  1. How would they have made those metals with the technology they had? And in the time that they had. Not to mention the whole workforce, lack of resources, and impending end of the world.
  2. She might have, but she never had a chance to communicate about them.
  3. You missed Frost on that list, who is dedicated to neutrality. He'd have no reason to lie. Why are we assuming Odium showed his true self to Dalinar in that scene? Odium lies, even to himself. Lack of inhibitions != Passion. But if he doesn't stay honorable, he breaks the bond. Actually Honor in this context doesn't mean morality. It's simply the concept of being bound by rules when you don't have to be. Lawful evil is lawful but still evil. You can have your opinion, and that's perfectly fine. But I think that the WoBs plus the other reasons proves pretty definitively that Odium is lying about being Passion. YMMV. Edit: Very much agree with this. Ambition could arguably be passion for advancement or achievement. Autonomy could arguably be passion for individuality and self-determination. And we know Devotion is the equivalent of love/compassion. So if Odium were Passion, he'd be Passion without Love, without desire for achievement, without desire for self-determination. Plus whatever other Shards are out there. So how much Passion could he really have at this point?
  4. As I said, we have no way to judge.
  5. I don't think we've ever had a spren race in the Physical Realm, so there's really no way to judge. They don't move through the Spiritual Realm when they're manifesting in the Physical. I actually doubt they can fully enter the Spiritual Realm, without assistance, at all.
  6. I mean, I guess there are similarities. But it's more a similar effect with a different magic system, rather than actual Awakening. Just like Heralds are the Rosharan version of Returned. I'm fond of the theory that the Fused find an old gemheart from a deceased greatshell under the crem somewhere, enter it, and possess it, and use it to form a body.
  7. In brief: 1. He and his followers are the only one that consider him Passion. 2. Frost, Hoid, the Stormfather, and Syl all call him Hatred. 3. All of the manifestations of him that we've seen involve hatred, violence, lack of inhibitions, rather than passion. 4. All of the new Rhythms from him are tinged with hatred. Not a single one has a "positive" emotion. 5. The humans we've seen who've given themselves over to him or to his agents (Dalinar and Moash) end up feeling empty, not passionate. 6. This WoB that he's incapable of being honest with himself about being Hatred. JordanCon 2018 (April 21, 2018)
  8. There actually were spren before Honor.
  9. @GoWibbleSorry, what? I'm not sure what you're trying to say there?

    How much time

    According to this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lhDsguAXEFT8hxHDrJ7wr8ht7GV35RbHxKX9qkD6bHM/edit#gid=2005334307 It's been not-quite 2 years.

    Rhythms

The Rhythms are the Rosharan version of something that happens throughout the Cosmere. As in, they're independent of the singers hearing them. Brandon's said that Seekers should be able to hear the Rhythms, too.
  12. Several highstorms passed while they were traveling, though.
  13. I don't think Skar and Drehy have yet, otherwise they wouldn't have needed Kaladin to come pick them up at the end of Oathbringer. I imagine they will soon, though, due to their actions there.
  14. There are a lot of theories, but we don't have anything concrete on their origination, other than that Roshar isn't the first planet they've migrated to (it's probably the 4th).
  15. It's been closer to 10k years since then, btw. 4500 years ago was just when the Heralds abandoned the Oathpact, after millennia of Desolations. There've also been multiple waves of migration to Roshar, so in 10k years, it makes sense that an epicanthic fold would spread out and become the default, given the nature and ferocity of the highstorms (going off the belief that the fold gives a slight advantage when trying to peer through rain and wind).
  16. Yep. Search Arcanum for "Purelake+fish" and they should come up.
  17. They have spren bonds, which make them different than regular fish, similar to Ryshadium. Sixth of the Dusk spoilers
  18. Not to mention, Odium was almost certainly also there, influencing people. It's not hard to convince a goodly section of a human population that they're the superior race, and that they're "owed" domination and land whenever they want it. Plus the whole Cognitive Shadows look the way they think of themselves/they're expected to look thing.

    steel sight

Yep. That's how Kelsier "saw" Vin listening through the door a couple times.
  20. RShara

    steel sight

Nope, they actually "see" the lines.
  21. RShara

    steel sight

Yes, they can see the lines behind them. Vin and Wax both push on things behind them that they didn't "look" at prior to Pushing.
  22. FYI, if you have an account on Arcanum, you can save WoBs to a Collection, which you can view. That way, you can save the ones that you like or have a hard time finding. Also, is this the passage you're thinking of?
  23. It's hard to say, because we don't know the exact reason why gems crack when used for Soulcasting, recharging Plate, etc. (I always imagine it as the same reason why hydrophane opals crack if they're dried out too quickly, though). If the cracking is due to the sudden removal of supporting media (Stormlight) causing stressthen it would make sense that perfect gems wouldn't crack, or would crack very very seldom, because stress would cause cracks along imperfections first. Even without imperfections, though, enough stress would eventually cause imperfections, and thus eventually they would crack. At least, that's how I think of it in my head.
  24. I'm going to trust the actual singer statements to speculation, sorry.
  25. But they have multiple forms even now. And they've certainly seen enough of their dead with the current war. I think it makes more sense that for a while, humans did try to harvest their bodies for their gemhearts, eventually accepted that their gemhearts weren't worth anything, and stopped, but the remembrance of that is what the taboo of interfering their dead comes from.
