Last book I picked up was The Iron King by Maurice Druon. I'm not really a fan of historical novels, since I nevermore how right they are...but having GRRM's recommendation makes a compelling argument.

I'm running an RPG adventure on another forum. I started it a little differently than the book laid out, so I could introduce the characters and the setting and get the players invested. They are currently planning a jailbreak and I don't know how things got so far off the rail.

I think they fall under the "I'm still kinda throwing a background together, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"In reality? Well, I had thought that they were deceased, simply since she -is- a minor and it makes things easier than having to create a whole extended family for her, and it would make her obsessiveness... Easier to hide (since she has no supervision) and...probably a bit more tragic. Since she's obsessing, and fangirling, over the people who are likely responsible for her not having a family to begin with...

Does it count as a kidnapping if her response is, "I'll get my bags!"(Random side note, I'm actually thinking of making Lyla biracial. It just occurred to me that all I've given as a description for her is 'dark hair', and 'scrawny', neither of which says what race she is. Her race isn't something I've thought about at all, so the thought occurred to me that "If it doesn't matter, why default her to white?")

Huzzah! I got name dropped!...my most famous harasser is just a wholesale reference, but still. Kobold King Validation! EDIT On the one hand, auto correct turned 'character' to 'harrasser'. On the other, that sums up Lyla's interactions with Epics so well I don't want to fix it.

Your local library should have some books, so that's undoubtedly helpful. Youcan buy comics online via websites like Comixology, which I believe have their own apps... As far as where to start? Well. You're in luck, since Batman has a lot of particularly well received and known storyline, trades and runs. Is there anything in particular you want to read about? Certain villains? Would you rather pick up the "old classics", or something newer?

And well, double posting, but I killed this topic, I might as well try and bring it back to life... Has anyone seen Revolutionary Girl Utena? I've started watching it lately, English dub. And... Well, I thought it was a pretty rough start, albeit it with some potential- and, to be afair, it got better as I was going along. I have now started the Black Rose arc and sweet Harmony. Not only has the show gotten a lot better, it's gotten so much darker and creepier. I mean, there were already flashes of real creepy implications in earlier episodes, but it's all just escalated ridiculously in a handful of episodes.

Actually... if you guys are codifying the rules for posting here a little more, maybe having an "offical" template for posting characters would be a good idea? Just occured to me since I juuust realized I still haven't posted Lyla's. Though, throwing characters together might be the preferred method, so...
