IIRC, Kandra can't use Allomancy/Feruchemy, right? So I guess his body itself is probably not a mistwraith/kandra (controlled by or embodiment of Kelsier). My problem with the kandra creating his body is that they'd need to make it out of his flesh or else it'd probably be rejected (whole body transplant, yeow). OreSeur was dead, and TenSoon definitely didn't have any of Kelsier's flesh lying around. Maybe if Kelsier was RIGHT THERE and ready to take over, they could have used some other person's(?) flesh(ew) just long enough to spike, and then let the Feruchemical gold take care of the rest/regrow that part too before rejection sets in.

There's a bit more to Hoid's story in the new novel and novella that just came out.

But you need flesh to spike. I don't think there's any instance of the bind points being in the bones. Also how old would the bones be at that point? Some years anyway. Icky lol.

I'm wanting to call them "Red points of light" at this point, myself. Wax also makes a distinction between the regular stars and the Red Rip. Maybe they're satellites placed around each Invested world by the spacefarers?

So assuming the one-eyed spike man is Kelsier, how exactly did he manage to get a physical body to anchor him to the Physical Realm? We know that Sazed refused him, and that he was plotting with Spook to find a way to get back. We also "know" that he's using Hemalurgy in some way. Some theories I've seen: He's using pure Hemalurgy to reform his body He got Spook to spike a dead or dying person (possibly Spook himself) with his "essense" somehow. He got Spook to spike a person enough that he could control them from the Cognitive Realm. He is using a kandra or mistwraith body. Kandra can't use Allomancy or Feruchemy. He eventually convinced Sazed to make him a body. He got a kandra to use his bones to generate enough flesh to spike and then he compounded Feruchemical gold. (Sorry if this is a duplicate, but the other threads I've seen dealt with the identity of the man, rather than how he came to be)

I thought Marsh too, but Kelsier makes a lot more sense, since the memory at the end of Bands shows that the person could actually see normally out of the un-spiked eye. Marsh wouldn't have been able to see at all out of that eye, right? Another thought that occurred to me....Maybe Kelsier's new body is a mistwraith that was never a Kandra?

I'm sure Sazed (persuaded by Kelsier) could have helped him.

Does anyone else love Sterris now? [Bands Spoilers]

Mmmmmm I know she saved Allik, but we didn't see a lot of her motivations or ultimate goals. -
Does anyone else love Sterris now? [Bands Spoilers]
RShara replied to mattig89ch's topic in Mistborn
You know, I can't remember, have we had a Steris viewpoint yet? Because if not, I propose that Steris is the real leader of the Set. Just because she's so awesome and everyone is coming to like her. If we haven't had a viewpoint from her showing that she definitely is not, then she probably is, because that's how Brandon's villains roll -
Ahhh, I didn't know that. I just remembered Sazed saying that he couldn't really access the Spiritual Realm even with the power of two Shards. I still wonder if it has significance with the God Beyond, though.

In Secret History, Preservation calls the Spiritual Realm, or "What Happens Next" as "Beyond". On several worlds, we've seen references to "The God Beyond." It makes me wonder if there is a unifying "God" or force that is controlling or manipulating evens from the Spiritual Realm, where Shards and their derivatives can't really see. It could even be the soul of Adonalsium, since presumably, he went Beyond after he died? What do you guys think? Coincidence or significance? On a different note, I'm really surprised that Spook didn't decide to hang around like Kelsier after he died.

He's definitely not the archtypical "good" guy. My take on him is that he does want what's "best" for the Cosmere at large, but that he's certainly willing to go to any lengths to achieve that goal, a la "Ends justify the means." He has said he's willing to let an entire planet of people burn in order to achieve his goals. His goals could also be completely and ultimately good for him and no one else.

What's funny is I just thought of this idea of making a Mistborn today, and here is the thread I was looking for!
-
Elantris(revised) Ars Arcanum "If I can wax prosaic, it is almost as if the common letters are subjects submitting before their gods." Shouldn't that be "wax poetic" ? Prosaic is like, normal, every day hum drum, and the phrase seems more poetic or metaphorical than prosaic.

I theorize that they are Elantrians that went through the shardpool above Elantris. They thought they were getting peace and rest, but instead, got transported to the Cognitive Realm.

I think Khriss is just one person on this board, and is reading all of our posts incognito so that she can gain more information about the Cosmere.- 11 replies

That first one definitely looks like a type. The other 3 I think are how the characters speak, and are done intentionally.
-
I was thinking that too, or some similar catastrophe that would cause a type of astral phenomenon. I'm thinking it's not an actual constellation, but something else. Maybe a rip in the physical realm that is causing something to leak through?

[Bands/Secret History Spoilers] Cosmeric Confirmations
RShara replied to Trickonometry's topic in Mistborn
Some different effect that comes from the mix of the two abilities. Wax says something about it in SoS too. -
Hoid says he's ineffective at hurting people in Words of Radiance.
-
Or he could be carrying something like the medallions, I suppose.
-
Wouldn't it then be "of the outer city political elite"? Having the plural there makes it sound like it really needs an apostrophe.
-
Ebook page 59, or the second page of chapter 4, Wax says Seems like it should be cities' political elite, with an ending apostrophe?
-
It could be, but there's no mention of it being a new-ish thing, so it seems like it has been known for a while. What I find interesting is that if it is the same phenomenon, that people on two different worlds with two different cultures both refer to it in a wounding sort of way. As a "scar" and a "rip." If they are stars in close proximity to each other enough to be similarly grouped from the perspective of both planets, their alignment still wouldn't be exactly the same (unless they were *really* far away), and yet they are still called similar things.
