Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yep, and we ended amicably. I just thought I'd offer that as a suggestion now, as well. -
Previously unknown Orders discovered by my phone

Elsecallefs, Jasnah's Dark Jedi alter ego. I'm eager to make bonds with Nahel Soren, myself. -
Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
I feel like at this point, everyone is just talking past each other and that we should agree to disagree before we start getting upset -
Was the Stormfather summoned as a blade
RShara replied to OneArmHerdazion's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah I don't think it because fully physical. Dalinar just reached out, grabbed a chunk of power, and shoved it into the lock. It had just enough form to work the Oathgate. And it hurt the Stormfather a lot.- 10 replies

Granted. They'd be Type 3's, but still suuuupppppper hard to do and the results would probably be unpredictable.

Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
He might have been watching for them, but we don't see him actually finding any until recently. -
Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
No? They only started bonding again recently, because they could sense a Desolation coming, and the enemy of their enemy is their friend. Better to risk possible death for a few by bonding than to risk death for all with Odium threatening. No spren, other than the Skybreakers who didn't break their Oaths anyway, has bonded in over 2000 years. -
Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
It worked for over 2000 years. I think that's success by most measurements. -
A regular Breath is very hard to spike out, because it's not part of the spiritweb, like the ability to perform Allomancy or Feruchemy is. It would also be fairly hard to Awaken a Spike, since it's metal, and would need the 9th Heightening and require a really good concept of Commands. Remember that metal and stone are the hardest things to Awaken, and count as Type IV Biochromatic entities. Such as Nightblood. Their creation does not appear to be simple or easy. And at that point, they're so Invested with Breath that trying to use them as a Hemalurgic spike would probably not work at all, since Investiture resists Investiture.

Worldhoppers and immortality/time travel
RShara replied to aneonfoxtribute's question in Cosmere Q&A
You do age there. But there seems to be a way for people to create areas of time dilation, which would "slow down" aging. The person in Secret History was dead. He didn't have a physical body. So no need to eat, breath, rest, sleep, or age. -
Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes, that's the WoB I got Jebus to ask for me in order to prove point 9 of my theory. What's more likely to work, being told, "No you shouldn't bond because it might destroy the world." or "Humans killed our friends and family, they can't be trusted, we're never bonding again!" The very fact that they *didn't* just walk away, since they *could* have, is a big chunk of proof that they did agree and were in on the whole thing. I cover this on page 5, when Jebus got me that WoB Edit: Oh, I think we're reading the WoB differently. To me, Brandon is saying the spren can break the bond at any time, though it could be dangerous to do so. Not that both the spren and the Radiant need to agree to break it. "Once you've chosen on both sides to create the bond, breaking it is dangerous." "Yes, the spren can break it if it wants to, safely." -
Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
But in my theory, I explain this The spren had to die, in order to horrify all the other spren into being too angry and too filled with hatred of humans to want to bond again. Just telling them would not have served nearly the same purpose. -
Could the Radiants have wanted to kill their order?
RShara replied to Renen's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yup, that was part of the reasoning in my theory. The Radiants decided that they were a danger to the world. The spren agreed. And they both came up with the plan to end spren wanting to bond with humans by having the spren die in a horrifying and traumatic/dramatic way. Here is the thread here on the Shard -
Effects of combining magics from different worlds
RShara replied to Nnatel's question in Cosmere Q&A
Also, pretty sure Mraize is trying to collect all the magics, too. And has even succeeded in a few things that Hoid failed at. -
I'd say it was because while Ishar would hold the powers of Tension and Adhesion, he wasn't actually bonded to a spren. So he didn't count as one of the "three." Plus, he'd only be there during the most desperate of times (until Aharietiam) so people would probably not quibble about it.

Well we have no idea what is involved in his theory of how to bring someone back from the Beyond. It might involve Connections to every planet, or a certain baseline of investiture, or he needs them in order to get what he actually needs, or he just really likes to have a variety of powers.

I think that is actually the point that Sanderson is making. The religion isn't evil, just some of the practices and leaders are. I mean, his choice to show Hrathen as ultimately a hero, to me, shows that he's trying to say, No it's not evil, but much of what happens under its aegis is evil right now.

https://coppermind.net/wiki/Category:Epigraphs is a good reference Most of them are going to be about the future, so perhaps someone who becomes cosmere aware will say it at some point?
-
Yep, that's the theory I've been expounding, at least. I should probably finally make a topic on the matter.

How Would Ruin Have Gotten the Atium? What does that mean?
RShara replied to MasterK-Bob's question in Cosmere Q&A
He would have had to burn it. -
Effects of combining magics from different worlds
RShara replied to Nnatel's question in Cosmere Q&A
That was what a lot of people thought at the time, because Brandon wouldn't confirm that Hoid burned the lerasium. But he recently (in the last month or so) confirmed that Hoid did burn the lerasium, so that's laid to rest now.
