He also have the strange habit of reading everything rather light-heartedly, by which I mean that even when he's reading really sad or horrible stuff, it sounds like he could just as well be having a polite conversation about the weather. Do not get me wrong, I love his writing, but I am really great-full that he has stayed as far away from the audio-books as possible!

Actually, no. I meant what I wrote, as sly can mean "playfully mischievous; roguish: sly humour", which fits Syl perfectly. Therefore an entirely appropriate misspelling.

Excluding Lift's Interlude since it has not technically been released yet, with only two Ideals having been spoken directly at this point (the first general one and the second of the Windrunners), and the remaining nine books each having roughly a hundred chapters, an Ideal must be spoken around every 23d chapter. I suppose this is doable, especially if some of them are lumped closely together. If he does manage to write exciting reveals for every one of them, I believe we are in for one hell of a ride!
-
I'd also nominate Rock as a possible Stoneward. While he refuses to fight, he might be the most dependable/resourceful Bridgeman in the entire Bridge Four!
-
If my prediction that Kaladin's explosion was just an unwittingly use of a Force Push type of Windrunner ability, I do not believe that Jasnah's second/third ideal would produce a similar effect. Though a similar reaction from an Elsecaller could maybe end up transporting the entire ship somewhere random.

Even if the pull (push, whatever) towards the wall is stronger than Rock's push (pull, whatever) towards the ground, this should still allow it to slide downwards on the wall (if a bit slowly) as long as the friction between the wall and the rock isn't too excessive. Unless a Full Lashing is just a Simple Lashing to a specific point on the wall, and not just its general direction.

I've transcribed the passage from the in-world Way if Kings, intentionally excluding everything else:

Yeah, this has been discussed extensively in these two Threads, so I think we should keep this particular Thread clean.

I find this misspelling of Syl's name to be entirely appropriate.

Or maybe the ship's cook had just burned the dinner. Joking aside, The Count has a point. While theorizing is fun, we do not have particularly extensive information to go on here.

I feel flattered that you remembered my Thread on this (similar) subject. I hadn't considered the possibility a Full Lashing might not even be using the Pressure Surge at all, though, though considering it now, it does seem possibly, if not that likely. We do agree, however, that the Three Lashings seem unlikely to be the extent of a Windrunner's power. There has some discussion on the nature of the Full Lashing, and it has been suggested that it is technically creating a vacuum between the objects, which provides the adhesive nature of it. I cannot remember in what Thread this was discussed, though. EDIT: Come to think of it, the thing about vacuum might have come up in my own Thread, which KiManiak linked to. I haven't reread it lately, though. EDIT 2: A quick word search for "vacuum" in my Force Push Thread provided these two posts. I seem to remember a more extensive discussion on this particular point, though, so it is likely that there is another and more extensive Thread where this came up. EDIT 3: Another more general word search provided this Thread. I've just barely skimmed it, but it does seem to be the one I was referring too.

I do see it! His uniform should be slightly more grey, though. EDIT: Forgot my usual colour editing.

Permit me to re-enact my own reaction to the video: "This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules?!?!?!" Hilariously funny, though. +1

Theory: Shardblades Barely Harm Infused Surgebinders
Aether replied to Moogle's topic in Stormlight Archive
I wish to add that this would be entirely dependent on how heavily invested a Shardblade is. While presumably being composed of/containing a far from negligible amount of Investiture, we do know that Awakened Blades are "orders of magnitude more powerful than a Shardblade". Inhaling/absorbing Stormlight might improve resistance to infused weapons, but I do not think it would help at all against a weapon such as Nightblood. Whether it helps against a Shardblade - which would be significantly less potent - remains to be seen. -
Great work! +1

Hopefully, Meta will just step in and clear this up as soon as he logs on again.

So that's where that comes from. I've seen some references to sideburns!Elend in other Threads and was utterly confused by it.
-
This... makes sense as well. Poetically so, I might add. But if they were the last to forsake their Oaths and shards, why would the people at Feverstone be so confused by it? If they were really noticeably more stalwart than other Knights Radiant, then they would have to have held on to them much longer than others, making it likely that the guards at the Keep would at least have heard rumours of similar events.

While I tend to obsessively capitalize all Cosmere relevant terms - such as Shardblade and Breath, and yes, Parshendi - would you capitalize Humanity? Or even just Human? I would not necessarily attribute Brandon's choice of not capitalizing the "l" in listeners as being a sign of a low sense of self-importance. In fact, I find this to be entirely tasteful, as it makes me feel like they really only see themselves as just another sentient being, equal in worth, if not necessarily culture, of humanity.

Just to provide some context from the last game, the message from the Spiked villagers (starting at "There is something rotten at the site of Seventeenth" right before the last paragraph) - while chock full of hidden meanings and cultural references - was made mostly for fun without any real meaning at all. While there might be something more to this, I would not put much emphasize on it other than noting that it confirms Peng's target.

I do not think the spiking of a friendly villager would make them lose their original ability (if they have any). From what I understood of the rules, the Inquisitor would only lose his own Hemalurgically granted power, not the original power of the now spiked Misting.

If you agree that Amaram should not be expected to know that Kaladin was a potential Surgebinder, then I fail to see how his reasoning would fall short of being utilitarian. His decision was likely coloured by his own selfishness, but that aside, his proclaimed reasoning was that a respected Brightlord - familiar with both Plate and Blade - would be able to do more good with the shards than a seemingly capable but trivial Darkeyes. Even if the shards would have made Kaladin a Lighteyes, he would still not have the position, nor the knowledge, to make proper use of them - at least to Amaram's knowledge. A utilitarian point of view would be to go for the method that would likely provide te greatest possible outcome to the greatest amount of people. That Kaladin later turned out to be a Knight Radiant in-making would only in hindsight show that Amaram's decision might actually have ended up giving a worse outcome. Especially since Amaram likely could not possibly have known that Surgebinding was returning. I do not entirely get what you mean with "the out-of-world known meta".

You are making a lot of assumptions here, but I have to admit that I like the general feel of it, and that it does fit. I noticed on little hiccup, though: Consider Honour's opening comments: "They were the first" does seem to imply that this was only the first happening where Radiants abandoned forsook their Oaths and abandoned their Shards. I interpret the "but also the last" part to mean that these were the last true Radiants. Even though Vorin sources might be tainted in a lot of ways, the common "knowledge" that the Knights Radiant was an evil organization does fit with the implication that some of the Orders (or at least individual members of the Orders) went rogue and misused their powers, instead of abandoning their shards and powers as the Windrunners and Stonewards did at Feverstone Keep. I am not sure conceding this point would change much of your over-all theory, though.

I do agree that Tangled isn't really Disney's hitherto most profound film. I believe you'd have to go to older Disney epics for that (looking at you, Lion King). It is, on the other hand, arguably as close to spotless as Disney has ever been. (At least apart from that stupid "and after years, and years of asking, I finally said yes" thing at the very end, which felt a lot like a last minute addition to an otherwise surprisingly mature film to avoid any sort of controversy. Disney seems to view itself almost as America's moral compass, and in my opinion, this - along with their side-kick obsession - has put a huge hamper on their ability to keep up with Pixar (looking at you, Mulan). I guess they solved that problem by just buying them up, though.) The circumstances of my first view of Frozen did not really prompt me to take any deeper look into it. But considering your rather profound and interesting take on it, I want to give it another, this time closer, look.
