  1. Not all will be youtube-links. Nuff said.
  2. Sell. Rlain might have the chance to become one (he and Eshonai are the only recognizable (and good) Parshendi, and since there are indications that there will be a Parshendi KR, both are good (though really just the only) candidates), but I think it more likely that they will both become Squires. I do not think Lopen is damaged enough (at least his soul isn't) to become a KR. We will see more duplicate KRs in Stones Unhallowed (id est more than for each Order).
  3. You've found one of my Easter Eggs! (not that it was that hard to find...). I have several more planned, though as per this post, I think this would be the only one currently up. Also, Ylvis is Norwegian. I like Ylvis. South America has little representation mainly because I won't be able to expand the List any more today. I might continue to pass through the forum, but likely won't be able to sit down to work on it until sunday. But do keep giving me helpful notes, as well as just popping by to announce your nationalities. It'll all shorten my work load considerably when I start updating again.
  4. Not really a fan, but I laughed hard when I looked up this song.
  5. Buy. Because this have to happen. Also because more Wayne. (MOAHR!!!) Shallan will die by the end of the Stormlight Archive.
  6. I was about to say that my Signature specifically said Aether's List of Lists, but I happened to word it openly. Given how incredibly impressive yours is, of course it deserves a place there. I shall have to ponder on how I can properly accredit you, though. EDIT: There. Let me know if you like it. I shall endeavour to add other Lists as well. I should really extend the List-Maker population. And in honour of this immensely thorough and baffling work, I hereby give you the title of Padawan, advance you to the rank of List Knight and bestow upon you the title of List Master, all at once. Thus, you surpass the only other official List-maker, littlewilson, who is still at the rank of Padawan.
  7. You can give up your birthday and not the year of your birth, but not the other way around, which is what I would like.
  8. Oh, I agree. It was unjust that Ym got away from the consequences of his actions, but at the same time, it would be unjust to punish a 40-ish year older Ym for the crimes in his (far) past.
  9. I have noticed and have already been using it to find people's country of origin/residence. Your far-off but up-coming announcement would thus be superfluous. Aside for just being a passing fancy (though one I will see through), the main reason for compiling this list is to let people find compatriots more easily.
  10. Thanks Claincy and Awe. This will make it easier to fill out the List. I won't be able to do much more today, but I'll pull a few hours this week-end, and it should rapidly fill up in the coming weeks.
  11. The List was originally intended to track Nationalities, and not (necessarily) current location. I guess I'm already blurring the border, though, as most of the Americans give up their current federal location as opposed to their state of origin. So I shall let it be up to you: do you want to be listed as Chinese or as residing in Australia?
  12. Don't worry, you are not alone. I am also an avid Jasnah/Kaladin shipper. On a completely unrelated note, "shipper" just sounds weird to me. It is pronounced exactly the same as "skipper" in Norwegian, which means sailor (more specifically the captain of a smaller vessel). I cannot help but read "sailor" every time I see the storming word.
  13. Thanks! I didn't think of looking for Threads of the same nature... I shall use this to fill up my List as soon as I've gone through a few more pages of Introductory Posts. And you know me, I do love my Lists. Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 387973120 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 509098288 bytes) in Unknown on line 0
  14. Then I am afraid that you are doomed to forever remain a violator of the Forum-wide rules of conduct.
  15. I think it would be amusing to track how 17th Sharders are scattered around the world. So, I introduce to you, the Master List of Origins! I shall roam the user profiles in search of any reference to your home country. I shall scour the "Introduce yourself!" forum, and If I happen to notice a reference to it in a post of yours, then I shall add it to the List as well. And you are free to stop by this Thread and just tell me (us) where you're from. That would make this whole thing a lot easier. The following compilation is sorted by Planet, Continent, Country. I decided arbitrarily to start with South America and then move clock-wise through the rest. Nations and User-names will be sorted alphabetically. Since some users sometimes change their names permanently, I shall try to include all currently known variants (though sorted by current name). And just to be as maniacally thorough as possible, I shall include links to the User-profiles, Introductory Posts1 and whatever post divulged the nationality of the user2. I might add in States for countries such as the United States. To qualify for the List, you must either: Have at least 30 active Posts and have been active within the last year (exceptions will be made for huge contributors) or just post in this Thread. EDIT: All posters on this Thread have been added. Done with previous Nationality Threads. Will use other information from this Thread to further fill up the List, then I'll move on to the Introduction sub-forum. EDIT 2: Look! A Google map with Pins! Red represents females, Blue males and Green "not telling". If you're not happy with your current position, feel free to make a request to my Listh Apprentice, Quitecontrary, on this Thread. A huge thanks to her for setting it up. Earth South America (current count: 1) North America (current count: 79) Europe (current count: 21) Asia (current count: 10) Oceania (current count: 15) Africa (current count: 2) Antarctica (current count: 1)
  16. A propos age, @Chaos, would it be possible to let us give up just our year of birth, and not just the whole thing? I don't mind giving up my age, but it bothered me for quite a while that I had to give up my exact date of birth to give any indication of my age at all. EDIT: And on a tangential note, it would be amusing to add a "nationality" option to our user profiles. I would be curious to see how Sharders are scattered around the world. Or maybe we could just make a Thread for it? Be right back!
  17. Speaking of hi-jacked Threads, I can't remember where I argued this (I should be able to located it though, if I just get around to it), but I am still convinced that there would have been Sliders, Pulsers, etc. in the Final Empire. They would have snapped (or not) without being any wiser, of course, and they wouldn't have any means of discovering their abilities, but they still should have been around. I am not really a huge fan of Mistborn, but I would like to formally develop this Theory. A related one (for which I've also argued) is that I believe that Sazed's (and to a lesser extent Preservation's) ability to change the magic systems already in place are more limited than the majority of Sharders seem to think. I also have a few more scattered Theories floating around, and I'd love to get around to give them their own Threads. On a tangential note, I think it is great how this project of yours actually puts the Theory-crafting on the forefront (at least for a hand-full of us). While I love the community in general, I do think we have been slacking somewhat lately, focusing more on fun and games than on what drew most of us (I think) to the fora in the first place. EDIT: Just a few thoughts: You should consider adding a green hue for the Proven Theories. Consider dimming the red disproven hue even further. I think you should add a link to this Thread on all of your Index pages, as a lot of the discussion and coordination are done here. It is relevant to the Lists themselves. EDIT 2: By the way, what is the difference between "Best Overall Theorists" and "Most Prolific Theorists" on the Hall of Fame page?
  18. While I can agree in the case of Lift, but Ym's crime was 40 years in the past (or something around that). He has since then (and from the context, it seems he quit his ties immediately after having done the deed) become not only an upstanding member of his community, but a generous and kind old man. Depending on the area and society in question, the Legal apparatus can be primarily retributional, but it is also preventive (id est removing threats from society) and reformative (id est letting people make up for their sins so that they can rejoin society as productive citizens). By the time of his execution, Ym was no threat, he had become a valuable and dependable member of his society, and you could even argue that he had paid for his sins by being torn up by guilt for the last 40-ish years. Executing him for something that was done several decades ago - and for something where his responsibility for the deed was already dubious - goes quite spectacularly against the spirit of the Justice, if not the Spirit of the Law as well. 19. I thought this was just me!!!! I propose that we all embrace the Fatal Error Spren and just leave it there whenever it appears.
  20. I was the stick. And even if that was not even half as clever as the rest, I'm proud of it dammit!
  21. He would if there is some sort of legal way to do it, I think. What he is concerned with (as the Lift Interlude shows) is the letter of the Law, and he does not seem to care at all about its spirit, or the spirit of justice, mercy, etc.. He goes through great lengths to persecute Surgebinders, but always within the boundaries of the Law. EDIT: Ninja'd (somewhat).
  22. I do tend to wonder how you're climbing the Top Rep list so quickly, but then I see comments like this...!
  23. I am impressed with your dedication to this. And the amount of work is staggering! AND, your project is basically a really neat List!! Up-votes galore!
  24. I was never heavily into the Harry Potter fandom. But this intrigues me. Would you mind sharing some of the more ludicrous ideas the fans had?
