  1. Well, you can tell I'm back to being a villager based on all the suspicion I've gathered. Somehow I'm more trusted as an eliminator than I am as a villager. I'm going to vote on Karnage to save my own skin, but I've got a village read on them, so this is awkward. Plus, if they flip village this is just going to draw more suspicion on me. Its unfortunate, but a 80% chance of a villager death is still better than a 100% chance. Straw, I'm still getting the same vibes I got when you were a serial killer. However, it appears that the majority of players do not suspect you. Actually, I'm going to make a tally on this: Suspect Straw (5): Wilson, Orlok, Young Pyromancer, Furamirionind, Sart Don't Suspect Straw (11): Xinoehp, Matrim's Dice, Elkanah, Kynedath, Arraenae, StrikerEZ, BrightnessRadiant, DeTess, Coda, Shard of Reading, The Archivist And for kicks, here's a tally on where the village stands on me: Suspect Sart (5): Xinoehp, Matrim's Dice, Arraenae, Karnage, Archivist Don't Suspect Sart (2): Araris, Zillah Okay, so the only people brave enough to support me are Araris, who is well known for his support of stab votes, and Zillah, who is honestly kind of surprising, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Given the amount of support for Straw, I suspect some Elims are among that large group. Whether that's elims gathering up to protect a teammate, or just elims defending a villager to blend in, remains unseen. Honestly, I think it's the latter, but I still think Straw is Bleeder for some reason. However, we don't need to concentrate on Bleeder, so I needed to move my vote anyways.
  2. Vote Count: Araris (1): Straw Straw (2): Wilson, Orlok Archivist (1): Matrim's Dice Karnage (2): Furamirionind, Araris The God King (1): Karnage I am a firm believer in a Day One lynch. Therefore, I will force the issue by voting on Straw. I haven't noticed Karnage behaving differently than normal, and I think every game I've played with him he's been a villager. Plus, Straw is poking a lot of people on their reads, but not actually making any reads himself. For these reasons, my vote is going on him.
  3. Dibs! Honestly, I was waiting for the Long Game signups, but this is too good of an opportunity to pass up.
  4. I can't believe that worked. Honestly, I felt super guilty about the bus. I misunderstood the rules, and thought there was a 50/50 chance that Rae would still be lynched in case of a tie, and I knew I would be busted if that happened. I didn't expect to become trusted by the entire village. Somehow, I'm more trusted as an elim than I am as a villager. Also, I didn't like the Silver Powder providing blanket immunity to the shade roleblock. I should have brought this up to the rules committee, but it would have been better if it was used up after preventing a roleblock. However, looking over the master spreadsheet, no shades managed to vote on elims, so that was a moot point.
  5. Okay, you're probably innocent. Drake, we need to lynch Kidpen.
  6. Seriously, where the heck is everyone? I get that it's Friday night, but this is ridiculous. And now I feel like a jerk voting for Drake, because he's the only other player around. My main reasoning is the lynch last cycle. It was very contentious, and to me, it reads like a village vs. Elim lynch. I suspect Drake and The God King are on the same team, and The God King stepped in to save him.
  7. Drake, I disagree with your process of elimination. Let me break down your assumptions. I don't disagree here. Six would be too many, and four would be too few, especially with the shade roleblock. I also agree with these assumptions. I could maybe see Silberfarben and Elbereth be on a team, but I'm willing to asume that they are not. Here's where my problem lies. You've cleared half of the village based on your trust list. If we assume there are four living eliminators, your trust list most likely includes an eliminator. From a purely statistical standpoint, there's only a 3% chance that you've excluded the traitors. Even if we accept that you're making this in good faith, and that you are telling the truth about being a villager, that only brings the chances up to 7%. And while I agree with some of your trust list, specifically myself and Megasif, I'm not willing to bet that the other four are all good. Furthermore, the way you've presented it makes it seem like Karnage and Aman are guaranteed to be eliminators. Compared to last cycle, we only have two votes, and both are on Karnage. I'm worried that this is killing discussion. Rereading last cycle, I saw no resistance to the Elkanah vote, and I'm noticing the same thing here. This type of solution just feels too easy. Yes, it would be great if those four combinations were the only possible Elim teams, but I highly doubt that. I've had a strange gut read on you that I haven't been able to explain, and this is just adding to it. You've also been tunneling on Karnage like crazy, and honestly I'm starting to come around on him. For those reasons, I'm voting on you
  8. Vote Count Megasif (2): The Archivist, Elbereth Karnage (1): Furamirionind Elkanah (2): CadCom, The God King Drake Marshall (0): Megasif (Would you mind coloring your previous vote green? It's throwing me off) Zillah (2): A Joe in the Bush, Megasif Silberfarben (1): Karnage I actually get on at a point where there's some votes. First off, why are there two votes on Megasif? They are the only player besides me that we know voted on an Eliminator. Plus, both votes have no reasoning behind them. Second, Fura is probably right that Zillah will die to the inactivity filter. I do support the contribution crusade, but we can go after more active targets. Third, we're in a three way tie. Therefore, I'm going to vote on Elkanah. I think they hedged too much when voting on Mist, and tying up the vote last cycle was either an honest mistake, or a ploy to protect a teammate.
  9. We only have one vote this cycle, so it's time to put in more effort. Time for some player list analysis: @Karnage: The lynch alternative to Mist on Day 3. They've mostly followed the crowd, first going after Striker, and then going after Mist. Slight elim read, but I can also see that being normal first-time player behavior. @Elkanah: While they did end up lynching Mist, they were very hesitant to join the train. Not a whole lot of analysis besides that. I feel like they are usual more vocal about their opinions than this. Slight elim read. @The_God_King: The lynch alternative to Striker on Day 2. They feel like a villager to me, but I think their read on Brightness is off. Village read. @Lord_Silberfarben: A fairly active new player. Unfortunately, most of their activity has been RP. I'm worried that they are hiding behind that, but nothing's felt too off. Neutral read. @BrightnessRadiant: One of the players who lynched Arraenae. Plus, they've been spurring activity across the board. However, I've noticed a couple people starting to get paranoid, notably Kidpen and The God King. I don't think they're right, but now I'm starting to get paranoid. For now though, village read. @Kidpen: He's been posting fairly short posts. He was the bluntest one attacking Mist but that's his normal playstyle. At least they're active, which is a point in their favor. I'm not sure how to feel about them. Neutral read. @A Joe in the Bush: I really wish he was more active. He barely has any posts. Neutral read. @Elbereth: The strongest voice against The God King. I think that read is off, and that's the only view point they've spouted. Usually they get more attention than this. Slight elim read. @The_Archivist: Their only post last cycle was one line. It seems like they are hardcore tunneling on Furamirionind. However, it seems like they're a new player, so that behavior makes some amount of sense. Neutral read. @Sart: Me. Hi, hello. I'm a villager. Moving on. @Zillah: Only three posts this game, which is not a whole lot to read off of. They said they would post more this cycle, so I'm planning on holding them to it. For now, neutral read. @CadCom: Way more active in the Long Game. All they've posted is one joke vote and one number analysis. I expect more from them, and it feels like they're skating by the thread. Elim read. @DrakeMarshall: Probably the strongest advocate for Mist. I still have a bad gut read on them, but reading over their posts last cycle made me trust them a bit more. Neutral read. @Amanuensis: Not a whole lot of posts, which is a shame because he usually puts too much effort into these games. For some reason, that lack of effort makes me trust him more. Slight village read. @Megasif: Another player who voted for Arraenae, so I definitely trust them. Plus they defended Mist, which was the right call. Strong village read. @Furamirionind: I don't like him voting on himself, but he was the alternate to Arraenae, which makes me trust him some. They ended up not placing a vote last cycle, which is disappointing. They could be village, but I keep going back and forth. Neutral read. After all that, my vote is going on CadCom. They've been way too quiet this game, and their two posts haven't contained any form of analysis. It's kind of a poke vote, but I'm getting a really bad feeling from them.
  10. I need to get some sleep. Yes, I meant to vote for Mist
  11. Vote Count: God King (1): Elbereth Brightness Radiant (1): God King Furamirionind (1): Brightness Radiant Rollover isn't doing me any favors this game. I completely missed the lynch train forming on Striker. Karnage was the first vote on the train, because Striker was sticking his tongue out. Then, Elandera voted, but Elandera died to the Traitor kill. The God King then voted in self-defense, which is not particularly AI. Brightness voted next to force the lynch, which makes me lean village. Finally, Mint voted. I'm still having trouble reading them, but that's probably because they are a new player. Of the people who voted on Striker, I think Mint is the most suspicious. They did vote to save Arraenae, which I initially discounted due to them being a new player. However, their post voting on Striker has rubbed me the wrong way. It seemed like too much of a shift somehow. I know I'm being vague, but that's the best I got right now. I'm also worried about the number of inactives. The GM already mentioned them, so I won't duplicate that, but please post. It would suck to lose so many players in one cycle.
  12. Vote Count: Mist (1): Furamirionind Furamirionind (1): The_Archivist Striker (1): Karnage Well, I'm glad we lynched an eliminator, but don't expect a last minute vote from me for the next cycles, since I have to work during rollover. In fact, this is probably going to be the only post I make this cycle, so I had better make it count. There's three people with votes on them currently. Mist is the most obviously suspicious. However, they are a new player, and they're suspicious voting has somehow wrapped around to being not suspicious to me. Likewise with Fura, voting on yourself should be suspicious, except they place their voted on Bard rather than someone who already had a vote. If they were an Eliminator, I couldn't see them doing that. Striker is at least a little bit suspicious, but something about his tone makes me read him villager. I think I'm going to put my vote on Drake Marshall. He made a really big post this cycle, but reading it felt like he was just parroting what other people had already said. It felt like a way to seem active, while not actually contributing anything. It's kind of a gut read, but I'm feeling somewhat confident now. As an aside, we should all strive to cast votes. While it is good that we're having this much activity, only half the players voted last cycle, so it's kind of hard to read the people in the shadows. I encourage you to take a shot in the dark, even if you aren't confident. Gut votes are better than no votes, because they spark discussion and naturally lead to more activity.
  13. Well, Joe posted so A Joe in the Bush. We're also having a traditional last minute bandwagon, this time on Furamirionind. It's interesting that after Arraenae got a second vote from Megasif, two votes went on Furamirionind. Something's wrong here, so I'm going to tie the votes by putting a vote on Arraenae. While it is true that if you save knives to the very end you run the risk of dying with the knife, it's way too dangerous to use it early. It's a careful balance, but that post felt like an elim trying to get easy village kills. And, ninja'd... Okay, that was the fastest I've seen a lynch train derail. I think everyone besides Arraenae has only one vote, so to cement the lynch I'm keeping my vote on Arraenae.
  14. No. Looking back it was Ripplegryff who ran it. If I recall correctly, the game dragged on because the dead doc had completely figured Joe out, and were blocking him every turn, while the living players (including me) were too dumb to realize it.
  15. I don't think I understand this. How would we distribute these unique identifiers? And what's stopping an eliminator from reusing one of them? Sorry, it's just not connecting for me. More importantly, we don't have any eliminators dead yet. We're already a third of the way into the cycle, and we only have one vote down. Unlike the Long Game, there's no benefit to waiting for a lynch, because we get alignment flips. I'm putting a poke vote on A Joe in the Bush. @A Joe in the Bush He was evil the last time this ruleset was run, and he hasn't posted yet. Other players who haven't posted yet are @Elandera, @Lord_Silberfarben, @BrightnessRadiant, @Kynedath, @Elbereth, @Zillah, @DrakeMarshall, and @Amanuensis
  16. I'll sign up as Sam Trudite. Also, super excited to see all these new players! I think our sub-forum is having a bit of a renaissance. Although that might be because of people having more free time than they're used to. Oh well, I'm just happy to see new faces.
  17. Sagaer had somehow ended up with a beet in one hand. The last thing he wanted on his walk was an agressive sales pitch, but Traelyn's love of beets knew no bounds. He quickly departed from the saleswoman, leaving Lasko to deal with the chatterbox. Sagaer, lost in his thoughts, walked in silence for a minute, before Knighter caught up to him. He sighed, and looked up at the starry night sky. "This won't last you know." The words drifted out of Sagaer's mouth. "It's so peaceful right now. All of us working together, focusing on our studies, not a care in the world. It won't last. What was his name, Onur, I think, already went crazy. It won't stop with just him. Pretty soon, we'll be at each other's throats looking for Skindancers that might not even be there." Inwardly, he knew that the Skindancers probably were real, but he didn't say that part out loud. "I'm just filled with a sense of dread for the future. What's going to happen to us? Will my daughter ever get to see her birthday? I don't know. I can't control what's going to happen to us. Well, there is something I can do. I'm filling a complaint against Bryn Aria (Burnt Spaghetti) @Burnt Spaghetti They seem nice enough, but they haven't contributed anything meaningful in the hunt against the Skindancers. Then again, I suppose most people haven't. Hmm... maybe I just feel guilty about not figuring out anything myself, and I'm passing on to someone else. Whatever the case, I'm hoping we can start getting leads, especially as our studies start to take off."
  18. Sagaer Murtoy sighed. it appeared the crucial element for success in studying was focus. Unfortunately, taking care of a baby was one of the most distracting things known to man. His daughter was mercifully asleep, so now he could focus on his studies. Unfortunately, focus was hard to find these days. Everyone at the university was too noisy, chatting about this and that without focusing on the real problem at hand. The Skindancers were here. No matter what the administration might say, Onur was clearly their first victim, and there would be more if they weren't careful. However, most people were making trivial arguments in order to receive tuition deductions. He could sympathize, since his funds were also getting scarce. Still, they needed more focus. He had noted that @Walin Lin Was (Walin) had promised to give his thoughts on the matter, but Sagaer had heard almost nothing from him. So, while it was still a stab in the dark, he hoped his complaint would spur further action. Still not gathering enough focus for his studies, Sagaer decided to stretch his legs. An evening walk might help him collect his thoughts. With the Skindancers running around, he was nervous about going out alone though. He wondered if anyone would care to join him, and started asking around. --------------------------- Open call for joint RP if anyone wants to go on a walk with me.
  19. Sagaer Murtoy rocked his baby to sleep. The pleasant piano music outside was calming his sweet daughter down. He let out an easy sigh, content to relax for just a moment. He felt himself drifting into dream, and shook himself awake. This was no time to dawdle. He had to decide the trajectory of his life. There were twenty-seven students of note at the University, but only 9 fields to master. While it was possible to study in multiple disciplines, all fields greatly benefited from mastering that field. In addition, any Skindancers among them wanted to master the fields in order to destroy them. The trick was to find a field where there were less interested students than others, in order to have a greater shot at being a Master. But which field should he choose? Perhaps listing them would help. Linguistics: The study of language focused on conversations of all kinds. Its flexibility was its main draw, as its abilities seemed less than useful. Sagaer doubted many people would want this field, but he wasn't sure what he would do with it either. Arithmetics: For penny-pinchers everywhere, arithmetic was a tempting offer. Having more money meant more things to buy, which meant more power in the long run. Sagaer figured many people would go for this discipline. Rhetoric & Logic: Argument meant one thing in this University: Being sent to the Horns. Anyone investing heavily in this would be able to nearly control the entire voting process. This was especially dangerous if a Skindancer took over the field. Unfortunately, they had no leads on who the Skindancers were, so the field might not be attractive to most. Archives: The best way to figure out the Skindancers was to research. Unfortunately, that meant the Archives would be extremely popular as a field. It would be highly difficult to become a Master here. Still, the abilities were powerful enough that it might be worth sacrificing the higher post. Physicking: Learning about the body encouraged healthy habits. Physickers were granted all the abilities of the field upon starting the field, which was a large benefit. However, most of the abilities required trust in their fellow students to be most effective. Still, having a suite of abilities rather than just one was tempting. Sympathy: Here the subjects took a turn for the mystical, and with the mystical came a chance for insanity. With only two abilities, students in this field could be reasonably certain to learn what they wanted. Further, both abilities could be used to great affect, especially at higher levels. A very tempting offer, but still a dangerous one. Alchemy: This school of thought focused on offensive items. Once you suspected someone, Alchemy gave you all the tools you needed to make their life hell. A powerful field that once again carried the prospects of insanity. He suspected the self-proclaimed alchemist Athdara would go for this field. Artificery: Unlike Alchemy, this focused on defensive items. The longer you stayed in the field, the safer you would become. Mixing it with some Alchemy classes would prove to be a potent combo. He was curious to see who would invest in this. Naming: And finally, there was Naming. The most powerful of all the fields, as long as you didn't go mad learning it. To all who attempted this feat, Sagaer wished them luck. Having listed all the fields, Sagaer had not come to a single conclusion. All of them could be powerful if invested in. In the end, it all came down to personal preference. What did he want to learn? He didn't know yet, but he hoped he could come to one soon.
  20. Of course I'm playing this game. Sagaer Murtoy at your service. Oddly, he has a child with him.
  21. Aw man, and I wanted to do a big reveal too... Unfortunately, you got one tiny thing wrong. I'm wearing Inhibitor's Glass right now. Good game Straw.
  22. That's why I said it's a 50/50. It all comes down to mind games There's 4 outcomes: You don't transport yourself, and Straw kills you. You transport yourself with Straw, and Straw still tries to kill you. Straw dies instead. You transport yourself, and Straw, being clever, targets himself. You still die. You fake transporting yourself, and Straw targets himself. Straw kills himself.
  23. We need a lynch. Shqueeves instead of Straw. Here's my worry. What if Zillah stays inactive? Straw kills me, which I can't stop. No lynch occurs tomorrow, and Straw gets a 50/50 shot at killing you. Hope you can beat those odds.
