Haha yeah. Child-friendly obscenity, hey? Also, that puts the title of "stormwarden" in an entirely different light

Peter, if you read this, look upon the monster you have created with Brandon. LOOK UPON THIS MONSTER AND FEEL PRIDE.

What are you most excited about to see in Words of Radiance

Imagine your home country was ravaged by a warrior race that powered their vehicles with lemon juice, used lemon juice for torture, and had a lemon on their flag. This might cause lemons to become taboo in the coming centuries. Same with foresight, just taken (as with many other things) to an extreme by the Alethi. -
Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Swimmingly replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The town awoke to a bloody pulp ripped to shreds at the base of the gallows. A scrap of cloth identified it as Meta. And there was much rejoicing."Anyone else feel like karmic order has somehow been restored?" asked everybody. "Yes," answered everybody else.- 739 replies

Long Game 3: Blackwater Village
Swimmingly replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lents frowns at the offer of uranium parts. He feels like he should be suspicious; there's something about it...Properties of uranium, he recites to himself. Heavy as hell, used in weapons, expensive, contraband and radio...radiosomething. Radio...Radioactive! Well, that shouldn't be a problem. He walks to forage, clinking, whirring, and clanking, and shakes his hand. No electric shock this time. "It's a deal. But just the parts. I build my own contraptions." Forage smiles broadly, the red sun setting off a bright crimson gleam in his eyes. "Of Course sir for you only the Best!" he cries. He rushes off, pulling on lead aprons and oven mitts, trying to look inconspicuous. Time to see that peddler - Asp. The "lead misting" ought to have some extra lying around - perhaps he can be convinced to part with some for a price...- 739 replies

I'm guessing that Rayse was a manipulative bastard before Odium. The kind that you can be good friends with and yet still be extremely uncomfortable around when they start acting up. One day, he crossed the line. Then he took for himself the power of pure hatred. These things can alienate your friends, even magnificent bastards like Hoid himself.

By Ruin's power, I meant his Investiture, the power being drawn from him.

I though peter mentioned that they come closer than geosynchronous orbit?

That sounds more like Vorin religious interpretation than a reference to a prison. It probably refers more to the Herald's divine attributes.

We need a dreamcanon subforum. For the terminally obsessed.

I dreamt that Syl leaves Kaladin, Kal acquires different bondspren, the book is mostly timeskips with us checking in on Kal's growing Surgebinding cult every few years, and everyone dies of old age. Rapidly, TLR style.

By the way, I've been looking for the reading you did because everyone was saying it was great, and I haven't been able to find it. Do you think you could link that?

"He carries the blade of lords. Almighty, why must he kill? Why must he kill!" "One remains. He is not far now - I see him struggling, he sees me - the pain he feels. I feel it as my own. Release me, Almighty!" "Everything is so dim. Why must you take what I would have given freely? For that, I will deny you all but this: You are doomed to fail. The Everstorm comes, and I will ride it as it takes you."

Or, you know, it was clearly a spear.

That was my deductive answer based on these facts: 1. It's sure as Damnation not Preservation 2. It occurs because of Ruin's magic system. 3. It. Is. Eeeeeeevil, and that about fits with Ruin. Feel free to theorize otherwise. I should have been more clear that I was simply stating the answer that seemed most obvious. To me it just seems part of the magic system, like why Stormlight makes you glow or Soulseals use organic ink. A structural detail.

Aha! You imply that Renarin dies during the end of the book, presumably in the climatic battle scene!Or you intended for us to figure that out, and your troll-fu is strong. I bow to you, sir.

NOOOOOOO not lopen. Anybody but Lopen. Teft, sure, he's got a dodgy past and a history of betrayal. Moash might be loyal, but he could be equally terrible if he was turned. Leyten - what's his deal, the innocuous blacksmith's apprentice? Peet, the quietly dependable, I'm sure is a troll and villain of epic proportions inside. But Lopen? He's funny, inappropriate, useful, and unique in his cripplement. I'd rather Rock go evil than Lopen.
