  1. I haven't gotten around to forming any Rwby theories yet, so it's not like I can fault you for not knowing. Thanks for...not clearing it up, exactly, but making me feel less concerned for being confused about the whole thing? I need to Rewatch the series as soon as possible. Start theoryforming. This might be my favourite fan prediction for volume 4 though:
  2. Sorry Brandon, but this might be the greatest book series ever. Clearly, SVH has won, and this site needs to start getting some rebranding.
  3. I suggest a Net Ball. As bug types, that should get you a higher percentage chance of getting them before they flee. ...we're talking about pokemon, right? (More seriously, good luck getting them.)
  4. To be fair, Ruby has the 'silver eyes' plot, so it's not like she's totally "normal". I admit, with the seasons thing, it almost seems too obvious that Summer might also have Maiden powers...but. Did we ever get confirmation that her body was recovered? I can't help but think we'll get a reunion between Qrow, Sumer, Raven and Tai... ...also, question for everyone: Where does the volume 2 stinger fit in? Unless I'm misremembering, that showed Yang meeting Raven...but nothing in volume 3 suggested it had happened. I thought it might beafuture event, with her acting on Qrow's info...but volume 2 Yang had both arms, so short of regeneration, I don't see how the stinger can happen, exactly. Am I missing something very obvious?
  5. Bendis is like any writer; he has his strengths and weaknesses. He plays really well in the street level side of things for instance. His dialogue has a Whedon-esque quality to it. And he does a good job of building up certain characters (Jessica Jones and Like Cage). Unfortunately, all his work lately has been on long-running, established characters, and it's made his weaknesses too glaring to ignore. Bendis might follow hid own continuity most of the time, but he'll throw it out if he needs to...and he has even less regard or anything other writers have done with characters. Continuity is not story telling shackles. Continuity builds stories, and let's the readership know that what they are reading ultimately matters. Tossing away established facts and characterisations with barely a handwave doesn't help that, especially when you are working on a franchise which is meticulous about plot details. (Hi, X-Men!) The sheer decompression of his books is kind of absurd, too. Six-part arcs are the industry standard these days, but Bendis' stories don't seem to have enough content for that much. I had that opinion of him the few times I read Ultimate Spider-man, but again, I think X-Men is the biggest example of that; he wrote a storyline which started in one event, and outlasted a second. The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier did not need to be that long. The fact that it ended with being rebooted out of continuity highlights that. Bendis had two monthly X-books, and couldn't wrap up any of his storyline which is...not good. Also, characters. Some of the characters he writes benefits from it; look at Lake Cage! Otherwise, well... As a Hawkeye fan, the fact that Bendis persistently gets Clint's personality so wrong, and has done so for a long, long time, bothers me. Hawkeye is not a minor character, so I don't think it's Bendis not doing research.it feels more like him deciding to change Barton to fit how ge thinks the character should be. I've also heard he's super defensive of stuff, like Dazzler's new costume, or dismissing all complaints related to Riri and Miles as racist...but that's hearsay, which I can't back up o e way or another. ...but... I realise this is all personal complaints. Bendis is also the guy who launched the Avengers to stardom with New Avengers, and he's been working in an industry, with characters, that I'd kill to get a chance to do. So clearly he's doing something right, and his writing dies resonate with some people...I'm just not one of them.
  6. EARTH IS COSMERE, CONFIRMED
  7. I. What. But. TWO DELIGHTFULS WHAT
  8. FAIRYTALES YES ...Sorry. I'm a big fairy tale fan.
  9. No. No I do not. For many reasons. Which might derail the thread. ... MCU illuminati would be interesting though. I don't think they can get Reed at this point, and even if they did, I think they'd be hesitant to use him... But they could make some alterations, I think. Use Hank Pym instead of Reed, and that gets the same point across with brilliant scientist of the unknown in the private sector. Xavier, you could replace with Carol Danvers. The deal with the Illuminati was that they were supposed to representable the different sectors of the superhero community. Without mutants, you could use Carol to represent the Cosmic side of things, while continuing to push her as one of Marvel's premiere characters.
  10. Probably keep it here? Though I am desperate for attention, so... If you're curious, my baseline thoughts for the series are... Volume 1 was... alright. I'm actually looking forward to picking it apart, since I feel like there was stuff it did really well (Juane and Pyrrha), and stuff like it didn't do quite so well (Protagonist Syndrome). It feel's like the series is sort of carried by the fights and soundtrack for most of volume 1, with only Weiss and Blake doing any heavy lifting on the protagonist side. Basically, I think volume 1 is a flawed work. So, I'm gonna be interested in picking it apart. Volume 2 was an improvement, in a lot of ways, and Volume 3 I CAN'T TALK ABOUT VOLUME 3 YET OKAY?
  11. NO. WE ARE NOT GOING THERE. I am not... I'm not emotionally ready, yet. ...Which should make rewatchign and analysing the series and all those moments super fun. (Gonna try and get an analysis of the Red Trailer up soon)
  12. This is beautiful.
  13. You are all terrible people. You didn't warn me of the FEELS I would have at the end of volume 3.

    mindifimaybestealthispictureforanrpgcharacterimagecoolthanksbye Seriously. So awesome.
  15. I can't decide whether to quip that all Michael Bay films are comedies, or that the comedy comes from how bad they are.
  16. I'm watching season 3! ...wow this season is longer than the others. And my time management and work rather precludes giving reactions. ...so... Pitching this to you guys. I want to finish the series and get up to date first. But once I do... Quiver Rewatching And Analysing Rwby. (Team QWAR?) Would that interest anyone?
  17. Finished volume 2. Started volume 3, but I'm too busy to do full responses at the moment. I stead...quick question.how old are the cast? My guess is that Beacon is meant to be like a high school, but I never know what ages at high schools are compared to UK schools. Ruby's personality makes me place her in the 11 - 13 bracket. Blake mentioned she was 2 years younger than the rest of the team, so that makes them 13 - 15, itching. Is that accurate?
  18. Does anyone have any advice on getting go sleep? Been a little insomniac lately and, well...not a quality one wants when they are doing a 12 hour night shift.
  19. So, still processing thoughts, but after volume 1? Rwby is so obviously built on RPG mechanics that I am stunned there isn't one yet. Parties. Stamina combat system (aura). Cool mechanics you could play with for customisation, as evidenced by their fighting styles? Complex socio-economic situations that could be leveraged for plot hooks? Weiss gets mad, and says Ruby attacked out of turn...and turn based combat? An RPG mainstay. I refuse to believe a Rwby RPG doesn't exist in some form. It's merchandising GOLD.
  20. I have to object, on the grounds that I misread that at first, and assumed it was an epic NAMED Lizzy who made hallucinations. You know. Lizzy. As in LSD. Or am I the only one pronouncing those similiarly? (More seriously, it would be an interesting way to get that info...and raises intriguing questions about the character. Why is his hallucination female? How cogent is he of the lines between reality and fantasy? It could be fascinating reading.)
  21. Eh, not quite as bad as skinning. Just thought about skin literally crawling, or a piece of sentient skin peeling itself off and slithering away...
  22. ...is there something in the air? Not skinning, exactly, but I had a rather grotesque thought for a skin-based magic thing today.
  23. I remember starting an account on Steelministry a long time ago. Which was a terrible idea. ...Not because you guys are bad or anything! Quite the opposite! But I didn't eel comfortable posting there without owning the book and knowing the rules. ...Well, I've got the book. And I'm working on learning the rules. So...
  24. Can't say I've spoken to you, so I can't comment on your qualities as a person. Sorry. But you have maintained a pretty consistent and active presence on this forum of late, and that's cool! Also, you started a trend with the facepalming thing, and as a guy who tried to do the same with candy-coated horses, I respect your success.
