  1. Pewter and Gold (because you can store pewter health in a goldmind) would let you basically power gold with pewter. While less powerful than compounding this would 1. Not require you to buy gold to maintain your immortality and 2. Give you strength and speed boosts while still being able to basically use your Allomantic pewter regeneration with much greater efficiency. Not Miles level, but Miles couldn't punch his way through a brick wall, could he? Though I guess he could just blow it up. While standing next to it. Anyway, basically bloodmaker powers with the disadvantages of needing to be sick replaced with buckets of allomantic pewter.
  2. SCALZI!!! Also, when all the Mistborn trilogies are out, the SA is done, and Dragonsteel is finished, Tor needs to release omnibusi usable as weights, with the books fitting into slots to modify the weight. Elantris for warmup bicep curls.
  3. Depends on how much you fear waking up with a sharpened feather in your jugular...
  4. In the epilogue, doesn't Taln show up with Hoid specifically noting his dark eyes?
  5. I know. I'm bad at this. Which is why I need someone else to parse it properly.
  6. Of fires that burned and yet they were gone. Of heat he could feel when others felt not. Of screams his own that nobody heard. Of torture sublime, for life it meant "That nobody heard!" he screamed, Felt the others no heat he could feel, They were gone, yet he burnt fires.
  7. Yesterday's quote could be half of a ketek...anyone want to parse it?
  8. Thanks, Weiry
  9. I have another suggestion for the magic: if perfecting draws in perfection, then it would require an abundance of manmade objects, the more detailed, the better. It follows, then, that jail cells used to contain perfecters would be as simple as possible, while perfecters would want to keep as much ornate finery. It also means that "reverse-perfectors" or desecrators are possible - pushing the perfection of one object into other objects in the area, making, for example, a hammer's head fall off much more easily or turning a door flimsy. On the perfection trance-state, wouldn't it make sense for there to be Perfectors who used it to design structurally sound buildings, or to make ideal metal implements? Slightly off-topic, but if you want a good example of order-related powers, read Wildbow's "Worm", specifically the sections dealing with Accord, Harbinger, Tattletale, the Number Man, and a couple others.
  10. Maybe there were some time shenanigans?
  11. Welcome to our corner of the Internet! Please partake in our theory-creation, and watch out for the Shards of Adonalsium - they can be quite enigmatic.
  12. It's a glyph, which is a pictogram somewhat similar to Chinese characters in function, but simpler. Though highly stylized, it depicts a bridge over a chasm with the top "x" design being the number 4 in Alethi glyphs.
  13. That would kind of kill his foot, wouldn't it?
  14. That would be kind of silly. The whole thing on Roshar seems to be (magically) your lineage being less important than your behaviour.
  15. There are many and various theories. Perhaps they want to imprison, talk to, steal from, deliver a package to, indoctrinate, assassinate, incorporate, or simply observe him. Nobody but Brandon and co. really know.
  16. since his compounding technically used Allomancy as the delivery mechanism, and Vin burnt pewter while asleep, it's also possible that he was just burning the atium instinctually. Either that, or he modified his body during his Ascention to not need sleep. The wakefulness compounding seems pretty likely though.
  17. Hoid is: Yolenese A casual trickster and master of stories A world hopper and possibly time traveller He has been seen using (yolenese?) light weaving. WoB says he's a feruchemist He often takes the role of a storyteller or jester(Wit, Imperial Fool, in Warbreaker) or a beggar (Mistborn, Elantris) Apparently the most powerful non-shard in the Cosmere Often turns up at plot-critical junctures.
  18. Well you can just do this: Basically, bbcode recognises a lot of plain English color names - making the whole hexadecimal thing a little unneccesary, if more precise. Take out the period, btw.
  19. Welcome to the community, in a vocal role! Please enjoy yourself, and feel free to take part in the insane-theory machine!
  20. Welcome!
  21. Welcome, welcome, and enjoy our frantic theory-crafting. If you aren't too shy, please join in!
  22. I subscribe to the theory that her altered face was that of her previous surgebinder, and she's trying to trigger more memories or just spend a moment in nostalgia.
  23. I like the idea that the actual shardpool is somewhere beneath, but the lakewater mixes with and dilutes the power while spreading it all over the lake
  24. Maybe give us a chapter to sketch in Tavaril, even foreshadow his Perfecting skills before the raid? Plotwise, I advise getting to know the character and world before you go too heavy on the plot.
  25. An entire shipment? What are you doing, building a throne made entirely of copies of Words of Radiance, reading the one on the arm while cackling madly?
