Ruin's power isn't to steal or absorb other Shard's powers, though. Ruin is the essential entropy of the universe. Anyone with sufficient Connection, in the right place and time, can absorb an unheld Shard's power. Witness Sazed, Kelsier... When Nightblood was created, the Command "Destroy Evil" and whatever visualization Shashara had, and who knows what other factors, caused a chunk of Ruinous investiture to be incorporated into Nightblood. And as time went on, as he consumed investiture, he kept some part of everything he destroyed, growing slowly stronger. Yes, all Shardblades cut on all three Realms. They first cut the Spiritual/Cognitive, then the Physical (or maybe first the Spiritual, then the Cognitve/Physical). Nightblood just vaporizes instead of simply cutting.

I'm sorry, but Brandon never says that location is important in the Spiritual Realm. Actually, he says the opposite numerous times. The Spiritual Realm is time and location independent, so you can travel instantly between any two points (assuming you manage to "travel" around there in the first place). Spren are largely Cognitive and Physical creatures, so they're tied to where the majority of the power they stem from is concentrated and where the...consciousness? of the Shard they're tied to is Invested. The Shard Invests in the planet, the spren are tied to that location and the Investiture in that location. I do agree that planets, at least, have their own spiritweb. I'm not so sure about countries and cities. Investiture is only localized on Sel, and that's because the Shardic power is shoved into the Cognitive Realm instead of the Spiritual Realm. So where you're born and Connected to makes a difference in how you use investiture. On Scadrial, as long as you have the right genes, you can be from or live on any area of the planet and be born an Allomancer or Feruchemist. On Roshar, anyone who can attract the right type of spren can become any type of surgebinder.

He's like a Shardblade 2.0. All Shardblades cut on all three Realms. Nightblood just also destroys on all three Realms. I suspect it has to do with his chunk of Ruin, myself.

None of these mention points of power converging into shapes, or spren, for that matter. The lesser spren are at least sentient--they're aware enough to be attracted to emotions and some of them exhibit predator behavior when the crew is physically in Shadesmar. As spren with their own Identities, even lesser ones, it should interfere with investiture being used on it. Or, if the lesser spren don't have enough Identity to interfere, then they shouldn't interfere with anyone *else* using investiture on them. And there's still the problem of how Shardplate shatters and turns to dust or regrows...

Psst, this is still from 2014 And yeah, Vin isn't Iyatil. That was solidly disproven by Secret History.

Only for Kelsier. *slurrrrrp*

I covered most of those in my post above None of the lesser spren are around when the Radiants are actually close to manifesting Plate or are actually Manifesting Plate. Kaladin thinks briefly on the 4th Oath and he draws windspren to him. But when he's actually trying to swear it, there's no windspren around. And the Oath doesn't mean Plate auto-appears around them. It seems to take intention and thought. Not sure how that's relevant. No spren around when she's doing that.

More than likely

It was a while later, a few days, iirc. They were still on the ship at the time, and the place where he failed to say the 4th was by Thaylenah, and they had to walk quite a ways.
-
No, because he hadn't even sworn the 4th Ideal yet, nor was he close to it. And those were windspren, which is what I mentioned in my post above. He wasn't even thinking of the 4th Ideal at that moment.
-
I think people believe this due to Kaladin attracting windspren in Shadesmar and during his windbreak, in OB, Shallan attracting creationspren when she's really in the zone for her art, and the masses of gloryspren around Dalinar. I really liked the theory at first but it actually has a ton of holes in it, so I'm on the other side of the fence now. 1. We never see any spren around the Radiants when they are actually close to or in the process of manifesting Plate, such as Dalinar in the vision with Venli, the Radiants in the Starfalls visions, and Jasnah when Adolin sees glowing lines fading around her. 2. As lesser spren, they would have their own Identity, which would prevent them from being able to affect it with their surges, but again, in the Starfalls vision, the Windrunners were able to Lash themselves in their Shardplate. 3. Pieces of Shardplate can be completely shattered and destroyed. What would that do to the spren? 4. If you regrow Shardplate, it can form completely new pieces and any fragments in others' hands crumble to dust. Again, how would this work with lesser spren? 5. We never see any spren around when Shardplate is shattered, destroyed, regrown, etc. 6. Radiants hear the spren scream when they touch a dead Shardblade. They never hear screaming with inert Shardplate. I'm sure there are more reasons I'm forgetting.

Szeth - A Shard's champion(Probably Cultivations)
RShara replied to CleverCremling's topic in Stormlight Archive
Helping doesn't necessarily mean she would have a champion, though. -
Not sure if this was rhetorical or not, but it's very small, and is embedded in the chest bone.

IIRC, didn't Miles end up not being able to feel pain at all, and described what sounded to me like being strung out when he wasn't tapping? Like, he was getting a high from the gold healing, and when he wasn't tapping it, he just didn't feel as good as when he was.

So I just wanted to mention, again, that this thread was from 2014, 5 years ago. Before Secret History or even Shadows of Self and Bands of Mourning came out. Secret History confirms Vin is dead and Beyond. We literally see her go Beyond. SA takes place before Era 2, so before Marasi even met Allik, let alone learned about the cosmere. Brandon has said we haven't seen Iyatil before, that she was born in Silverlight and that she's South Scadrian in the same way he'd be considered Danish.

Is that confirmed or speculation, though? And also, just because the Knights were, doesn't mean their spren are. -

I don't remember Cultivation and Lightweavers being associated with each other? -
And we see from Vin's PoV during that entire sequence, and Ruin isn't there. Ruin was quite literally controlling Quellion at the time..
-
Hemalurgy requires Intent and very precise placement. Vin wasn't intending to create a spike, nor did she know how to do it, so it is not a Hemalurgic spike at all.
-
We actually see the Pits in SoS, and they're empty of geodes and crystals alike, so they're not producing atium any more. Brandon's also said that there is no more atium, other than what was left over from Era 1.
-
Aging someone isn't easy. Manipulating age, which is part of the spiritweb and isn't easy to change, has so far required something like atium, which is a god-metal, to accomplish. I highly doubt simple healing or Progression would work for it.
-
Mmmm I like how this necro follows a post explaining necroing and why it's bad Also, Mistborn Era 2 is after Stormlight Archive books 1-5, so that wouldn't work out.

Since it was a coppermind, Pushing on it would be somewhat difficult. I doubt it was needed, anyway.
