  1. "Lists, lists, LISTS!" Aether threw himself manically at his meticulous and scholarly work. He quickly went through his memory of the evenings discussions. "Currently, we have one volunteer to be subjected to Beetle's seeking. I shall add any others to this as they step forth." And with that, Aether walked up the wall where his previous lists still hung proudly. He then fished out his tools, and proceeded to hammer loose at his large piece of paper, using way too many nails. Maill
  2. You've got a good point, but again, considering that the Stonewarden from the "Starfalls" chapter claimed she would here anything Dalinar said - despite the distance - does make something to the effect of Resonance seem more likely.
  3. I'd call you a try-hard, Swimmingly, if you weren't so gorram funny! +1
  4. In-game or out-of-game, I'd probably trust that oath. It is probably more fair to do a vote, though, as suggested by Beetle. Even if he is spiked, it is a good idea. EDIT: Second thought, the Spiked might be able to manipulate that vote in their favour. EDIT 2: Second second thought, if we assume that both you and Beetle are spiked, it would be ingenious to get "the Seeker" to seek you. AAAARGH!!!
  5. Let's kill him, guys! OF WITH HIS HEAD!!!!!! Or not. You weren't the only one who found reason to suspect Edgar.
  6. Comments on "City of Elantris". Spoiler-tags added for clarity (though it does, on the surface at least, look a bit messier this way): HISTORY Construction: The Reod: New Elantris: The Restoration of Elantris: LANDMARKS Royal Palace: University: Hidden Library: Bank: Korathi Church: AONDOR Elantrians The Shaod: Power Amplification: TRIVIA Nothing to say here. Well done! General thoughts: I feel "Elantrian Metropolitan Area" is a bit distracting. It can technically be called that, but I feel like it is a bit out-of-place.. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ . . I might have overdone it a tad, but I hope that can still be useful. Permit me to say that it is a really nice-looking and well-written article, but there are a substantial amount of things that has to be corrected. Some of it is negligible - feel free to ignore that - but I feel like most of it is rather pertinent. My suggested changes aren't necessarily the best, though.
  7. The one he protects could easily be Sadeas as well. He cannot do much about him directly because it would destroy Alethkar. I like your suggestion better, though, since it links the two sentences.
  8. I just love how my "sprenbinding" is becoming a thing. Help me, Moogle, in my crusade for making "Sprenbinding" an acceptable Cosmerian (Cosmeric? Cosmerpolitan?) word!
  9. It might just be a power game for her. She said herself that power is mostly an illusion. The way she dresses would help maintaining that illusion.
  10. In the same article, he has said that the next SA books will come at a frequency of every 18 months, or 24 at most. I am also quite sure that he's promised one big (SA sized) and one small (Alloy of Law sized) each year in the years hence. EDIT: Misquoted the number of months.
  11. Welcome to the site! Beware, though, for this is a world that can suck you in and never let you go!
  12. Ah, ok. My list was more intended to show the plethora of planets the other expanses was referring to anyway. So that means that "Expanses of Densities" has to refer to either Sel, Scadrial or Nalthis, given that the Rosharan Shadesmar probably wouldn't be connected to itself. In that case, I think Sel or Scadrial are the best candidates, for the various reasons presented above.
  13. I was not aware. Does that mean that Brandon ultimately cannot use that title?
  14. It might not have that many theoretical restrictions, but it is really impractical to use in a real-time battle scenario, for example. I believe more or less all other systems would beat them one on one, as long as the Elantrian doesn't have time to prepare before the battle starts.
  15. As far as I am aware, you can say whatever the heck you want. Even lie. Or - Lord Ruler forbid - tell the truth! The only difference is that you get to have a private conversation only with the people you choose, instead of rambling on about stuff at the pub or in the town square for everyone to hear. EDIT: Removed a superfluous comma. Yeah! I'm meticulous like that!
  16. We have WoB on magic on Sel being regional. I'll edit them in when I find them. But that isn't really needed. We have in-world descriptions of the Shaod only taking people from Arelon, or who are tied to Arelon in some way, (as you yourself pointed out), and Raoden mentions that his magic is considerably weaker in Teod then what it was in Arelon. When he tried to teleport back with Serene, he only managed to get down to the docs, even though the Aon equations were more or less the same. EDIT: All the relevant quotes I found through a few quick searches on Theoryland:
  17. I am not entirely convinced that the plan even would have to rely upon the Illumination surge. It could be done with ordinary "slight of hand" type stuff.
  18. It is also perfectly possible that she's asexual. There are people around who just aren't that attracted to other people.
  19. Well, it was a working title anyway. Thanks for the info. Thinking about it though, I originally thought "Stones Unhallowed" sounded a bit haughty, but I think I prefer that to "Skybreaker". It's too straightforward!
  20. Honestly, I have no idea. I felt so sure about Edgar, or at the very least that they were both spiked. I'm going to stick to the plan though and vote for Beetle tomorrow, as originally agreed upon.
  21. I didn't actually have time to switch my vote. My job interview took too long xD. Turns out I was wrong about Edgar. Though I believe we had ample reason to suspect he was the spiked one. Oh, well, as per our agreement: I vote for Beetle. EDIT: I forgot it was night phase, so I'll wait until tomorrow instead. Colour (temporarily) removed.
  22. I do not have time to go look for the actual list, but it has been quoted enough in the fora for me to be reasonable certain about things: The first five-book cycle is more or less fixed with each book having flash-back sequences for one character: Book 1, Kaladin, the Way of Kings Book 2, Shallan, the Words of Radiance Book 3, Szeth, Stones Unhallowed (working title) Book 4, Eshonai, Unknown title Book 5, Dalinar, the Highprince of War (possible title) The second cycle is more in flux, though Brandon has spoken of Jasnah, Taln, Gavilar and Adolin as possible flashed characters. EDIT: I am second-guessing Gavilar. I'm not sure he has been suggested as a flashing character.
  23. It's mentioned in the book that the Storms are substantially weaker by the time they reach the West end of the Continent. If the planet is big enough, the shock-wave going the other way might have dissipated long before it reaches around the globe.
  24. I think Resonance or Frequency or something to that effect would make sense, especially considering the Stonewarden's comments from the "Starfalls" chapter.
