  1. How my brain works.
  2. Mistrunner looks up from Legion: Skin Deep to notice there are people. "OH! Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention," she says. "Want some bookies? They're like cookies, but shaped like books. And they taste like characters. See, that one's a Kaladin. It tastes somewhat like feelings of inadequacy mixed with pure awesomeness!" She sinks back into her chair, feeling awkward. "Er, if you want some, they're on that table." Also, potatoes are always welcome in the sanctuary of Awkwardness, as long as they don't interfere with reading too much.
  3. When you help someone move and you find a stick. And you begin this monologue, even though you know no one around you has read Words of Radiance. "GASP! It's a stick! Look! It's a stick! I am a stick. I am a stick. It won't become fire, if that's what your asking... it's a stick. It's definitely a stick, no fire allowed. Nope, it won't become fire." This went on for about ten minutes. My friends are used to this, and basically ignored me throughout.
  4. Is it bad that I know what every single one of these is supposed to be? ...wait. I'm on the Shard. Never mind. What about "The Meme of Ages"?
  5. Oooh thank you.
  6. I need a name for a country. The religion is based on the skies, and rainbows are considered to be messages/gifts from heaven, so colors feature very prominently. If your name isn't a color, it's considered heretical. So the country would have to be in some way a color name, but it couldn't just be one color, because each color has its own attributes and stuff. Anyone have any ideas? I'm terrible with names.
  7. That's really quite unfortunate. I've only died twice today. I count myself lucky. At least I don't have school. Then I would've died many more times. Especially in English. Anyone else really, really into history? Like favorite subject, nerd, fanatic, whatever...?
  8. Welcome to our crazy community! Sanderson books are the best, so it makes sense we'd have the best forums. Explore! Have fun! Which book is your favorite? (Unfair question, I know.)
  9. Twi, are you ever going to compile the Stormmeme Archives? It's just so beautiful...
  10. Mistrunner turns a page, then realizes there is a newcomer in the room. "Oh. Erm. Hi!" she says awkwardly, stumbling to her feet. "Speak ye the Words and... um... bond a spren..." she frowns as she tries to remember the exact wording. (Welcome 6000j!)
  11. Play it safe. Join the Knights Awkward.
  12. If someone yelled "Mistrunner" I'd turn around because it isn't exactly a common name, is it? When your family is considering moving and you think "Well, at least I'll still have Sanderson books and the Shard."
  13. I like Harry Potter, and during elementary school I was obsessed with it. But then I started getting really really picky about continuity and started seeing little things that don't make sense in books, and it ruined a lot of otherwise very good books for me. I wish I didn't have this problem. Harry Potter is still a very good series (though I didn't like the later books nearly as much), and I agree with Kobold. Even though it doesn't have the best magic system, even if there's one too many scenes with Harry yelling at his friends in Deathly Hallows, even though there's a bunch of nitpicky things I can say about it, it's still a good series, because the characters are people you want to learn more about. They're normal people, with normal flaws, mood swings, normal arguments and teenage drama. And yes, Harry has abnormal bravery- but I think it's even more inspiring with Ron and Hermione, because sure, they were brave, but they weren't heroes. They became heroes, though, because that's what situation they were put in. I hope this makes sense. I'm not as good with words as Kobold, but I hope I got something across.
  14. Welcome! Have an introductory upvote. You've come to the best community on the Internet, and I'm serious. Looking forward to seeing you around! Side note- the cookies are spiked. You've read Mistborn. Think Inquisitor spikes.
  15. Good luck with your pug, Twi! If we're talking about Harry Potter, I have to mention one thing my friend came up with. Harry, for his birthday, received a mokeskin pouch. Why didn't he give it to Hermione to put the undetectable extension charm on and stick their very valuable important must not be reached by Death Eaters under any circumstances stuff in it? What I'm trying to say is... Harry can be pretty dumb.
  16. When you pass Sanborn Road, and you try to explain to your baffled family that it's a mixture of Sanderson and Mistborn, which is why you were suddenly saying certain Mistborn quotes, namely "Kill them."
  17. I'm a twinborn. I'm going to go see if I can swallow metals without dying. Nothing bad can come of that, right?

    1. The Honor Spren

      The Honor Spren

Of course not. I mean, I'm apparently a Bloodsealer right now. If you came to my house, you would see stamps in all the door ways. Follow your dreams. (Or in other words, your rep title;)

  18. Congrats Delightful! You deserved it, being so nice around the forums. You invariably makes smile when I read a post where you lift somebody up. Good job being awesome! Voting for Kaymyth again. See reasons posted before.
  19. I'd just like to say thanks to all the awesome people who were nice enough to reply to a post I made when I was feeling whiny and depressed. It's nice to know you guys are there, if not physically. Just a clarification- it wasn't that I just want to do things to be as good as others, it's just that I felt overshadowed. Like everything I did that I was proud of was lame comparatively, even though I know I've done some pretty cool stuff. What I mean is that you're all awesome, as I know I say that a lot but it's because it's true and I so wish I could meet you in real life so I could hug the dickens out of you. You're all amazing. Go out there and be fantastic. And Twi, good luck getting a pug! And Mollie is adorable. (^w^)
  20. What's a CCDT? I'm a little new to these things.
  21. Wow. I've been nominated. I... I don't quite know what to make of this... In any case, thanks, Sarcasm, the one whose name literally means dry wit.
  22. Mist just got captured. So does that mean handcuffs and police van? What sort of stuff happens?
  23. Amazon gift card. Know what that means? Yep. Two Sanderson novellas and Legend: Skin Deep. See you on the other side of the cover. :D

      Mistrunner

Aw man! Autocorrect is the bane of me.

See, there it just tried to correct "bane" to "name" about fifty times... (>.<)

  24. Wow. I wasn't aware of this, as really most of the world was until recently, I suppose. I'm with Delightful- I have an almost weirdly strong mind's eye. It gets a little unfortunate at times, like just now when I bumped into the bookshelf just now in the dark and a half-dozen rather vivid images of it being everything from the tallest duffel bag ever (don't even ask how I got to that conclusion) to a serial killer on the loose. It makes getting to sleep at night rather difficult, to say the least. And it wreaks havoc with my OCD and hand motions. (It's in the Interesting Things About You thread.) What do you think of art, then? Do you only remember what you felt while seeing it? This makes me wonder if anyone in the forums has synthesia, another very interesting condition. People with it can see sounds or hear colors or have similar crossovers of the senses. Nearly all associate colors with letters and words. Of course, this happens to some extent in most people- most associate the letter A with the color red, for example. So you don't visualize where things are, you just... know? What if you think of a list of words? Do you just- like with the windows thing- know what the words are?
  25. Ah, a Reckoners RPG person. That's why I haven't seen you around yet. Well, hello! I'm Mistrunner and I'm crazy. What's your favorite color? Would you be willing to make a Sanderson-related game with those programming skills? We'd all thank you...
