  1. I think you were like 2 or 3 people in front of me at that signing. So welcome Ya can't be Urithiru its to far east of the silver kingdom of Alethkar but Shadesmar has possibility could there maybe a location that lends its self to allowing people into Shadesmar?
  2. Poison needle in a chair would be good you could retract it and no one would see it and you could be anywhere.
  3. Sorry if this is a little confusing. To start, I want to make a distinction for this topic: Storm-light only equals spiritual energy gain from exposure to storms. Lift interlude spoiler What if the storms are not the original source of spiritual energy for The Radiants, or at least not the only source? Urithiru is apparently located closest to honor and west of Alethkar Origin is to the east of Roshar Storms are a build up of spiritual energy some place off the coast of Roshar that explodes out on a weekly basis. I feel storms consist of 2 waves. The first is the storm wall the physical wave of matter blown out of the origin. The second is a wave of spiritual energy trailing the first. This wave temporarily folds the physical realm into the spiritual during this time the gems exposed to the second wave fill with storm-light. During Kaladin's time in the storm he hits a spot in the storm where all his pain is gone and he sees a massive inhuman face in total darkness. After he sees the face, his one sphere burst to life. I think that dark face belongs to odium, and it's also what started the belief that Jezrien rides the storm. All spiritual energy is essentially the same and each shard can choose to power any magic system is my understanding. If I remember correctly, Ruin could have powered Allomancy if he wanted to. Roshar is different than the other shard worlds, Sel being the closest. Roshar has such large amounts of loose spiritual energy compared to the others, on Sel the loose energy appears to be confined to the cognitive and spiritual realm. Most other systems have some special access (breath, metal, pattern, whatever the hell Hoid does). Storm-light appears to be pure Spiritual energy I wonder if honor had a different way of providing spiritual energy to his followers and, maybe that source is why Urithiru could not be in Alethkar. Placing the oath gates near that power source would make sense.
  4. I think Gaz started going crazy. In the one chapter from Gaz's Point of view he thinks he saw something move in the shadow of his ruined eye. that is the only foreshadowing of something happening to Gaz I can think of. when they ask about Gaz they ask if he is well and are told no. I think he started the process of becoming one of the 10 fools. As for him hiding in a crew every person knew who Gaz was, there would have been talk.
  5. Fluid may not be the best word to describe the action admittedly. As for passing through walls I don't know. I do wonder if you could get stuck in the wall if you ran out of storm light.
  6. Jasnah's had sinking in remindes me of how a soul stamp sinks in. I think when a person affects the cognitive aspect of some thing that the physical aspects are more fluid for a short time. Soulcasting has a lot of parallels to forging. Forging gets harder them more you try and change like why she couldn't just change the whole wall to mud. That's why individual rocks are easier to use to make food instead of just turning a hill into ham.
  7. I have always felt that most of the quotes belong to Taln so I agree with this for the most part. “I’m dying, aren’t I? Healer, why do you take my blood? Who is that beside you, with his head of lines? I can see a distant sun, dark and cold, shining in a black sky.” That quote is not a true death rattle but, a dying man who like Shallon can see Shadesmar and the odd spren, written down due to the oddity of it.
  8. Parshendi could act similar to extremely powerful Fabrials almost like a computer that became a sentient being. We know that fabrials gain there power by having trapped spren in them.
  9. First i feel the need to defend Elantris yes AonDor is a little over powered but if you notice Brandon didn't use the magic system for like 90% of the book and is in fact the leading cause of problems for the main character most of the time. As for how powerful it is ya its much better at support functions then attacking. I think only Elantrians would be able to use Sel based magic due to the massive change to their body. the ability to create rifts to the spiritual realm could lend them to being able to use a lesser form of their power once they figured out how to make it work. That is assuming that the Elantrian in pure lake is in disguise and not just changed back to his original form due to his great distance from Sel. if you consider each magic system as directions for the were and how the spiritual energy is used creating new directions is possible just difficult. As for shard cities I like the idea but I think it may have more to due with a natural desire for symmetry inherent in each shard.
  10. In Jasnah's research there is a qoute that says they changed as we fought them. I don't think the voidbringer is a singular form but more likely a class of spren they see as gods. Tentatively titled Parshendi God Spren. It could be that corrupted spren create the same forms but follow odium's commands.
  11. It could also just give really long life and remember that every radiant we have see has almost white eyes. Something Dalinar notes as odd so I'm sure its important.
  12. I always thought of the Knights Radiant being lead by a group composed of the heads of the 10 orders not ruled by one individual. What if the tower, crown and, spear are not the fallen title but, references to who must pick up the fallen title such as Dalinar(Tower), Eholkar(Crown) and, Kaladin(Spear).
  13. Does anyone know if Brandon has made an official declaration of what the Ghostbloods symbol is coppermind has incorrect information at least in part. The book says its a symbol of three Diamonds in a pattern overlapping one another. I was hoping someone might know what pattern the diamonds are arrayed in.
  14. I like this Idea. I wonder if maybe the Dawnsingers were splinters of Adonalsium the original Spren on Roshar. It would make more sense why the Radiants were a surprise to Honor. The Dawnsinger guided the spren created by Cultivation and Honor and taught them how to bond. Then later Vornisum claimed they were sent by the almighty at the same time they removed the worship of the other shards.
  15. 1. Szeth could have just a smaller type for windrunners, but I think it is more likely that he has the 3rd type of shard blade not yet described to us. 2. I could see shallan doing that if she does turn out to be talented in the blood essence. If what they refer to is in fact an issue with his blood not some other problem that they call blood sickness due to lack of medical knowledge.
  16. I always got the feeling dragon steel would be set before or soon after the shattering of Adonalsium. the most important thing to remember just because odium is the main bad man in The Storm light archive does not mean he has anything to do with the other 9 shards we don't know much about. Many great stories in the Cosmere don't deal with larger issues of the universe. Welcome by the way
  17. I agree that what preservation did to trap ruin only make sense for preservation to do. Once life had been created I could see preservation doing anything to preserve it. Where honor would have been more driven to make odium fight fair. Odium could simply have been to strong for that kind of prison, we know Ruin and Preservation were equally matched. Honor having got odium to agree to rule of combat could explain a lot. That could also be the reason that it may be possible to make odium choose a champion. It seems like an odd rule to have just been part of the fabric of the universe.
  18. A point to remember we know at least one desolation lasted 10 years.
  19. Shallan's blade is a former Radiant's blade I'm sure. So i don't think that should count against your theory.
  20. I would not go that far we only know that his does not make it stay light. We have every reason to believe that normal sharde blades does change the eye color.
  21. All odium would need to do to defeat a person using an honor blade would be make a human attack then so I think that seems unlikely. We also don't know if Szeth's blade doesn't fall into one of the other 2 categorizes, chances are it does.
  22. Do to the harsh conditions in the south it seems unlikely that they would be more diverse. If I remember correctly they were not changed by TLR so to survive they would almost certainly have had to band together.and over 1000 years any diversity would have disappeared. i can't believe that more then a few thousand original humans would have survived the environment at the start of his rule.
  23. I want that to be the case.
  24. Jasnah has a drawing that is a Chasmfiend and its supposed to be a voidbringer
