  1. These Roshari made more ripples than a rock in the Purelake. Tleir was having trouble keeping track of it all. Arilar (Araris Valerian) had started off the stampede on Ellarel (Elandera), which wasn't surprising, giving the man's pedigree as a spy. Tleir thought that would make him an excellent Ghostblood candidate, but her own position was built on silt, so she couldn't raise a complaint. Tintalle (Elbereth) had also enthusiastically joined in on that bandwagon. That Brightness was being exceedingly erratic, and seemed to delight in her own madness. Tleir couldn't tell if she was dumber than a redback or as a tricky as a palay maldaya. She wanted to say the former, but she wasn't ruling out the latter. Then Ekard (Drake Marshall) tried to lead the lynch onto her (Sart), but then Nalakor (StrikerEZ) squared his attention on Ekard. And then Hymnyes (Butt Ad Venture) put another vote on Ellarel, for unclear reasons. Straw was at least trying to get Leiken (Amanuensis) involved, but that wasn't really adding to the discussion. Nalakor (StrikerEZ) was being fickle, and changed to vote on the fickle Tintalle, before backing down once again. Lastly, Ekard had apparently forgotten about her, and was now voting for Hymnyes. So, by her tally, that left the votes as followed. Vote Count: Elandera (3): Araris Valerian, Elbereth, Butt Ad Venture Amanuensis (1): Straw Butt Ad Venture (1): Drake Marshall ----------------- At this point, the people voting on Elandera seem too evil to be evil. It's too bold of a play for an Elim to back a lynch with literally no backing. I'm going to place a vote on Straw. He's only made one short post, but he both implicated the members of Elandera's train, and then placed a poke vote. It seems like he's trying to skate by without contributing anything.
  2. While I had a lot of fun, there was one thing I was really disappointed by. The Criminal's win condition was nearly impossible. First, I had to survive til Night 5. In a game with only fourteen people, that isn't very likely assuming normal kill patterns. Secondly, my action had a 20% chance of failure. 0.8^5=0.32768, which meant that even if I survived til Night 5, I only had a 33% chance of actually having my win condition then. Third, not everyone started out with items, and items were consumable goods. That made my win condition even harder. Fourth, I had a 10% chance of going insane every night, which reduced the chance of my stealing action succeeding to 70%. 0.7^5= 0.16807. That meant I only had a 1 in 6 chance of accomplishing my goal on Cycle 5, as long as RNG didn't interfere. Plus, I had to dodge any and all action scans. After doing the math, that's why I decided to self-sabotage. I knew there was a better chance of me winning if I was a confirmed villager, than as a thief with a ridiculous win condition.
  3. Well, this seems like a good time. Signing up. Also, I'm slightly worried about the bribing mechanic. Based on the amount of money getting thrown at each player, I'm worried that too many votes are going to get soothed off. For instance, a member of Dalinar's of Elhokar's faction can remove a vote every cycle starting on Day 3. That seems slightly ridiculous.
  4. I suspected something like this might happen. CadCom had revealed himself as the necromancer to me in our PM. He hadn't proved his role, and I really didn't want us to lynch the Governor, so I forced the vote onto him. I had a feeling that his claim was accurate, but I wanted a 40% chance of lynching an elim rather than a 0% chance. Still that brings our odds of lynching the Founder or Deep One to 50%. Let's see. So, the four suspects from most to least trusted: Xinoehp: Scanned Aman converting Hats. This should be easy to confirm. @ILuvHats Did Aman convert you? Even if the Reverend doesn't confirm this, I doubt an Elim would drag a teammate into this. He's probably my strongest village read at the moment. ILuvHats: If he's a Villager, based on my understanding, he should have gained Aman's day tracking action. If he used his action yesterday, and could give a valid tracking result, we could clear him. Rathmaskal: He was the one who first suggested this tactic. He would be painting himself into a corner if he was an Elim. No solid evidence to clear him though. Ark1002: My biggest suspicion currently. There's just nothing clearing him, and that makes him guilty via process of elimination. The other problem is the conversion. I also suspected something like this might happen. I'm surprised that Fifth was the one to do the conversion though. I would have thought that the Founder or the Deep One would have fled the net surrounding their roles. In any event, we still need to figure out who was converted. So, there's five suspects from most to least trusted: Devotary: As far as I understand it, whoever was converted should have lost their original role. So, we just need to see if their vote counts for double tomorrow. Ventyl: I'm just including Ventyl for the sake of completeness. I highly doubt the Elims would convert a total inactive. Sart: I have no way of backing up my innocence, but I know I'm still good. I'm just putting myself this low to be unbiased. Venture: We can't verify that they still have the Bodyguard role so long as Devotary isn't attacked. Araris: Unfortunately, no evidence. There's no evidence either way right now, and more speculation is just going to be a huge IKYK.
  5. Fifth, you're being paranoid/evil. Did you not think I wouldn't notice you putting CadCom conveniently in range of the Founder's abilities? Nice try at distancing though.
  6. Let's not waste time. If we eliminate anyone who went insane, Araris since he was attacked, and myself since plenty of people saw me stealing, we are down to five suspects. Two out of those five are most likely evil. @Devotary of Spontaneity You're obviously the Mayor. Who is your Bodyguard? If they are on the list, that gives us a fifty-fifty shot.
  7. Okay, I'm out in the sticks right now, so my internet is pretty bad. Still, I have submitted an action to steal from Cadmium Compounder. Hopefully the Bounty Hunter is inactive or not in the game, otherwise I am dead. If anyone wants to monitor me, they can turn me into a Villager. I'm busy tomorrow, so this will be my only post
  8. To clarify what happened, I am the Criminal. Based on my math, I determined that my win condition would be extremely difficult. So I decided to go the easier route, and win as a Villager. My plan was simple. I would sabotage myself. I PM'd Fifth, telling them that I was the Criminal, and that I was stealing from them. I forced them to scan me. The plan was for me to reveal this to the thread, and become a guaranteed Villager who the Bounty Hunter didn't want to kill. Unfortunately Aman contacted me, claiming to be a secret Village role. He correctly identified my day action as using a Transcript I started the game with. I was concerned when he invited me to join a doc, and realized he was some kind of neutral party. I panicked, and retracted my action. My gamble payed off, because Aman couldn't convert a Neutral party. Concerned that Aman would try to kill me after a failed conversion, I brought my concerns up with the thread. So that's everything. Aman, your claim is certainly interesting. The amount of neutrals this game is very concerning. I'm hoping that the Bounty Hunter role was not included. Otherwise, I'm dead tonight. Heck, I'm probably dead today. If you decide not to kill me. One of you just have to action scan me, and I'll be a confirmed Villager. Of course, at that point the cult would kill me, so that's disappointing. Final remark: I was a Neutral who started the game with an item. Therefore, the Journalist might have had one as well. I didn't get it, but one of the people who lynched Shane might have. So, StrikerEZ did you get an item?
  9. Bad news. I'll be without internet from Saturday to Monday. I'll try to still comment on mobile, but I make no promises. Mindful stared at the note she had been given. Mindful had never heard of such malarkey. They were already dealing with one cult. They didn't need to be dealing with a second one. Who wrote this? She turned the note over. Well, that explained that. Mindful wasn't sure what was going on, but she was pretty sure Innocent (Amanuensis) wasn't a villager. Although, considering the contents of the letter, he probably wasn't killing anyone. Still, it was enough to warrant a vote. --------------------------- For those wondering what the heck is going on, I got a weird message from the GM stating that Aman tried to convert me, but that the conversion failed. I don't know what that means, but it's something worth investigating.
  10. Mindful considered what had happened. Tim remained standing, while the stranger known as Shanerockes had been killed. Mindful had thought that the town was going to turn on Tim (I thought rollover was in 7 minutes), but her derision had apparently stirred up Tim's defenders. The journalist's body now laid before her, and she debated whether she made the right choice. A journalist could have dug up useful information on the cultists. On the other hand, the journalist was a stranger to the town, and wouldn't have cared about their plight while assembling his story. Would it have been better to follow the crowd, and kill Tim? Mindful wasn't sure, but this turn of events had at least spurred some activity. Already, the town was turning on each other. She decided to split the townsfolk into categories, in order to better analyze the situation. Tim's Accusers: Ruthful (Fifth Scholar): Ruthful accused Tim of ignoring the discussion in favor of gorging himself on desserts. It was a fair complaint, as Ruthful, despite her age, was the most active person among them. But was that activity normal, or was it caused by a Faustian bargain? Innocent (Amanuensis): Innocent was the one who really put the heat on Tim. Innocent's words had been concise but clear this whole time. Mindful felt herself being suckered in at almost every point. However, his trust in Mr. Freegift seemed too freely given. Was it an attempt to sway an innocent to his nefarious ways? Fade (Araris Valerian): Fade was determined to kill someone. That much was obvious. Even after Tim tried to defend himself, Fade turned on him. Ironically, that made Mindful trust him more. They needed people unafraid to take decisive action. Tim's Defenders: Mindful herself (Sart) was obviously lumped in here. Unless she had been totally corrupted, she knew she was working with the Village to purge the cultists. Likewise, Tim (Cadmium Compounder) was here as well. She couldn't blame him for self-preservation, but wished he would stop regurgitating what others had said. At least he had provided refreshments, which Mindful was currently enjoying. Mr. Freegift (StrikerEZ) was an interesting case. He had created the tie to see what happened. Mindful had also spotted him lurking about while Tim was in trouble. He was probably Mindful's biggest suspicion at the moment. Advocating for more killing seemed like something a cultist would do, not a villager. Finally, Patrick (Butt Ad Venture) was the one who broke the tie. According to him, he didn't want any violence, but since he was forced to choose, he chose to kill the stranger. It was understandable, but he would have to get over his qualms eventually. They didn't have much time to waste. The Lurkers: The Reverend P.I. (ILuvHats) was not helping very much. Perhaps that was to be expected when introducing a clergyman to violence, but they needed more from him. Lord Ghent (Devotary of Spontaneity) appeared to be more focused on what the town could do than on which people were killing the town. His investigations might prove useful, but he need to participate in the task at hand. For whatever reason though, Mindful trusted him slightly. It seemed the Lord didn't want to sully his hands with the distasteful act of murder. Rathinald (Rathmaskal) was insisting that logic be used in these trying times. Mindful wasn't sure how logical one could be when insanity lurked around every corner, but she agreed in theory. She just wanted him to put that logic into action. Enasni (Xinoehp512) was still swaying back and forth. It was creeping Mindful out. She screamed at him to do something else. It didn't seem to be having any effect. The Cowards: Nogard fo Redro (Ventyl) hadn't been seen since the kilings began. He might have been already dead for all Mindful knew. That would be a shame, but there was nothing she could do about it. However, Arr. K. Thousantoo (Ark1002) had no such excuse. They had been spotted only six hours ago. This was simply unacceptable. They had to fight back against the cultists. There was no point in hiding.
  11. I'm a bit miffed that no one is defending Cad Com. If he is evil, I'm not sure what information we gained from this. If he's innocent, as I believe, then there's no guarantee the people voting on him are evil. This is why I like lynching inactive players. I'd rather lose to the elims than lose to inactivity.
  12. Mindful, having gone over the roles, turned her attention to the people in front of her. Easni was swaying back and forth, humming to himself. Was he too far gone, or could she gain information from him? She didn't want to push the issue. Rathinal was boasting about his accomplishments lynching cultists. That would be useful, if his words weren't an idle boast. Rathinal was addressing Fade, who was hiding in the shadows. The shadowy figure had leveled an accusation against Lord Ghent. Lord Ghent, for his part, was arrogantly looking away, not bothering to dignify the insult with a retort. Mindful had never heard of this Lord, so there might have been more to him than met the eye. Ruthful was telling stories, while Tim grabbed refreshments. Neither of them stood out very much. Innocent was doing some calculations, and asked to be left alone. Mindful hoped he would be done soon. She could also hear Patrick tossing and turning in a nightmare. Sleep was not coming easy these days. Unfortunately, there should have been more people. Nogard @Ventyl hadn't been seen in days. Perhaps the cult had abducted him. Still, that left three people who had been spotted, but hadn't actually said anything. At least she knew the names of Arr K. Thousantoo @Ark1002 and Mr. Freegift @StrikerEZ. However, there was a man who no one knew the name of, lurking around the edge of town. One person said the stranger might be named @shanerockes but Mindful wanted to know what she could call Shanerockes.
  13. Mindful studied the crowd trying to glean information. The cultists had made everyone strangers to each other, so it was better to focus on what roles people might have. The Governor probably had nothing to do with the cult. If they were, they could have converted the town ages ago. Plus, they had a Bodyguard as a second in command. It would be nice to have someone to trust in this madness. The cult was a problem though. Since the cult's Founder had a silver tongue that could change votes, it would be difficult to lynch them, especially if they started controlling the Governor. And just the thought of the Deep One was enough to make Mindful shudder. It might be better to die than to stay like that. Of course, any other followers of Dagon's Will would be problematic, especially if they could convert others to their side. It seemed as though the deck was stacked against the Town. Still, there had to be some hope. Perhaps the Gravedigger could be the hero they needed, but how were they supposed to know who to kill? The Archaeologist would be consumed with their own study. If they could find a way to protect the town, the academic could be useful, but Mindful thought that chance was low. Any other curiosities they unearthed might be better staying in the ground. Mindful also lumped in the Necromancer with the town. If the Shades were leaving messages for them, the town needed to know about it. All in all, it wasn't looking great for Mindful and the town. That analysis didn't include any third parties. The Bounty Hunter seemed especially dangerous. Other than the Deep One and the Gravedigger, it seemed that anyone they killed would net them a profit. Any petty Criminals seemed more annoying than anything. Trying to steal riches in these conditions seemed like a fool's errand at best. The Journalist didn't seem too bad though. If they gave the town leads, it would be useful. And that was all the roles Mindful could think of, unless there were some other secrets afoot. In this town, who knew? Questions for the GMs @Snipexe and @Elandera How does the Founder role work? Do they lose their own vote if they use their ability? If they use their ability on the Governor, does the extra vote follow the Founder's manipulation? How long does being Insane last for? If you become Insane, does it wear off at the start of the next turn, or are you permanently stuck like that? Why is the Necromancer lumped in with the Neutral roles? What happens if a Neutral party completes their Win Condition? Does the game end? Is the player removed from the game? Are there any Hidden Roles?
  14. Mindful waded out into the shallows. The water was cold today, but she gritted her teeth and bared it. She hurriedly went about her task, gathering seaweed from the ocean floor. It was an odd crop, but Mindful needed all the food she could gather. As she reached the shore, she was careful to slow down, lest she provoke the Shades. With her crop gathered, she set about stringing it up on a clothesline. Given a week or so, it would be dry enough to eat. The other villagers didn't care about it, preferring to harvest fruits and vegetables that grew on land. For Mindful though, there was something attractive about going out into the sea. Since swimming didn't count as running, she could move as fast as she wanted to, and the ocean held a strange allure to her. Still, rumors of cultists were abounding. She hoped to the God Beyond that she wouldn't be lumped in with them. I'm signing up.
  15. Correct. It said in my PM that I protected Rath from the conversion. Once we know who the Inquisitor is, we no longer have to worry about Spikes or Conversions because the Seer will block any actions they try to make.
  16. You're correct in that I'm the Lurcher. I was hoping to prolong that reveal so we didn't have to get into mindgames, but ah well. And you're correct that I protected someone else. The Inquisitor attempted to convert Rathmaskal last night. With the two vote minimum in place, I reasoned that it would be game over if a vote manipulator got converted. I also knew that Drake had gathered too much suspicion from his pillaging of Aman. It would be better if they took someone out of the spotlight, so they decided on Rathmaskal. I'm presuming the Inquisitor is Fura at this point. They had time for two posts Night 2, and yet they didn't have time for an action? And they supposedly smoked Day 1, when Smoking is a Night action this game. All in all, I'm hoping we've got our man.
  17. I can confirm that I was roleblocked Night one. Because of this, we can safely conclude that Cadmium Compounder, Devotary of Spontaneity, and myself are all innocent. So our remaining suspect pool has been reduced to four players. Technically, Cicada hasn't proven their role, but I find it likely that they are telling the truth. So, it's between Fura, Shane, and Stick. Fura has claimed Smoker, which can't be proved until after the lynch. If I was the Inquisitor, it would be the claim I would make. @shanerockes and @_Stick_ what roles are you claiming?
  18. If you're in favor of a role reveal, then now would be the time to do it. You're up on the chopping block, so if you have a way to prove you are not the Inquisitor, you need to tell us ASAP.
  19. It can't be used to clear everyone, because Cadmium Compounder was the only person, other than Aman, to vote on someone besides Aman. If you truly believe someone is innocent, you have to back up your actions by voting for an alternate candidate.
  20. Well, the lack of conversion gave us more time to find the Inquisitor. I was going to vote on Devotary, but I'm not going to, because I tunneled on them last conversion game, when they were completely innocent. However, I still believe that the Inquisitor is among Devotary, Fura, Stick, or CadCom. I think I'm going to vote on Furamirionind. I tunneled on Devotary during the last conversion game, and I'm experiencing the same thing here, which counter-intuitively makes me think they are good. Cadmium Compounder actually placed a vote on Devotary which makes me trust them some. If I was the Elim, I would try to follow Aman's vote of Stick to try and pocket Aman, rather than go in a different direction. I vaguely trust Stick because of his comment of "ouch" last night. I know it's bad reasoning, but I feel like the Inquisitor would avoid saying something that mundane. Thus, by PoE, I've arrived at Furamirionind.
  21. CadCom voted for Devotary, and Drake obviously soothed Aman's vote. There aren't any contradictions there. Obviously the lynch didn't go as planned. When I made my original post, I assumed that Aman had given a correct Seeking result. My PoE was strictly role based, as Soothing is easily identified, and Seeking would be incredibly difficult to fake. I included myself because I can't prove my role. For the same reason, I included Cicada, as she hadn't proved she was a Coinshot. Unfortunately Aman mistook his metals, which led to a black hole of discussion. Honestly, if I was the Inquisitor, why would I bother putting a vote on Aman? Drake would obviously Soothe Aman's vote, and there were already three villagers vote on him. I highly doubt anyone else would have come up for the lynch. Imagine if we hadn't lynched Aman, but still didn't lynch the Inquisitor. So many IKYKs would occur, and I just wanted to move on. So, where does this leave us? Well, there are ten players left currently, Two of them, Rath and Drake, have both proven themselves as Soothers. So, that leaves us with a 1 in 8 shot of killing the Inquisitor. Personally, as the Inquisitor, I would let the Village lynch Aman, and stay far away from that train. So, for the sake of argument, I'm going to remove the people who voted on Aman from my PoE. It's also interesting that everyone on that train falls into the category of not very talkative. As the Inquisitor, I would try to remain active, in order to avoid any Contribution Crusades. So, that leaves us with only 4 contenders. Fura, Stick, CadCom, and Devotary. I'm guessing it's Fura or Devotary, but I have no solid evidence one way or the other.
  22. Aman (3): DrakeMarhsall, Cicada, Xinoehp Stick (1): Aman Well now, this is interesting. Our friend Aman has claimed to be a Seeker, but he's gotten his results wrong. He of course is claiming that he was drunk. While it is true that an Inquisitor appearing is reason for drinking, his explanation leaves a lot to be desired. Namely, that he edited back in suspicion of Drake to his first post of the day. Now, it is possible that Aman is telling the truth. However, with so much of the discussion surrounding him, I believe it is in our best interest to lynch Aman.
  23. Alright, we'd need Drake to confirm, but it's a gutsy claim to make if Aman was the Inquisitor. Since PMs aren't open this game, Drake's role (if he has that role) couldn't leak through that method. If Aman was guessing as the Inquisitor, I doubt he would guess Rioter, since that role had already been killed. @DrakeMarshmallow please confirm your role. Okay, so if we assume that Drake is a Rioter, and Aman is a Seeker, that limits the suspect pool. I'm going to hesitantly say that @Rathmaskal is probably a Soother, but I would also like confirmation on that one. So the remaining suspect pool is: Furamirionind, Cicada, Xinoehp512, Stick, Cadmium Compounder, Shanerockes, Devotary of Spontaneity, Sart
  24. Okay, I was going to add more reasoning to my Drake vote, but my car had just gotten its oil change finished, so I had to drive off. Mostly it was his first post, and overall defensiveness. Then again, upon re-reading, it makes sense for village-Drake to vote on Rath because he had a village read on Stick. Hmmm.. I've still got bad gut vibes from him, but I'm starting to worry I'm tunneling.
