She might have Soulcast a lifeless copy of herself. Though on second though, she's supposed to be rather unskilled at soulcasting organic stuff. Though on second second thought (third thought?), if I remember correctly, the lighting was pretty bad and the situation chaotic, so she might have made a passable copy of her figure that could have passed as her sleeping (or unconscious) body. Anyways, while I disliked having her death being completely nullified towards the end of the book, I am happy I can still hold on to my Jasnah/Kaladin OTP.

You make a really convincing point, and I more or less agree with you but for one thing: while the Thrill is "activated" or "deactivated" by your motivations for fighting, I think there is possible to become completely immune to it as well, as Kaladin currently is. Whether this is an effect of the Nahel Bond, or the result of abandoning fighting for the glory of it, I do not know, but I interpret the WoB as meaning that Kaladin is physically immune to it.

HIghstorms are wet. The Stormwall alone is described as a wall of water and wind, and there is a substantial downpour both under and after the storm itself. While it you are correct to point out that a Highstorm is quite different from a Tsunami, there is a massive displacement of water. I was only using Tsunamis as a clear and easily accessible example of a real-world equivalent.

I think there might be. As in "I cannot hear your song. What are you, mute????" Seeing how important song and intonation are for them, I believe this might be a rather grave insult.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

As I've already mentioned here, this particular trait of the Purelake has real-world equivalents. The drawbacck of the Purelake's water before a Highstorm is likely completely natural (though the Highstorm itself is likely not). This doesn't say anything against the idea of it really being a Shardpool, though I fail to see any substantial evidence for it.

If we permit ourselves to be slightly liberal with the definition, there are two kinds of Worldhopping: Literal worldhopping, where you literaly "jump" from one world to another through either direct teleportation or some other means of FTL travel, or what most Cosmere aware people mean by "Worldhopping", which is using the particular quirks of Shadesmar (id est the Cognitive Realm) to travel between worlds. Why Selish Worldhopping is difficult has to do with the nature of Shadesmar on Sel1,2,3, and is commonly thought because of the rampant Spiritual energy that is the Dor.

Storm-light might not be the only source of energy
Aether replied to Arook's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think you might have a slight misconception of what evolution is. It pertains exclusively to living beings, not nature itself. The Purelake did not "evolve", but is likely a naturally occurring phenomenon caused by more or less completely natural effects. The water's draining before a Highstorm might seems strange, but this has real world equivalents, such as when the water retreats before the arrival of a Tsunami (caused by the massive displacement of huge volumes of water). It is likely caused purely (see what I did there? ) by the Highstorm itself, draining and absorbing water from the ocean and other big bodies of water. While the Purelake might be a Shardpool, that particular fact probably have little to do at all with this particular characteristic of the Purelake. EDIT: Also, I fail to see why my particular post was relevant for your idea. I was trying to establish that there were most likely Highstorms in pre-Aharietiam Roshar. Your idea about Stormriding is interesting, though. -

I can do this. I actually had, more or less, but it got lost in an unfortunate page refreshing. I shall take a look tomorrow. I shall take my payment in Sodium.

I... am dumbstruck. This is either the best or the worst pun I've ever read - no middle way.

Im on wheel of time book 6....(is it worth it to get to book 12?)
Aether replied to metaldragon's topic in The Wheel of Time
It is definitely worth reading through the series, and though I have to admit that I really did not like the upcoming Perrin arc, I - like Gamma - absolutely love Mat! Some of it is a bit slow in book 7-9 (I really liked 10), but I can promise you that the climax of each of them makes it worth reading through any lull you might find. I literary jumped up and down throughout most of the last chapters of each and every one of them. Oh, yeah, and 12-14 are absolutely epic. The scene where Egwene and another Aes Sedai discuss the colour of a dress from the Gathering Storm is amazing (I am not joking here. You'll understand when you get there)! -

Wasing the wanting of naming Spook? -
&%#¤!!!!!!!!!! I had a bloody long post here - including SEVERAL lists - but I accidentally updated the tab. Anyone knows if it is possible to recuperate it somehow? If not, I'll do it over again, but it would have to wait for a few hours.

This has been discussed before, and I believe a common theory was that the newer Misting ability would override the old one. At least that is what the MAG would suggest. These are only guesses, though, since apart from the MAG, we only have some scarce and imprecise WoBs on the effects of Lerasium alloys.

Can I be Spook? -
You make a very good point. The difference between him and Sadeas, though, is that there still seems to have been a tiny little shred of reticence and guilt left in him. While what he did is by all definitions despicable, there could still be hope for him yet.

Do not mess with the Shiv, dude. And I hope for all our sake that he doesn't turn out to be the Inquisitor in the Devil's Den game!

Ron Pearlman, seriously? I do not mean to be rude or demeaning in any way, but I just do not see it. He is too big too play Marsh or Kelsier, not quite charming or philosophical enough to pull off Ham, and he isn't imposing enough in the right way to play the Lord Ruler (who I really cannot see as anyone else than Benedict Cumberbatch, anymore). He might make a cool Inquisitor, but I just cannot see him as anything else Up-vote though for making your first post ever. Welcome to the forums, Bruj! EDIT: Actually, come to think a bit closer on it, I think he would make a very cool Inquisitor. His grin with Spikes through his eyes would be incredibly creepy! You know, in a good way!
