George RR Martin offered to teach Brandon how to torment his fans by releasing volumes only twice a decade, but Brandon politely turned him down.

I can see how you would conclude that Hoid was referring to Roshar. Shadesmar and Roshar meet, but Shadesmar is actually the cognitive realm that, and I could be wrong, links all of the shard worlds together. I guess in one sense you could consider it a world, but being that it lacks a physical component, then it is not a world in the same manner that Roshar is a world (as in planet).

Narrows it down! So Dalinar is definitely not 50... “Adolin was a young man in his twenties and Dalinar an aging man in his fifties” Excerpt From: Sanderson, Brandon. “The Way of Kings.” Tom Doherty Associates, 2010. iBooks. This material may be protected by copyright. So we now know for certain he is between 51 and 59...which means Navani is between 51 and 60... Additional age related information is that he courted Navani in their youth and that, after Galivar started courting her, he avoided her for two decades, then met his wife, Shhshhshhh. Adolin is 24, so assuming he was born the same year as the wedding and not prior to, then Dalinar is X+44 years. (X being the age at time of courting and 44 being Adolin's age plus the two decades he spent ducking Navani.) So if this is accurate, then he must have started courting Navani when he was 15 or younger in order to be within his fifth decade. This would make him 59.

Your flesh has been re-stored. It is once again on the third shelf from the bottom in the Nightwatcher's closet. She occasionally takes it out when she wants to play dress up. I ask that the Nightwatcher send me to Urithiru or show me how to get there.

Slaves have no rank

Being that there were ten Orders of KR and there are 10 devotaries in Vorinism, I think that the fallen heralds actually infiltrated the religious sects and are the illuminati of the Vorin kingdoms...insert X-Files-like conspiracy music here.

I think Dusk is correct. Elkohar would want to make sure his wife and child are safe...and along those lines, now that he has an heir, the queen has no reason to keep Elhokar alive, so maybe her family or a group she is affiliated with is responsible for Elkohar's armor being weakened. Total tangent.

I think El's big secret has yet to be revealed. At the moment we know: 1. He is married and has a kid. 2. He converses with heralds 3. Someone is trying to kill him. 4. He fakes an assassination attempt with the strap--nearly killing himself in the process, so that people will realize that someone is trying to kill him, then sends his uncle out to find out who tried to kill him...Surprise, it's suicide! This could have attracted the Cryptics, but I think they were already watching him. It would be funny if the Cryptics he sees are paranoiaspren. The lie being that everyone is out get him, the truth being that someone really is out to get him.

“moment. The day is ours.” “We win again!” Sadeas said triumphantly. “Dalinar, once in a while, it appears that senile old brain of yours can come up with a good idea or two!” “We’re the same age, Sadeas.” Excerpt From: Sanderson, Brandon. “The Way of Kings.” Tom Doherty Associates, 2010. iBooks. This material may be protected by copyright. Check out this book on the iBooks Store: https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewBook?id=376229549 Looks like Dalinar is between 49 and 51 since Sadeas is 50. "Same age" would represent a birth date within 499 days of the other. So Dalinar is 50 plus or minus up to 499 days. This means Navani is 50 plus or minus 499 days plus 3 rosharan months.

Words of Radiance Release Events
Chlehrma commented on Chaos's article in Events, Signings, & Giveaways
Oh, no! Your poor agent! Quick, give me his address and I will rescue him from the crushing weight of that tome! -
Perhaps the 5th vorin kingdom is the one that fell into dust--one of the quotes at the beginning of a chapter.

In chapter 26 when Dalinar is fighting the Parshendi, he loses the thrill and begins to feel revulsion at all of the death. A voice, possibly his own, speaks to him. “Once these weapons meant protecting, a voice inside of him whispered." Then a few Windspren dance by on the air and he hears: “Life before death." "What was that voice?” We know that Syl looked very much like a Windspren before her bond matured. My theory is that while Syl may have been the first Honorspren to disobey the Stormfather, she was not the last. There are other Honorspren wandering Roshar looking for bond mates.

Consequences of betraying the oath stone.
Chlehrma replied to EmanEmal's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think when Szeth breaks his oath to his stone, he will discover that, like the people from the land the wandersail discovered, he is responsible for his own actions. He is responsible for every death he wrought. And I believe he will be broken for a long time and try to bring balance. I think the desolation trigger is the parshendi summoning a storm using the red lightning spren, a storm that will open a portal allowing Odium to slip through into their world. It I'd also possible, I suppose, that he is actually imprisoned in galivars sphere. -

The Shin know more than we know them to know
Chlehrma replied to makromag's topic in Stormlight Archive
Walking on stone is sacrilege Stormlight is sacred and not to be used as lamps or decoration Farmers are of the highest caste Warriors are of the lowest caste Humility is a virtue Haggling is backwards in shinovar Their priests (stone shamans) possess an Honorblade (now given temporarily to Szeth) Their priests can retrieve the blade if Szeth dies (indicates some martial ability) They do not believe the voidbringers exist (per Szeth's punishment) They do not have spren (spirits) that we know of... They do not seem to get hit by highstorms--though if that is true, then how would they have stormlight and hold it to be sacred? They possess a barehanded martial art called kamar (possibly a priest thing and might explain how they can retrieve an Honorblade) That is all I can think of regarding the shin. What did I leave out? -

Dawnshards and their relationship to the Listeners
Chlehrma replied to Alice Rose's topic in Stormlight Archive
Linking the dawn chant to the dawnshards makes me wonder If the dawnshards will be recoverable now that Dalinar has provided the means to translate the dawn chant. Interesting theory linking them to cultivation. It also makes me wonder if Dawn was a Third shardic being. One of the "3 of 16." Perhaps odium was never one of the three. As for Jasnah, she is not wrong, but the parshendi do not want to be voidbringers even though they are their descendants. They specifically left to escape their dark gods. This means that the parshmen, the song less slave group, are also the descendants of voidbringers. There may be a third group of descendants that we have yet to meet who specifically seek to return the voidbringers to the world. Their knives probably come from the ruins of Natanatan that are buried under the crem deposits on the shattered plains. The dawnshards were known to bind any creature mortal or voidish. I think they were the "bars" on Odiums prison. Tanavast refers to them being gone and recommends Dalinar seek a champion to challenge Odium. I am guessing Sadeas will be Odiums champion At the end of the arc which means Kaladin or Dalinar will stand against him--though it would be awesome if Szeth were to do so or if Renarin were capable.- 24 replies

Mini Theory: Shallan didn't kill her father
Chlehrma replied to askthepaperclip's topic in Stormlight Archive
She killed her father, she just did not murder him. She killed him to defend her brother Balat. It explains Balats crippling since they keep going on about the father's temper. -
If it is any consolation, you are a day ahead of us so it is not as long as it sounds. I do not know the total number of hours difference. It might be worth purchasing the ebook, then the hardcover later.
