  1. I actually have a theory on that. I suspect that when Nightblood drains Investiture, it temporarily gains new abilities based on the source. Stab a Windrunner with Nightblood and the wielder would temporally get Windrunner Surges. Stab a Brute burning pewter, get allomantic strength. By "endowing/gifting" the user, it still maintains that Endowment Intent (in a twisted sort of way since you are stealing it). Something like this would be End-Neutral just like the Endowment magic system. Also explains how Nale expects Szeth to take on multiple Honorblades and win. We don't see this in Warbreaker because Nightblood is only used on investiture poor enemies and even then it can't give the ability of Awakening to Vasher who already has it. On a side note. On the issue of Nightblood "only" having 2000 Breaths. Didn't Vasher say that one of the core rules of Awakening is that the number of breaths is not representative of the strength? You can't say a regular cloak with 100 Breaths is stronger than a cloak shaped like a human body with 50 Breaths. And technically speaking, you don't need 2000 Breaths to create Nightblood, you need at least 22,000 Breaths (or maybe 42,000 Breaths if both Vasher and Shashara worked together) to reach the Nineth Heightening just to awaken steel. I wouldn't be surprised if your Breath efficiency level goes up with each Heightening as well. IIRC Visualization of Commands are the most vital part of Awakening and I'm sure Shashara had some incredibly complex visualization of her Command to increase the efficiency rate as well. From what I can tell, Shashara seems to be a master at efficiency. She was the one who figured out how to create 1 Breath Lifeless after all and since she wanted to mass produce invested metal, efficiency was probably a core goal. I am also very curious to find what/how much color was used to power the awakening of Nightblood. I doubt a simple red cloth was used . Better color, less Breaths? Seems to be the case with Tenth Heightening users with Perfect Invocation, the ability to drain color more efficiently leaving it white instead of grey.
  2. I love graphic novels but I would probably wait until the full series came out. I would hate to read one volume and have to wait until the next one. Even though I know what is going to happen next hahaha
  3. We have a quote from the book implying that immortality is possible with the built in magic system:
  4. Similar to how Seons are analogs to Spren?
  5. unless there is a reason behind the tradition of covering safehands. Similar to why Lighteyes are "superior" due to the influences of the knights.
  6. Use an awakened cloth to rotate a crank on a generator ⇒ clean electricity. Have that electricity to power a heater and use a Brass ferring to store that heat ⇒ pseudo-end positive feruchemy. Still a very specific form of investiture though. Can't think of a way to convert that to any other form investiture.
  7. Using the various magic systems in Brandon Sanderson's books how would you guys create infinite or at least very large amounts of energy and/or investiture? For the sake of fun, let's say that you can't use Compounding since that would be too easy.
  8. makes me wonder what happens if a mistborn attempts to burns duralumin and iron while getting stabbed by an iron dagger.
  9. There is definitely more to Nightblood than what we have seen in Warbreaker. Nale implies that Szeth would be able to take on 8 Honorblades with just Nightblood. A sword that can cut through anything is strong, but without Shardplate I can't see how it could change the tide of any war. Yet apparently that was exactly what happened when Shashara wielded it during the Battle of Twilight Falls. And since Vasher was the one who started the Manywar, he should be accustomed to death and violence but what he saw was apparently too much for even him. 100% sure that we are missing some attribute of Nightblood. On a side note. Anyone else wondering what would happen if Szeth tried to block a Shardblade with just the sheath of Nightblood? I'm assuming any sheath strong enough to contain Nightblood would be strong enough to block a Shardblade by itself.
  10. Well, seeing how all your blood is made from within your bones, maybe it is possible to spike bones.
  11. Urgh, I don't have my book with me otherwise I could pull off the exact quote but I believe Suit said something along the lines of "They are barely human, did he ever tell you what is inside of him...." before being cut off. If they weren't changed genetically, perhaps they were changed spiritually? As in with spikes or something else? I'm not exactly sure what Suits was referring to but I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to the cold intolerance.
  12. Okay, maybe not exactly Wheel of Time but I didn't want to give spoilers in the title. Back in 2012, Brandon Sanderson wrote what he thought would happen if Kelsier and Moiraine were to fight each other. I thought this particular part was a good bit of foreshadowing: Here is the link for the full story if anyone is interested. I highly recommend it, every word is pure gold http://sf-fantasy.suvudu.com/2012/03/cage-match-2012-round-4-moiraine-damodred-versus-kelsier.html
  13. Sazed? Did anyone else think he was kinda off with Kelsier? When Kelsier requested Sazed to heal Spook and maybe make him into a mistborn, he replied "I'll consider it". It just seemed so out of character for him. I expected more of a "Okay, I'll see what I can do; it's the least I can do from one old friend to another. Spook has been through a lot but he grown a lot as well, hasn't he?" Another thing that threw me off was when he lied to Kelsier about coming back to life. He seemed okay with bringing Vin and Elend back to life a few minutes ago. it just seemed like he was talking more to a business partner than an old friend. I can see this happening with Second Era Sazed due to the intent changing influence of both shards but not for First Era Sazed when he is more Sazed than Harmony. Did anyone else think he was acting strangely around Kelsier?
  14. Just got it from Amazon!
  15. Anyone know when the amazon kindle version will be released? I am really hoping for midnight.
  16. Or seeing how Vasher seems to be the archetype "tragic hero", Vivenna could have died even before Vasher got on Roshar.
  17. Not arguing your point but here is source for Edgedancers being eloquent speakers “When Simol was informed of the arrival of the Edgedancers, a concealed consternation and terror, as is common in such cases, fell upon him; although they were not the most demanding of orders, their graceful, limber movements hid a deadliness that was, by this time, quite renowned; also, they were the most articulate and refined of the Radiants. ” —Words of Radiance, chapter 20, page 12 Also here is a quote by "Darkness" about the Edgedancers: “Yes. It is unfortunate they were always so concerned with small-minded things, while ignoring those of greater import. It appears you share their temperament. You have become one of them.” It does kinda sound like Adolin hahaha
  18. This is a bit off topic, but does anyone know what happens to the investiture that Nightblood consumes? Does it add it to the 1000 breaths already in it or does it burn it off similar to someone burning Atium? I always assumed that whenever Vasher drew Nightblood, it added the drained Breaths on top of the initial 1000 but I'm not sure if that is how it actually works.
  19. I remember reading a WoB somewhere that it is possible to burn a hemalurgic spike. This is speculation, but I am assuming that a hemalurgic spike won't be able to poison you. I mean, if 2 metal spikes going through your head has no negative biological effects (minus the blindness) then I would assume it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to be chemically inert. And thanks to the book that Marsh gave her at the end of AoL, the idea wouldn't be completely out of the blue for her. She could spike herself with a small chromium earing or maybe a chromium needle somewhere in her clothes or shoes. Actually, now I am wondering if it needs to a hemalurgic spike at all. A simple chromium needle concealed a bracelet that would pierce the skin and blood if pressed right and then bam instant temporary chromium reserve. Not sure if that would be possible though.
  20. Personally, I think it is much more likely for Wax to side with Autonomy than Marasi. Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist but Brandon Sanderson made it way too easy to like Wax and Steris together as a couple, so I have a feeling something bad is going to happen to Steris. But could you imagine Wax's reaction if Steris were to die somehow due to Harmony's meddling? Autonomy or his representative could very easily manipulative Wax to change sides and have him work to find a way to limit Harmony's power. We already know that Harmony thinks that Wax is special for some reason (his compatibility with the mists and thus Harmony's power?) and I doubt Autonomy would be oblivious to that. On a side note, I doubt Wax would ever get to this point, but I would love to see a "Darth Vader Worldhopper". A protagonist turned antagonist and start worldhopping to counter Hoid's actions.
  21. haha for me it was the other way around. I guessed about megan but not the proffessor
  22. So I just finished the book in one go lol. It was pretty good. It had a definite moviesh feel to it but im not sure if that was a good thing or bad. Anyways so what exactly does saying "Pink Pinkiness" a few times very quickly sound like? I think I have a vague idea but im not actualy sure if Brandon Sanderson would actually put that in this book hahahahah
