Pardon me, I misunderstood. Depending on the length of the Hierocracy, or maybe how late the Recreance might have been, it might be one of those. EDIT: Also, my number of posts just became a palindrome. Yay?

The list has been updated in accordance with the latest corrections. Also, I found it amusing that Shivertongue took the liberty of doing so himself.

I was taking the poster's information on face-value. Teaches me not to use material without links to the original source material. I had been going by the year of birth of the Coppermind. I do not know how those numbers were decided, but I've crossed out the years of Navani and Dalinar in my original post. I assume it is this passage you are refering to: "Adolin was still occasionally caught by surprise, though he'd held [his Shardplate] - inherited from his mother's side of the family - since his sixteenth birthday. That was now seven years past." This makes Adolin 23 years old. Post updated accordingly. I interpreted it as Lift being in her thirteenth year, which would have made her twelwe-not-yet-thirteen. Post updated accordingly. Again, I've been going by the norms of the Coppermind. Since the Rosharan (Alethi? Vorin?) apparently has no name, I've just galled it AC. Short for Arbitrary Calendar. Post updated accordingly. EDIT: Since you didn't correct the age of any of the other characters, I am just going to assume they are correct.

How embarrassing! Aether had missed one! By the Survivor, how could my count have been wrong? Tearing down all of his sheets of paper from the town square, he frantically replaced them with new and updated ones. Only a few minutes afterwards did he realise that there would have been enough room to just add the latest name to the bottom of the lists... My original count has been updated to include our latest participant. Also, up-vote for luckat for joining our game in her (?) first ever forum post!

According to my listed source, Peter has confirmed the date of that Epigraph (Kaladin's leap) to be in sync with the event. Therefore Betabanes.

If you take a look at the Spiked doc, you'll see that I volunteered as a sacrifice from the very beginning. Circumstances made this unnecessary up until the very end. I wouldn't call it "outliving [my] usefulness" when it was the plan all along.

I'll take it! I will not update it until the book is released, though. I realise that we already have a short PoV chapter, but it feels silly to do much before we have the whole stream of events of the Words of Radiance. Are all of the Exemplary articles claimed, now? I noticed Dalinar's article wasn't mentioned in the OP. I'll take it if no one else has.

You are correct. "One" is "Jez Jes" and only "-es" when used as a suffix. I do, however, still prefer EoS, and while we do not know what happened in year one of EoS, I see this more as a quirk of the Rosharan calendar rather than being problematic. If we get a WoB or WoP giving the proper name of the calendar (assuming Era of Solitude is not), then we can consider changing it, both for my post and for the Coppermind. First of all, we do not know that the invoked Epigraph is referring to the arrival of Taln specifically, so I would hesitate to use it to date the Epilogue. Secondly, there is nothing that ties the Epilogue to the events following the Battle at the Tower, which is what happens at the very end of the book - or at the very least at the end of Kaladin and Dalinar's story arcs. The Words of Radiance picks up the very next day, so I feel rather safe using Betabanes 1173 as the date for the end of the Way of Kings.

OK, since I've just given up all pretence of actually doing something productive tonight, I've decided to compose a list of this rounds participants. . Aether had always been slightly... off. He would, from time to time, manically throw himself at some passing interest, methodically and meticulously collecting every single piece of information about the subject. Recently, he had taken upon himself the rather maddening prospect of counting and collecting information about every inhabitant of Urteau! It had taken time, but the work was finally done. Lists, lists, LISTS, Aether screamed silently to himself as he nailed up copies of the completed list all over the town square: . "By the will of the Survior, I, Aether, have composed a list of the inhabitants of Urteau. Read it and feel comforted by knowing who Thy neighbour is: Gamma Fiend is Gamon, local game-maker and a notorious Casanova. bartbug is Barty Spiked, who is absolutely not spiked, but quite possibly a madman. Windrunner is... Windrunner? WeiryWriter is Weiry, a lookout. Awesomeness summoned is Wes, a pick-pocket. By the way, his post sounded hilariously but unintentionally dirty! 213 is Digits, the (I presume) local doctor. Swimmingly is Shimble Leice, a lesser and rather quirky nobleman. PorridgeBrick is Ridge, an expert climber and a wannabe Cassanova. Alvron is Names Vron, a Shady alchemist. Serendipity is Seran, former assassin. Kurkistan is Kukri, a Jaist. Myself as Aether, adept of the Church of the Survivor. loganmathewjohnson as Mathieu, a lesser noble with an Eastern slang. AonarFaileas is Aonar, an ex hazekiller. princess is Cessie, noblewoman. Herowannabe is Herwynbe, former Terris Steward, and somewhat full of himself. (kidding!) dyring is Dyring the innkeeper. Somewhat full of himself. Edgedancer is Eddy. A drunk. lord Claincy Ffnor is Fnord, a self-proclaimed expert on stealth. Speaks words few people can hear. Quiver is Lord Ollivier, Obligator of the Canton of Orthodoxy. Mailliw73 is Maxill, wannabe spy and a Survivorist. Robot Aztec is Roban, the bartender. little wilson is Wilson. Shivertongue is Shiv, a scary guy with an Eastern slang. a cheerfully scary guy with an Eastern slang and a tendency toward kleptomania Alaxel is Alax, an ex Survivorist. jasonpenguin is Peng, an orhpan. Leonardus is Lam, the Sweeper of Streets. Grayv is Grave, a former twixt and and a Jaist. luckat is Lucy, a vindictive and shadowy victim of the Inquisitors. Aspren is Aspren, supply and requisitions officer." Finally finished, he took a few steps back to quietly admire his work. Maybe I should make a list of my lists, too? EDIT: List updated according to the latest participant. EDIT 2: List updated according to the latest corrections.

Now that I have a presence in on the Forum and Coppermind as a book is released - and not long afterwards - I will likely take part in whatever catches my interest that still hasn't been dealt with. That said, I'd still like to have a few tasks assigned, so that I will know what to look for when I start taking notes already on the first read-through.

Yes, it is the seventh post of the Welcome to the 17th Shard! Thread. It was part of the Shardhunt quest, and probably the part most of us got stuck on.

I am really rather not that fond of the "Hero of Ages" title.. So help me get to "the Broken One" quickly by up-voting me! =P

This would certainly help, especially considering that the Rules and Guidelines page is so darn elusive!

@Chaos: I'd be happy to help updating some of the Stormlight articles as a first step towards having a bigger presence on the Coppermind. Since I'm really not that familiar with what is needed, though, would you mind just assigning me a handful of articles for me to update for the release?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Aether replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I do not know what Sanderson fans refer to themselves as in general, but we of the 17th Shard usually refer to ourselves as "Sharders". Considering that this is the official forum, and that quite possibly the majority of the hardcore fans find their way here, I believe that is a good a term as any. -
I am going to stick with EoS as long as they do so on the Coppermind as well. Besides, I prefer it like this so as to avoid confusion, considering that "Es" in Alethi (or possibly just Vorin tradition) means "one". The first day of the first week of the first month of 1173 EoS would then confusingly be written as 1173 Jezeses ES, or something.

Relationship Sections on Character articles
Aether replied to WeiryWriter's topic in The Coppermind Wiki
Sorry to disappoint, Meta, but that was Windrunner, not me. Rest assured, though, when I get serious, there will always be lists. -
I've already made two attempts at determining the age of certain characters, but we have now got a definite WoP on the length of a Rosharan year, which is canonized at 1,1 Earth years. . With this knowledge, and as RP appointed aficionado of lists and self- proclaimed master of Systematic and Orderly Cataloguing of the 17th Shard, I've taken the liberty of making the Definite List of the Ages of Stormlight Archive Characters! . For reference, Rosharan temporal measures: . Hints at the character's specific date of birth:<source> Since we do not know the exact birth-dates of most of the characters, I will for the sake of approximation just assume that they were all born on the first day of the year (Jeseses). A lot of the characters are currently of an unknown age. I will update this list if more information is put forth. Unless otherwise stated, my numbers come from the Coppermind. . Ages by the end of the Way of Kings: Ages by the end of the Words of Radiance: EDIT: Post updated in accordance with Peter's latest corrections. EDIT 2: Recalculated approximate ages for the Words of Radiance. Added in hints at the characters' specific birthdays.

We do not currently know that it is a Nahel Spren Renarin sees. But anyway, I think it is pretty certain that my original hypothesis was wrong. Considering Wyndle's quote, and the fact that Pattern is so... visible... it seems that there are inherent differences between the Nahel Spren.

O_o! Thanks, Peter! That simplifies it!
