There's the Ultimate List, but it's really hard to keep updated. It's best to just check and see if your questions have been answered.

I don't think anyone has asked, since I got the answer that they were looking for the Cryptic pretty recently.

Maybe because they want to try and corrupt another Radiant spren, or maybe as a hostage or for ransom? I don't think Brandon has answered.

Who would you cast for a Stormlight TV/Movie?
RShara replied to TequilaJack's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, the forum search isn't great. Here are a couple of threads: And my picks: (Just as a reminder, all Rosharans except the Shin have epicanthic folds, and most are very dark skinned, and black haired. Brandon describes most of them as a mix of Asian/Middle Eastern/Polynesian/Indian. The Shin would be the closest to Caucasian that we would find on Roshar.) For Dalinar Ken Watanabe or Donnie Yen Godfrey Gao for Kaladin Sammo Hung for Sadeas For Shallan Park Hye Min or Mirei Kiritani Nyle DiMarco as Adolin Maggie Q as Jasnah David Bautista as Rock Jimmy Yang as Renarin Michelle Yeoh as Navani -
Yeah it's basically the Mitsubishi logo

Dalinar was Ascended during that period, so it's reasonable that he gained some knowledge and a sense of who is/will be in what Order. The Spiritual Realm is time-independent, so recognizing people who are likely to be Radiants in the future should be something that he could do.

*cackles* Another convert!

Oh, I see. You are asking about Gavilar summoning his Shardblade, not Dalinar summoning a Shardblade (you might want to edit your post to say that you're wondering if Gavilar is bonded to a normal spren. I thought you meant Dalinar). The average resting heart rate for an active older male in great shape is around 60 bpm. So around 1 beat every second. However, it is sped up by activity and emotion. So since Gavilar was at dinner, engaging in conversation, etc, let's guess it's at around 80 bpm. He would realize he's in danger before he starts summoning his Shardblade, so his heartrate would already kick up into fight or flight mode. Possibly somewhere around 100-120 bpm. That would take something like 5-8 seconds for his Shardblade to appear. I think we can agree that it took Dalinar that long to kill the assassin. (Note 1: Gavilar had time to crash down in his chair, stare with horror, then jump up again, before his Shardblade appeared) (Note 2: I just checked and it took 6 seconds for my heart to beat 10 times, just sitting here typing)

Welcome to the Shard! I'm a little confused as to your question. Are you wondering if the knife he used to kill the assassin was a Shardblade? He grabbed the assassin's knife and used that to kill him.

Protecting the one who killed your promises
RShara replied to Ripheus23's topic in Stormlight Archive
It sounded like it was referring to Moash and Elhokar. Moash saved Kaladin's life. Elhokar killed his promises. He raises his hand and claims his status as Windrunner, and forms the SylBlade. So I guess you could loosely compare it to Kaladin's third Ideal? -
This is so true. But nope, we got confirmation they were looking for the dang Cryptic.

It was in the books, Venli sees geometric lines around Dalinar's arm, when he saves her from falling into Odium's abyss.
-
Theoretically possible, yes.
-
Nah, it was a regular Cryptic. Especially since we see it at the end of OB, and it looks completely normal.

Sorry, you're late Yeah, Elhokar was seeing Cryptics that far back, as foreshadowing that he was on the Lightweaver path. Very cool spotting, nonetheless!

Yeah, Taldain's investiture definitely comes from the sun. You can use it off-planet as long as the light reaches you.

Welcome to the site! Per the site rules: Also, it's could have and would have not "of" Sorry, couldn't resist!

Can you be more specific as to what you're looking for?

There's a small bag of atium that Marsh has been using. Sazed could probably make some atium if he wanted, but I don't know that he wants to. His natural god-metal is harmonium. We saw the Pits in SoS, and they were empty of geodes and crystals.

MAG isn't canon, though. We know all Terris males who were trained to be stewards were castrated. We don't know what percentage of the rest of the population were. However, most Terris males did become stewards, there would be a fairly small population of fertile males. Note he says that many of the Synod were eunuchs, not all of them. That's as much info as we got.

The diagram mentioned in that second WoB is the picture I posted

Here's a series of sketches by Ben McSweeney kind of illustrating how they work (Ben one of the SA illustrators)

Didn't we discuss this and conclude that any type of color from any planet would work as fuel for Awakening? The key point being Azure able to Awaken those bales of cloth in Shadesmar?

It's definitely a little odd, and seems to violate the laws of thermodynamics. But this is what Brandon says:
