Ron, what's happening on the field? Well Tom it looks like Chakrami and TJ have gotten into an epic battle. That's strange, I thought they were allies. Evidently not. TJ just eliminated Chakrami. What a good show of force! Wait a second. It looks like Chakrami got the last laugh. TJ was also eliminated. Well, that's one way for an alliance to end. Gears has been eliminated. TJ Shade has been eliminated. This Round will end on Friday, September 18th, at 8:00 PM CST. As a reminder, this game will end after Round 9. If more than one player is still standing after Round 9, the player with the most eliminations is dubbed the winner. Player List:

It looks like the competition is heating up once again. There's a lot of action happening on the field. Ron, can you bring us up to speed? Sure Tom. It looks like Straw has made a lot of enemies, and that's going to cost him the game. He's out. And if I look on the other side of the field, I can see that Alex made a fatal mistake by overextending himself. Another elimination. And breaking news, Faleast has also been eliminated. I have no idea where that Line of Vigor came from. My goodness. That's a lot of action, and the game's only halfway through. I wonder what will happen next. Straw has been eliminated. Illwei has been eliminated. Ashbringer has been eliminated. This round will end on September 17th at 8:00 PM CST. As a reminder, please get in your actions. Also please remember that any PMs opened by eliminated players are closed. Player List:

Well Ron, it looks like the activity has died down some. That's definitely the case. Everyone's settled into a rhythm, not letting anything breach their defenses. That makes for good Rithmatics, but it's bad for the commentators. There's not much to say about a stalemate. Not so fast, Tom. It looks like Elan Haynes has over-extended themselves, and a stray Line of Vigor eliminates them. Oh my. That just shows that this game can change at the drop of a hat. Elkanah has been eliminated. This cycle will end on September 15th at 8:00 PM CST. Please remember to get in your actions on time. Player List:

Well Ron, what's the latest from the field? The battlefield has been turned into a cloud of chalk dust. It's hard to make out what's going on. I think I see one elimination already. Joshua's Line of Warding has been breached. You're right about that, but I have no idea who hit him. Oh, and it looks like Shard is out as well! I wonder what happened there. And to the east of the field, I can see a concerted effort to take down Locke Tekiel. He's already down for the count. I don't know what he did, but he must have ticked someone off. That's all for now, but the competition is really heating up. Who will be the next to fall? Matrim's Dice has been eliminated. Experience has been eliminated. Orlok Tsubodai has been eliminated. This round will end at our normal rollover time of 8 PM CST on Tuesday, September 15th. This means this round is slightly shorter than normal. I apologize for the inconvenience. As a reminder, any PMs made by dead players are now closed. Please be mindful of that this cycle. Also, remember to get your actions in. Player List:

Since a lot of people are asking this, no you are not notified if you are roleblocked. You are not notified if you successfully defended against an attack. You will be notified if you lose your extra life from the Taylor Defense. If you attack someone and they are still alive, you will be told that your target is still standing. You will not be told if your attack was roleblocked, if your target was defending, or if they lost their extra life.

Looks like the competitors are starting out slow. There isn't much action happening on the field right now. That's true Tom. Most likely they're paranoid about making a mistake. Like Reading over there. His hands are shaking like crazy. Oof. And when you're hands start shaking, your Defense crumbles. Reading is out. Other than that, no other eliminations. I wonder if this next round is going to pick up. Shard of Reading has been eliminated. This Round will end slightly later, at 10 PM CST, on September 14th 2020. And remember, please get in your actions. Player List:

Alright, Ron, the Rithmatists have taken the field, alliances have been formed and bets have been wagered. It all comes to a head here. We wish all of our competitors the best of luck. And with that, let the games begin. This is Round 1. All existing PMs are now closed. If you don't have the Osborn defense, you cannot initiate new conversations. If you have the Osborn defense, you must create new PMs. Please remember to get your actions in. Failure to submit actions twice in a row, will result in elimination via the inactivity filter. This Round ends in 24 hours, at 8 PM CST on Sunday. Good luck. Player List:

Yes, that is correct. The Osborn player can create a PM with any number of players. Those players can communicate in private, so long as the Osborn player remains in the game.

Alright, there's a lot of rules questions being thrown my way, so let me try to answer some of them. Technically, they are allowed. However, you cannot use any third party programs to encrypt or decrypt messages. That provides an unfair advantage, and is against the general rules. You are allowed to use ciphers of your own creation though. That person would die. Lines of Forbiddance negate a single attack. Super chalklings go out at the exact same time. In that scenario, both players would be blocked during the next cycle. No. You must choose whether you are attacking, defending, or stunning someone. The Matson Chalklings go out at the same time, so Player B loses their action for the next cycle. In addition, Player C loses both the current rounds action, and the next round's action. Yes, that is still a possibility. No it does not. The PMs are closed. Yes, it does. If the Sumison defense hits a Taylor player who has lost an extra life, they will be told their target has a damaged Taylor defense. The Ballintain sends out 2 Lines of Vigor using a single action. Notably, the extra Line of Vigor goes before all other Lines of Vigor. In other words, if a non-Ballintain player and a Ballintain player target each other with Lines of Vigor. The Ballintain player survives, while the other player is eliminated. Matson Lines of Making -> Lines of Forbiddance -> Ballintain Lines of Vigor -> Lines of Vigor -> Lines of Making

Alright folks. There were rumors of a minor rain delay, but the weather has cleared up. It's every Rithmatic students' dream to be here, so I'm glad we're able to have it happen on time. As the students enter the field, right now their mind is only on one thing. Really? What are they focusing on? Strategy. Makes sense. After all, having allies in the early rounds really makes the difference. And in the late game, your defense might just decide your fate. I imagine there are going to be plenty of deals made, but in the end, only one will win. Let's see what these players have in store for us. Welcome to QF47. This is the Preparation Phase. I'll be sending each player a PM for them to submit their Defense request. Failure to submit a Defense will result in the player a random Defense. In addition, in this part of the game, PMs are open. Please include both myself, and the impartial moderator for this game @Devotary of Spontaneity to any PMs you make for this game. This Phase will end in 48 hours, at 8 PM CST, September 12th, 2020. Good luck everyone. Player List:

The person with the Taylor defense will be told that they lost a life, but it will not be revealed in the writeup. You are not told if you are blocked. That is correct. You'll receive a PM from me where you will submit your Defense and then your actions. This is a re-run of QF35 Yes to both of you. Group PMs are allowed, and Osborn players can make group PMs as the game goes on.

Everyone starts the game with one life. Taylor players gain an additional life at the end of Round 1. Everyone's defense is secret. Defenses are not revealed on elimination. Exactly. A Line of Forbiddance negates one attack, but Ballintain attacks count as two attacks, so it pierces the Line of Forbiddance. If a player had two Lines of Forbiddance on them (presumably from a temporary alliance), they would survive the attack. You cannot split the Ballintain attack between two targets. There is no lynch this game. Yep, you've got it. If a player has an extra life, and gets hit by a Ballintain attack, they are eliminated. If they are guarding while they have an extra life, they still lose the extra life, but they remain in the game.

I'm kind of checked out on this game right now, but I can at least provide some useful informatio Considering that I'm likely to die tonight, I might as well share whatever info I've got. I actually received the Passion of Research Night 1. I used it on TJ Shade. He's a villager. which lines up with what happened in the Day Cycle yesterday. So, my trust reads are definitely TJ and Matrim, for nailing the lynch on Vapor. I'm definitely suspicious of Experience. They tried really hard to defend Vapor without implicitly defending them, and it seems suspicious.
