  1. That's the key bit that I didn't know. Thank you!
  2. I wanted to compile all the WoB from his signing Q&A's. Please feel free to add your signing questions to this thread or link to your thread and I'll try to keep this top post updated. I edited out non-WoR text to try and keep the length down, but I linked the original thread for those who want the full session. Also minor edits for spelling. Questions that came up a lot that I deleted to shorten this post: Midnight Signing http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6405-information-from-the-midnight-signing-spoilers/ Huntington Beach http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6497-word-of-brandon-from-huntington-beach-signing/ Seattle http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6583-adolin-Shardblades-skybreakers-wob-seattle-new-info-wor-spoilers-elantris-spoliers/ http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6593-seattle-signing/ Ness http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6579-seattle-signing-report/ JamHeretic http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6584-seattle-signing-orders-and-surges-confirmed-d/ Oregon http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6534-oregon-signing-march-2014/?p=107507 http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6421-the-nature-of-the-spiritual-realm/ San Diego http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6439-audio-from-the-san-diego-signing/ http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6523-hoid-drinking-at-the-fair-cosmere-implications/#entry106083 DefiantBurrito San Francisco http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6587-san-francisco-signing-audio/ Naranth Houston http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6743-brandons-answers-in-houston-311-signing/?p=110173 Scottsdale Omaha Sir Jerric http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6777-questions-for-omaha-signing-3-13-2014/page-3 Lexington http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6984-lexington-ky-signing/ Sirscott13 http://imgur.com/SvECwR9 One Dawnshard is different from the rest. 3. I guess I'm dense then, because I don't actually remember any specific dates, other than month and year? Other than can be guessed from the countdown, of course. Example:
  4. In the image preceding Chapter 11, there are what seem to be glyphs or letters in blocks on the top and bottom of the illustration. They look like decorations at first glance but at second and third, they could be Alethi script, or some other form of writing? I mentioned the radial stamp because it might be a way of laying out the numbers to possibly form coherent words?
  5. Hmmm for a radial pattern, if you look at the map of Roshar, the stamp on the lower right corner is written in a rotation.
  6. Someone should compile all of these into one thread for easy referencing
  7. Too bad that they don't get more specific than months during the book (journals, mention of dates, etc). I was thinking those might be dates of when the Everstorm clashes with a regular highstorm?
  8. Reminded me of Deep Space Nine and "Bennie" writing out their stories.
  9. Shallan does say that she saw Jasnah stabbed through the heart, but I don't know how reliable her account is, given that she was probably pretty freaked out at the time.
  10. It makes sense. I haven't read any of his unpublished works, alas, although I'd really like to! I don't think they're available anywhere...thus the unpublished part
  11. Ah, so calling him an old lizard was probably not a joking epithet!
  12. I don't see how it could be Harmony. Sazed/Harmony is relatively new on the Cosmere scene, and reassembled the shards of Preservation and Ruin, while the author of the letter heavily implies that he is one of the original sixteen.
  13. I'm kind of thinking it'll be somewhat like the southern Andes in South America...the western side is forested while the eastern side is dry close to the mountains because the block storms and rainfall. But I could easily be wrong--the Everstorm is much greater than most of our weather systems and its interaction with deep, cold water and sudden mountains can't be 100% predicted.
  14. Well there weren't any parshmen mentioned in any of the Shin glimpses we've had so I assume they don't have any, but you're right that we don't have proof. Also, they don't believe in Voidbringers, so who knows, I guess...lol
  15. I really detest love triangles and duty vs love, so I hope she goes with Adolin.
  16. Those poor chickens! It'll be raining chickens all over Roshar!
  17. Yeah, most likely the north and south borders of Shinovar are going to be pretty badly hit, but the center should be relatively calm. The Everstorm is going to cause a lot of problems for just about everyone, though. I wonder if the possibly lessened effect in Shinovar will be counterbalanced by them not using parshmen?
  18. I thought of this and checked out the map of Roshar. It looks like Shinovar has a good sized mountain range on the western side as well. The only big gaps are to the north and south. So if the Everstorm comes in at an angle (is the Origin to the SE?) it might get pretty bad, but if it comes in fairly westerly, then Shinovar should be safe.
  19. From Merriam-Webster caus·aladjective \ˈkȯ-zəl\ : relating to or showing the cause of something : making something happen : causing something So that second definition could make sense...as in, an agreement to create(cause) a betrothal. Too much of a stretch?
  20. I suspect someone would notice on board a ship, if she suddenly started carving or pounding out a fake version of herself Healing by stormlight makes the most sense, I think.
  21. Then she'd have to soulcast it back to the dagger, though, which would be a lot harder. And Jasnah says she's not good at organics. Blood is generally easier because it's one of the essences, but presumably still not as easy for her as smoke and fire. Another question is why didn't she just soulcast her attackers as she did before, rather than decide to play dead? I guess they could have been gone by the time that she was able to regain consciousness.
  22. I think you may be right. We don't know that she was stabbed through the heart, and either way, a stab wound is relatively quick to heal. She might have been able to heal it enough to not-die, then transit to Shadesmar pretty quickly.
