. That way is much more fun. And in a lot of cases, there's no reason you have to clarify that. So why would you make their job easier? Better to leave the players to wonder. So I disagree that Elodin started out as a Corrupted. Particularly because I don't know what the order of actions was last time, but in this case corruption comes before kills, so we would have had to lynch Fain on D1 in order to prevent a Corruption. (Or roleblocked and killed him N1, I guess.) Which is very unlikely as long as Fain is careful.
  8. Why the storms would a safe role just go and PM someone who asked for it? In what world is that good strategy? You mean, you remember killing them?
  9. That's an interesting conclusion. I'm not sure why Fain would corrupt someone under so much suspicion... I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Unless you're saying you think he started as a Corrupted. Which... I mean, it's possible, and it's not against the rules, but I regard it as somewhat unlikely. Because detainments are publicly announced. So if someone is detained, we'll see, and we'll know there's another Whitecloak. (Of course, we won't be able to prove that there's not another whitecloak if there isn't a detention because that Whitecloak could have been roleblocked or deliberately chosen not to detain someone for some strange reason. But it will be more likely.) Oh, okay. I wasn't sure about that.
  10. Well, there were safe roles in MR13 (the Companions), and you were in that. And the Shards in LG14 were technically safe roles, I think? So your memory is indeed rubbish.
  11. No, the dreamwalker's not always good. But the idea is that the Wolfbrother who killed Orlok targets Elodin tonight, in order to figure out whether Elodin is actually a Dreamwalker or was lying about it and only detained by Gunshy. (As it stands we'll have to target him again tomorrow night in order to ensure he didn't just get Mask of Mirrors cast on him, unfortunately, unless anyone else can think of a better plan.) That won't completely clear him from being evil, but unless there is another Whitecloak (which we'll know by morning), he'll be at least soft-cleared because why would Gunshy detain him if he was going to be untargetable anyway?
  12. ?? The point of targeting him is to prove his claim. Not to kill him. Where did you get that idea?
  13. No, he hasn't been cleared. I personally don't think he's an eliminator because there was basically no objection to lynching him for most of the day (and also I don't think we're so phenomenally lucky as to have both of the lynch candidates be Darkfriends...), but he isn't cleared. We're hopefully testing his claim of Dreamwalker tonight by targeting him with a Wolfbrother kill (although as I've mentioned already, there's the problem of a Darkfriend Channeler faking that by using Mask of Mirrors on him, and I'm not sure how to resolve that), which should at least clear things up a little bit. It's somewhat difficult to actually clear him, though, particularly when he can't be scanned while in the Dreamrealm.
  14. o.O Ouch. I do recall that, when we were talking about clean sweeps at some point and you (or someone else?) brought up the only ever village clean sweep. That's not fun. At all.
  15. LG19 might have killed two or three in a row. That'd be not counting the nights/days where no one was lynched, though... Yeah. Deathclutch was killed one night and Yafe was lynched the next day. Far as I know there haven't ever been three in a row, though.
  16. I also highly advise against this, because telling the whole world who you're going to scan is just ripe for interference. If the Darkfriends have a Channeler, they'll use Mask of Mirrors on your target to stop us from learning anything, for instance. If Elodin weren't already going to be in the dream realm and thus untargetable anyway. He already claimed Dreamwalker, and we're testing that claim tonight. Pick someone else, please.
  17. So you know, we apparently have a Wolfbrother killing inactives right now. I suggest you participate if you don't want to get killed. Welcome, Joe! Um. I'm... confused what you mean by this. Elodin was eliminator-killed but was in the dream realm and not detained? He was in Tel'Aran'Rhiod and detained? Something else? Good question. So. We have several possibilities here, I think. Elodin is an eliminator - Either Gunshy protectively detained Elodin in order to stop him from being vig-killed, or they made that up ( veryunlikely as then Straw would have to be lying too). Or, there's another Whitecloak out there who detained him. (If so, we should hopefully know by morning. If there is another Whitecloak, please detain someone so we know you exist!) Elodin is a villager - Presumably he's telling the truth about being detained. Thus, unless someone gets detained tonight (which, as I said, we will know before we start lynching people again), Gunshy will have been the one who detained him (presumably not knowing about his dreamwalking?). Thus the eliminators didn't attack him unless they didn't understand how Whitecloaks work (possible, if they thought it was just a normal roleblock or whatever, but seems somewhat unlikely). If there is another Whitecloak, things get murkier, but I still agree it'd be bad strategy to kill the villagers' top suspect, particularly when that person might be getting vig-killed anyway. Basically, it comes down to whether there's another Whitecloak or not, and hopefully we'll know the answer to that in the morning and can discuss it with more information then. The nice thing about the plan to attack Elodin is that if he is an eliminator (and not a Dreamwalker), the eliminators just lost at least one form of protecting him from a kill. Now, they could still have a channeler, which would enable them to mimic a Dreamwalker rather nicely with Mask of Mirrors. That's a problem, and I can't think of any way to solve it but attempting to kill him tonight and then again tomorrow night. Anyone have any better ideas? Okay, so we've killed two Darkfriends already, which is impressive. If there's four of them (which seems somewhat likely given Corrupted also factoring in to the evil team numbers), that's half. So... I think we need to start focusing on Padan Fain a bit more. The longer we don't find him, the harder it will be to kill him (or her, obviously - I really dislike using the generally agreed upon pronoun for roles like Fain, Endowment, etc, but I also hate using him/her all the time...>>). Honestly, I don't really know how to do that beyond looking for changes in behavior. It's a lot harder to analyze relationships when there's only two of them. But I do think it's worth noting that Padan Fain is something we need to focus more on. Which reminds me... Aman, where'd you go? I feel like you just dropped off the face of the earth at some point... Um... not really, no. I can see where you're coming from, but I still hold that the eliminators would want to be killing, not just sitting back and making people suspicious of each other. Sorry, but I still don't think it's likely.
  18. Oh, hey, that reminds me of what I was going to say and forgot - (soft) confirmed good is not confirmed right. Just saying.
  19. That's fair, Maill. Two minutes left in the cycle. As a heads up, I'll probably have to leave before turnover is posted, so unfortunately I can't just PM everyone who I didn't get to PM last night because I was travelling the whole time. I am planning to contact everyone tonight, though. Hopefully we can get some PMs exchanged before turnover tomorrow. 24-hour nights are irritating PM-wise. EDIT: At this point I highly doubt that Gunshy's evil, but at least this last couple of hours should give some interesting material for discussion.
