Pretty sure its Shallan. Look at what she did in Kholinar, that's one of the main reasons they even brought her along. She went undercover, gathered information, even pretended to join the other side. You can't be any more of a spy than that.

So whenever Szeth released Nightblood, black veins would start appearing on his arms. But when Lift tried using Regrowth on Szeth with Nightblood released, instead of black veins, it was described as black vines. I know some of you are thinking that veins and vines could be used interchangeably as descriptions but seeing how "vines" was not used to describe Nightblood's corruption before coupled with the fact that Lift used Regrowth and that Cultivationspren (both Lift's and Adolin's) are always described with "vines", I suspect that this description is intentional and that the manifestation of Nightblood's corruption temporarily changed during the application of the Regrowth surge.

See I was always under the impression that Nightblood determined evil based on who it was bonded to. Which is what made it so particularly dangerous, evil is in the eye of the beholder.

Just to clarify, you mean that Vin would hesitate to kill Kel while Kel wouldn't hesitate to kill Vin? If that is the case, I'm going to strongly disagree with you. They would both hesitate. Kel sees Vin as his daughter! Yes, Kel is a sociopath but that is not a black or white thing, it is a spectrum and it definitely does not mean he is heartless. Case in point: He hesitated when the Inquisitor was going to kill Elend, he could have let it happen and used it to his advantage. And Elend is a nobleman but he saved him at his own peril because of Elend's connection to Vin.

We have a WoB for both of them!

Humans pre vs post- Shattering? [Spoilers: AU]
shadowwisp replied to treblkickd's question in Cosmere Q&A
Could be Roshar. The Parshendi are not originally of Cultivation and Odium (but implies that they are now) and we know that the Parshendi predate the humans on Roshar. WoB suggests that Adonalisum (or at least not H/C/O) created the Parshendi. -

The real question is if a Kandra or significantly spiked person can still be controlled with a strong Soother/Rioter when they are wearing an aluminum lined hat. Bands of Mourning Spoilers:

I think the only time I noticed a difference was in Shadows of Self (or maybe it was Alloy of Law). They just left out a paragraph or two on escape details. Not essential but meh. They might have been using a different version of the script for Warbreaker because I remember the ending being slightly different. But I'm not entirely sure if I am remembering a rough draft version or I just made it up in my mind. I haven't noticed any differences in the SA version. Although I really dislike Syl's normal voice. Everything else is fantastic.

[OB] Creative Applications of Regrowth
shadowwisp replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Stormlight Archive
Growth in reverse...like Regrowth? I think Growth accelerates objects in time (vines). I think Regrowth restores objects back to their previous condition (healing). They both can't accelerate, otherwise why give them different names? Plus I believe Regrowth can restore Shardblade cut wounds, which wouldn't be possible if all it did was accelerate the bodies healing via time. -
Not my revolution, saw it on reddit but what if the strata are like wires!? Wires that instead of conducting electricity, conduct Stormlight from the main power core to room to room!

I like this idea better but I honestly thought it was more similar to the endpage picture. Not an exact match but still. "A solitary figure hovering above the ground before a large blue disc, arms stretched to the side as if to embrace it." http://www.17thshard.com/news/brandon-news/oathbringer-uk-tour-dates-oathbringer-endpapers-r343/

He can die after he punches every single living (maybe even shattered) Shard in the Cosmere AND has his rematch with Hoid on an equal or greater terms.

It's probably a combination of Vivenna and Nightblood. I can see Vivenna to Shallan as Vasher is to the male protagonists, a semi mentor. After all, she does know quite bit about denying truth that is staring her right in the face, living multiple roles, possibly changing appearances, and would be quite experienced at this point. Nightblood is almost guaranteed to play a role in Oathbringer. You don't create a Chekhov's gun like Nightblood, make it most powerful object in the Cosmere, refuse to answer any detailed questions about it in WoB except to confirm how overwhelming overpowered it is, indirectly hint that he may grant surges, and not show it off a tiny bit! You can only build up the hype for so long! While it would be amazing to have a Nightblood interlude, all we need is a Szeth POV to see more of Nightblood. And I am calling it now, Nightblood will say something to Szeth that he won't understand/disregard but we will lose our minds over it and speculate for years until the next SA book. If you can't tell, I am especially excited about Nightblood since he was in the original plot of the Stormlight Archives, and that Warbreaker was created to be a backstory for Nightblood. This is more than a simple crossover, like the Mistborn/Elantris characters.

Based on this short "behind the scenes" chapter of Jasnah, it seems that Spren look vastly different in the Cognitive Realm than the Physical. https://www.tor.com/2014/08/06/stormlight-archive-scene-after-words-of-radiance/ Since Lift isn't seeing massive and strange forms of spren, I don't believe that she can see into the cognitive realm. I think Wyndle may be an exception since they are bonded.

Random question. I haven't read the books in a while so this might be a dumb question but why is it that Atium is produced "naturally" on Scadrial but Lerasium is not?

This doesn't give a concrete answer to your question but I liked this WoB (Word of Brandon).

I was under the impression that it was just one spren darting between groups.

You guys remember the weird spren following Eshonai in the WoR described as a yellow comet? I highly suspect that this is the same spren leading Parshmen to Eshonai. Based on the latest chapter, it seems like the yellow spren has reached a level of sentience equivalent to Syl. But the only way for spren (with some exceptions) to reach that level of sentience is a nahel bond. None of the Parshmen seem like a good candidate and I find it hard to believe that a spren found a newly awakened Parshmen and started the bonding process that quickly. Edit: I have trouble finding the cometspren described as yellow but WoR is large book. Either way, I still stand by my theory.

Wasn't the weird spren following Eshonai in the WoR described as a yellow comet? Could this be the same spren leading Parshmen to Eshonai? The spren would have had to bonded someone quite well for her to reach that level of sentience and none of the Parshmen seem like a good candidate.

I didn't come up with this theory but someone suspected that the pain Fabrial is the key. The timing makes sense, and it was mentioned in the same paragraph as the recovered memories. Not to mention that in WoR, we nearly had an entire page dedicated to a drawing of it.

I agree with you OP. I am almost certain that after the spiritual/mind wipe, there was a debate whether or not to kill all the subdued parshmen and it was decided that the lesser of evils would be to use them as slaves. Even then, I'm positive that a huge number of them were killed in anger irregardless of their newly passive nature. Perhaps they had a more humane task originally and were treated with respect but after several generations the horrible monsters that could awaken and kill, were only seen as servants. It makes me queasy to admit this but I don't think the Alethi were in the wrong, pragmatically at least. Except no one knew that they existed. the Parshendi didn't even know that Parshmen existed. We are not even sure why they were exempt and how many of them there were originally. For all we know, the original Parshendi could have been the ones to spearhead the process of subduing their brethren; they would have better insight on the nature of the process than humans.
-
It could just be a gradual process. Nothing says that it has to happen all at once. Plus I don't think he got all of his memory of Evi back yet, just her name and face. Which would support that whatever is going on, it isn't happening all at once.

I suspect that the term Adhesion is a misunderstanding on the Rosharians part (similar to how Scadrians mixed up "weight" for "mass"). Note that the Ars Arcanum says of Adhesion is "The Surge of Pressure and Vacuum." The term "Full Lashing" does not really fit as well since they are not manipulating gravity. Instead I believe that Windrunners are creating areas of absolute vacuum whenever something touches an area infused with a Full Lashing. The Gravity Surge has Basic lashings and it's opposite counterpart: Reverse Lashings. If "Full Lashings" also has an opposite counterpart, what would it be? How about an intense wave of air pressure? That would fit the theme of Windrunners quite nicely don't you think? Note that we have seen several radiants say their oaths, but only Kaladin has created a shockwave, for both his second and third oath.
