I disagree so we know of 3 magic systems on scadrial only 2 of those naturally appeared actual mist born appear to have engineered by preservation to assist in stopping ruin. Hemelurgy existed but it few if any knew it existed and is only of ruin. Feruchemy appears to be a natural part of a small group of people and would make sense that it would naturally occur because both preservation and ruin created man kind here and it is part of both. Prier to the lord rulers use of the well we know of no natural mistborn or mistings Add to the fact that harmony claims that all Lerasium we have seen comes form before the lord ruler started handing it out. That points me to the fact maybe preservation created a new system to accomplish his goal. I would go more with a shard can't change the focus of the magics.

If the coast line closest to origin was not especially deep the sediment could be ripped up combined with the spiritual energy of the storm could create the crem. thus making the land rocky and preventing to much erosion. very impressive by the way.

It's hard to say. Is saving someone you know is going to cause destruction an honorable act. Hate how ever is self serving he does not always need to destroy, as say Ruin who's only goal was destruction. Even then he was able to work with preservation to create so he could in turn destroy more. So joining in a pact to protect himself he could focus his hate at that enemy not his allies.

Your right i"m mixing up facts and clouding the theory. the silver kingdom and the Radiants are not necessarily connected one would most likely have existed before the other. The knowledge could have become lost simply because the heralds and radiants were the only ones that knew how and they didn't pass that knowledge along. It could also have been simply that it was so complex that only a small group could do it and maybe the lived in Urithiru when it was lost. you are right it is hard to tell but, the way of kings is almost the only information left from before the last desolation. It is possible that the silver kingdoms existed during the desolations, but all knowledge we have of them is post desolations. Urithiru was the center after the desolation. It could be that all heralds were the leaders of 10 kingdoms and those kingdoms later formed the silver kingdoms. I dont know if WoB has stated any history on the other heralds. The heralds are honors method of information distribution. That is kind of what their name means. It is possible that before they became radiants they were simply a group of people with shard blades to fight with and then later formed in to a better fighting force by Nohadon. I don't know that they were operating independently they were both fighting on the same side while being lead by the heralds Just becuase we dont see them interacting with the heralds does not mean they were independent. we only see about a 5 -10 minute section of time after they have won and its not even right after its just soon after. until more evidence is brought forth i think that "took control of the orders" will stand, but i will amend the silver kingdoms you have made a valid point there.

True they could ship them back to have them recast. but that would mean exposing the large number of gems to theft. easier for the king to have them cut and recast via soulcasting then constantly risk shipping them back and forth to be cast. As for soul casting I would say that the small amount of glass my not break any gems, nor is any gem a waste gem most of the gem's value is retained when it fractures it just become less useful for shard plate and soul casting, for common things it only looses a little value. One other thing is sand would not be easy to come by, even beaches would be wiped clean by the storms, finding the quantity need for all the spheres would be trouble some. Also the introduction to the book on the web site explicitly states that there is no sand on the ground. As for highly regulated I don't think so its not like printing paper money or even making gold coins. If it holds storm light then it has value according to its size. A counter fit would be apparent simply by trying to infuse the spheres. Also having the king's soulcasters make the spheres would provide any over site needed. When Dalinar talks about it he refers to his own gem cutters who would know the standards as well.

Great shells could have grown due to shardic influence I would even go so far as to say all creatures with gem hearts came about due to shardic influence. its is however hard to say if honor and cultivation created all life or just altered existing life. If the shards only needed to create sentient life then it my be that Adonalsium created the great shells and other gem heart creature. Our info dating before Adonalsium's shattering is very limited. Also with a god figure creating things all over the place I cant see to much evolution happening as things would most likely just be created to survive and adapt but given a skill set to work with.

The only way that would be usefull is if you could compound atium otherwise they would burn up their life very quick. However would make for a quick disguise become really old real quick and hide as an old bum on the street.
