  1. Actually, she was one of the five ambassadors. She left with another one, though, when the three eldest stayed behind to cover their escape.
  2. Brandon hasn't said anything directly, but he has indicated that it is because of rampant Shardic power, which is the result of both Selish Shards being splintered. Think of it as an eternal Cognitive Highstorm. Rather dangerous to pass through.
  3. Brandon has released some samples from the Liar of Partienel, which you get read here. EDIT: Ninja'd.
  4. Do you have a suggestion for him, then? I've presented my options.
  5. Are you suggesting that he's to stay his hand? Tomorrow, we'll have more time to for discussion about who's who, but I don't think we can afford to give them kill another one of us without retribution. If we are to win, we have to risk hitting a villager for the chance of killing a Spiked one tonight. If not, and they have the Soother/Rioter, then we're more or less screwed anyway.
  6. Yeah. We really have to weigh our actions closely. I feel rather confident about Darnam though (though, admittedly, my confidence haven't served me that well thus far). The only other person I can think of would be Wilson. She clutched on to Beetle suspiciously early on. I cannot help but think it looks like she wanted to lodge herself firmly in with a potential Seeker.
  7. As previously stated, I'm rather confused at this point. But after rethinking it, I have one villager I suspect above all: Darnam. He was the one who suggested the deal of killing off both Edgar and Beetle (although I vocally suspected Edgar at that point (and Darnam!)), and now that both have been more or less proven to have been innocent, he's disappeared. Now, most here have proposed that he has lost interest in the game because of all the apparent toxicity in his arguments with some of us. That, however makes me realise how perfect such a tactic could be to completely avoid suspicion. Although not entirely gone, Mat has done a similar thing by being away a lot. He was heavily targeted during the first day, but he almost hasn't even been mentioned for these two past cycles. Now, I do not know about Mat, but Darnam could have seen how effective his lack of attendance have been and copied this tactic. I suggest either target Darnam in tomorrow's vote, or have the Coinshot target him tonight.
  8. Close, but no sigar: Kaladin Shallan Szeth Eshonai Dalinar
  9. I do not think it is of any significance. There were never that many that voted for me, so it is unlikely that it was done to keep me from harm, even if it was an action done early in the day that was just never changed. I feel it smacks more of someone just using their power for fun.
  10. Aether stood in the middle of the now empty inn, looking sullen. I have no longer have any idea of what is going on, he thought. Six villagers down and we still have no clue of who our enemy is. Stepping out of the inn, the scholar noticed something flapping in the wind on a wall in the town square. Walking over, he recognized the distinct style of his own handwriting. I've made so many lists without getting anywhere. "Oh, Power of Systematic and Orderly Cataloguing, why have Thou forsaken me?!" Seriously, though, I think it's time to consider the possibility that they've infiltrated our groups quite thoroughly. It seems like the remaining players are more or less unanimously in support of Beetle's seekingness, but have we considered the possibility that Wilson might be spiked? Or how about Clancy? Porridge and Darnam's long absences seem to have exonerated them from everyone's suspicion, but what if that was part of the plan? Rambling like this only really serves to sow further confusion, I know, but I am trying to launch a discussion here.
  11. Ah, my dear Darnam, but you misunderstand one of the essential characteristics of fandom. We need to know, and we need to know now. And Lord Ruler help anyone who contradicts our pretty little theories ^^ But you make good points. I can agree that Hemalurgy - with the distinct age differences between Koloss, Kandra and Inquisitor - is somewhat of an oddity. I do think that there are merits to this theory, but that there are elements to it that are unknowable at this point, so I'd prefer to kill this discussion of semantics until further information is given, gathered or discovered.
  12. First of all, this theory did not originate with me, and all I've said at this point is that the evidence seem to support it so I am inclined to be in favour of it until we get more evidence either way. And as to the Koloss example, my point is that they do not die of old age; they die of growing to big for their internal organs to continue supporting their size. I am merely suggesting that for all we know, they might not die of old age if their growth could somehow be turned off. Heck, they were designed with their "grow" switch permanently switched on, so I am not sure that you can even compare their growth to the like of Returned and Elantrians.
  13. @Darnam: Actually, I do not believe that the Koloss age per say. They grow, and when they get too big, they die out of heat failure. For all we know, they might still technically be as ageless as the Kandra. So while you might not be able to count it as in favour of the theory, it certainly does not disprove it either.
  14. As in mine. That comment about the winter weather still bugs me. Something was different back then, I just do not think a complete reversal of Roshar's ecology is necessary to accommodate it. +1
  15. I think I remember that decapitation basically did the thing, though. Though anything up to that point didn't seem to be enough. EDIT: Permit me to ad a few more "though"s: though, though, and though the though is rather though. Though.
  16. @Moogle: The Coppermind says "They can also use their power prolong their life well beyond that of an normal human." But I think that is just plain wrong. The article is a stump anyway. But read the prologue to Elantris. I would have done it, but I do not have the book where I am right now. But come on! You can survive reading the prologue!
  17. I'd like to note that the Bells of Khararbranth are said to have been used to warn of Highstorms in ancient times. While hardly conclusive, I do not think they'd have such a legend associated with them if it was a recent construction. Also, the main shaft of the Palanaeum is said to have been made by the Dawnsingers, further indication of Kharbranth's age.
  18. I seemed to remember reading in the book that it took exactly "a thousand breath", but the Coppermind article says "thousands".
  19. And what of Kharbranth? Of Sesemelex Dar? Of the High stone outcropping from the "Starfalls" vision? Are those too the result of side-effects? One time might have been a side-effect, but we've been shown several examples of structures built with protection against Highstorms in prehistoric Roshar. There is a pattern that seems increasingly unlikely to be one of coincidence. There is also the line from Kaladin's out-of-body experience of "no one rides the Storms anymore", which more or less proves that there were at least something similar to today's Highstorms back then. There are signs that the Storms might have been less frequent in prehistoric Roshar. Perusing the "Highway to the Sun" chapter, I found this quote:
  20. I like your analogy. Also, what track record?
  21. Something changed at the advent of the Alethi exploration of the Shattered Plains, though we do not yet know what. And by the way, do we know for how long the Parshendi had existed by that point? I didn't get the impression from Eshonai's Interlude that they had been around for that long. Might their Sprenbinding have been the first (visible) effect of the same cause?
  22. Their correlation is noteworthy, but I think it more likely that they are both set off by the same thing rather than having the same origin. I still do not see why and how Spren would be the cause of the Death *sigh* Rattles. (I prefer Death Chants, therefore the sigh).
  23. Read my edits to my latest post. I haven't bothered to check, but I do think Dalinar remarked upon the structure of Feverstone as well, and how it survived Highstorms, or something. I can check if you'd like.
