  1. I don't think so. His spiritweb would still know where he was from. So just because his mind thought he was from Arelon, his spirit would still know where he's from.
  2. Sorry, Yata, you are actually wrong on this one.
  3. Intent is actually a non canon term for the Shard’s power. Intent with a capital I is something else. That being said, I don’t think Adonalsium had a specific intent. Due to the way the Shards all seem to have a facet of a personality, I think it was a whole being with all intents encompassed
  4. Some answers for you. OB and SH spoilers.
  5. If Spook has atium, he would win. Even though he wouldn't be able to see NB/sheathe's atium shadow, he'd be able to see Vasher's movements. Assuming he isn't tempted to pick up NB, he'd win.
  6. All of the Vessels were originally from Yolen. There may sometimes be some name overlaps (Like Shash and Shashara), but generally these are coincidences or due to everyone having started from the Yolish language. The Fjordell religion is based on Dominion. No, the bones are just supernaturally strong due to the investiture used to create them (imo). No idea. Maybe Ake? Ruin's prison is different than what happened to Dominion and Devotion. Ruin's mind was trapped by Preservation's power. Dominion and Devotion were Splintered and killed and their power crammed into the Cognitive Realm to prevent them from gaining sapience. Brandon has Annotations for Elantris on his website that shed a lot of light on what's going on there.
  7. The plasma storm is because their intents are fairly opposing, if I recall correctly.
  8. Being stuffed completely into the CR, with no access to the Spiritual, I think, is what prevents them from gaining sapience.
  9. Yep. Raoden did the Fire Aon and almost burned down the library, remember? Plus the illusions and minor healing he did. I believe Mistborn: The Final Empire has annotations, too. They should all be on his website.
  10. Well there are people who agree and disagree. The debate is complicated enough that summarizing it is difficult. Best to just find the threads and join in the trouncing.
  11. Basically what Yata said. The original Elantrians probably developed their language and slowly figured out a way to use it to take advantage of the Dor. Then they realized that they could boost their power level significantly by building Elantris as a giant Aon-power-conduit. They probably also put in modifiers to have Shaod Elantrians created, to be better vessels for the Dor, or just to give themselves immortality. Chapter 55 of the Elantris Annotations talks about the Aonic Language and the Dor. https://brandonsanderson.com/annotation-elantris-chapter-55/ in particular,
  12. Yeah, sorry, I was referring to the Feruchemical aspects (Fortune/Luck, etc). I just woke up. That's my excuse!
  13. Yep, that's a common speculation/theory. If you search for Unity, you should be able to dig up a few threads on the matter. They have some really good thoughts and debate in them that are definitely worth reading!
  14. Maybe not emotionally broken, but I think that losing his arm might have been traumatic enough to crack (even if it's not necessary).
  15. We're actually not sure if his powers come from Feruchemy,or an equivalent. Brandon's been cagey about which one it is
  16. Welcome to the Shard! That's a very interesting first theory! Unfortunately (as usual) I would have to disagree. Dominion and Devotion are actually crammed into the Cognitive Realm on Sel. Since the Cognitive Realm, unlike the Spiritual, does have a distinct geography (which is why magic is location dependent on Sel) they wouldn't be able to reach Dalinar on Roshar. Additionally, as Investor said, since they are crammed in the Cognitive Realm, they're not able to form sentience. They're currently a giant plasma storm in the Selish Cognitive Realm region. Still, props for a theory that made people think about the Shards in a different way
  17. Sorry, what? Taravangian stole Jezrien's Honorblade from Bridge 4 and gave it to Odium who gave it to Moash/Vyre after he killed Jezrien. Jezrien was killed with a dagger, not a sword.
  18. What kind of reading order are you looking for? Chronological? Publication? Or just "I like to read the books in this order"? I like chronological, personally.
  19. Here's a third one I'd really like to get clarified. During the SLCC Comic Con in 2017, we have this exchange: I'd really like to know if Brandon meant Vo was not the first Returned or if Vo was the first Returned.

    Echo Image?

I wasn't explaining it in any particular chronology Sorry, yeah, it was backward.

    Echo Image?

They generally aren't, but when you're trying to ask a question, sometimes you fumble the terminology I mean, I'm not the questioner, so I could be wrong. But I think that's what he's referring to. Whether some imprint or part of Adonalsium is part of Hoid.
  22. Let's be nice. Fatikis is new and might not realize that we over-theorize EVERYTHING @Fatikis, here is a good thread to get you started. There are various other theories floating around that you can find with the Search on the top right corner. Welcome to the 17th Shard!
