  1. I suspect that the nurse who tended to Lemex is the Terriswoman. I have no evidence other than that her speech differs dramatically from that of every other character in the book.
  2. Honorspren are attracted to honor, windspren to wind, firespren to fire, etc. A liespren would be attracted to someone who lies, obscures, or hides the truth. The irony is that they grant power to the secret keeper who tells a truth. The name does not really fit what they do and that is likely why they dislike it and prefer to be called Cryptics. Cryptics do not encourage lying. They encourage bringing secrets to light. They encourage illumination.
  3. Does this mean that when Shallan "blinks" and takes a memory, she is linking to Shadesmar in some way?
  4. So when I read WoK I thought the shard blades were summoned out of Shadesmar. Did Brandon ever comment on this?
  5. Awesome! Thanks! So does this mean Feruchemy might be e native magic of Yolen?
  6. The dead cities buried in crem are the cities of Natanatan. The Tower is probably the remains of the kingdom's palace. The etched blades that some of the Parshendi use were probably recovered from the ruins. The song of Derethil and the wandersail is probably a parable about Urithru with the dead emperor being Honor and the islands residents being radiants. The Origin, which is probably Honor's home, is far to the east and the land the wandersail found is far to the west and may even be the land closest to the Origin, the land closest to honor. My guess as to the great magic that was unleashed resulting in the shattering of the kingdom is that this release was when Honor and Odium clashed and Honor died.
  7. Where is the information about Hoid being a Feruchemist? I have seen a lot of people talking about it, but don't know where to look.
  8. Maybe a soulcaster made of atium? Kind of a conduit for charged spheres.
  9. He does, but from what I understand, there is a death clause regarding the reading of said document. He could show it to you, but then...
  10. LoL! +1
  11. I thought the not quite sun might have been the Shadesmar reflection of the Source, the place from which the high storms originate.
  12. This was my thought as well. She might even be a "heretic" just to distract observers from other truths. It could also be that she is just dramatically inept regarding sexuality and so focuses her entire life upon the mind.
  13. Lifts ability to turn food into stormlight is a gift from the night mother. At least that is how I read it, so she can not be adequately used for determining how they absorb stormlight.
  14. Didn't Jasnah acknowledge that the man in the shard plate was her father?
  15. Maybe the stick figure he encountered was the bind agent and it would bind another shadowblaze to the potential rithmatist. I seem to recall something in the book saying that new rithmatists could only be made if an existing one died--meaning that if they died, then the formerly bonded shadowblaze could be bound to a new candidate. Perhaps there was no spare shadowblaze available for the main character to bind with or perhaps there is a specific shadowblaze to which he is supposed to bind.
  16. How do we know that there were no bunnies and hotties running around on the moon? Those astronauts might have just faked the tapes so they did not have to share the hotness. Why else would they keep pushing for more trips to the same "desolate" rock? +1 cool info on Chinese mythology
  17. Shandolin
  18. Airsick low lander. +1
  19. What exactly is the quote or in what chapter is it located?
  20. Keep in mind that not every culture on Roshar sees reading as a strictly feminine pursuit. The scenes in the bookstore indicate that the owner pretended not to be able to read in order to put his customers at ease. Additionally, priests (ardents) read.
  21. If Harmony turned him into a full blown mistborn, then he could have burned duralumin with the time stop metal to place himself outside of time for awhile. Or Harmony could have preserved him for this use. Or there was an unforeseen consequence for Atium-dragging like was done in the final battle in HoA. World hopping is not mentioned in Mistborn that I can recall, so Brandon can introduce it however he wants or not at all. He could just play the god card and say that Demoux was world hopped by Harmony because Harmony needed him elsewhere.
  22. I think Renarin will fall for her while she falls for Andolin creating another Galivar-Navani-Dalinar style relationship. Other examples are Elend-Vin-Spook from Mistborn1 or Steris-Wax-what's her name from AoL.
  23. I think that the dark godS comment indicates that they were either running from: 1. a group of which Odium was a member OR 2. The 10 anti-heralds. (Unmade?) (Is the midnight mother one of them or something else?) I think it unlikely that the KR were their gods.
  24. It could also refer to Elkohar with whom they are talking in the prelude to WoK or to Eshonai's blade that looks like it has flames rising off of it from the way it is shaped. Both blades are works of art. It is also possible that since WoB claims we have seen 3 blade type, that Szeth's blade is actually a Dawnshard--assuming that they are actually a blade formed shard and not something else. Since Szeth lacks a spree bond the only other bonds he has are to his oath stone and to his blade, perhaps one of the two is the source of his ability to surge bind. If it actually is a dawn shard, then who knows what it does for the wielder. Alternatively, perhaps Honorblades grants surge binding abilities like a hemalugic spike would and it is the Honorblade of a Windrunner.
  25. Shard of Sarcasm--power to confuse and demean an enemy, leaving them frustrated and impotent. Shard of Apathy--the bearer has immense power but just doesn't see the point in using it. Shard of Agelessness--redundant since having a shard makes you immortal Shard of Time--only works when locked in a blue box. Shard of Cynicism--as if that shard even exists! Shard of Skepticism--you spend eternity doubting your own existence. Shard of Hope/Faith--power to inspire others while remaining unseen, hidden--actually Brandon might intend to have one like this.
