Long Game 9: The Empty Throne Part 1: The Barrow Barons
Gamma Fiend replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
After a length of time of not being seen, citing reasons of impossible excuses of "friends visiting" (while they were all locked inside the building together), Friend had finally showed his face once more. It just so happened that his face was covered in Damon's blood and bits of his brain. After a few moments of appearing to be on the edge of tears and incomprehension, he finally managed to get ahold of himself and just gave one long shudder. "That was the worst alarm clock ever!" He said, pointedly. "Now excuse me while I go retch and wash myself off. Somebody better make me some comfort pancakes for when I get back." After discovering he was bunking with a murderer, Friend didn't care so much about making friends, and being so awkward. Finally got some RP in, even if it is only just a little bit. Now that we got one Baron, we can start trying to look for any connections. Despite being a constant roommate with Damon, we weren't ever in any contact. I haven't come up with anything yet though, as I've haven't been making notes. >.< But Jasnah's vote jumping in the early cycles could be looked at to see who they maybe tried steering the lynches away from. Hopefully that'll give us something to go on. -

Sorry, been semi inactive lately, and haven't been able to work up much time to be able to get on and post. It does seem like a shame that there was basically no discussion at all during the Night Cycle. But I can't really complain too much about it, since I didn't post either. >.< But while it is nice to have things worked out and make plans in PMs, which seems to be happening in this game quite a bit, I also would like to advise caution, since there's no actual verification of alignment roles in this game, it's very hard to find anybody to be 100% trustworthy. So the Barons will go whatever means necessary to gain trust in those PMs. Also, as for switching up the plans, I don't think that we should. The whole point of Raid's plan on why it worked was because it just went down the player list, assigning rooms out to be as even as possible. That way, nobody gets preference or bias in what rooms they get. So I think we should keep as closely to that as possible. Also, Araris, I voted for Jain initially, but saw the jump of other votes on him, and retracted mine. -

You mean this vote? That doesn't count because votes can only be placed during the Day Cycles. So you don't currently have a vote tallied towards this lynch. And in that post you only said your vote was a placeholder vote, so you haven't given any other reasoning for your proof of suspicion of Jain. So I will retract my vote on him to at least tie it back up, and prompt more discussion before somebody takes an early lead, leading to a bandwagon. Hopefully will have some time for some RP soon. -

Huh. Well thanks, Barons. While I imagine they knew they had to eventually kill the SK, I don't think he was their priority target, since they probably wouldn't have minded him getting a few extra civilian kills in for them early in the game. So they were probably just taking a random shot at Trial. As to why I wasn't attacked last night myself, I was a little bit surprised, but considering people tend to consider me an at least more "experienced" player -- at least in just terms of these forums -- that does paint me as a higher priority target, but then the Barons must also consider the possibility that somebody was protecting me. (which somebody may or may not have been ) So if I were an Eliminator, I would almost always go after a player who has the lesser chance of being protected. Especially since nobody was really taking charge after Raid, yet. That and probably because I've been way less active these last couple games than I used to be. Now we should definitely continue to follow Raid's plan as closely as possible. We should try and adjust to account for Kelsey sleeping out in the hall, and then the lynchee, if it is a clear target before the end of the cycle. That should be able to put us at 3 people per room, to keep it as tightly knit as possible, and a more narrow suspect range if something happens. But that could open us up to possible Vote Manipulation shenanigans, if the Barons have somebody with that ability, to try and mess up the room orders last minute. For now I will toss a vote on Jain, just to tie him up with Kelsey, an inactive. That would be a nasty trick for a Baron to hide in plain sight like that, but as mentioned above, that would be a very unsportsmanlike move, to use IRL excuses to explain inactivity. And putting a vote on Kelsey would gain us no new knowledge, at the moment. -

So I guess we'll need a confirmation from the GM on if the SK needs to vote or not to be able to make their kill. Depending on that answer, if the Rich Civilian voted or not, that will help us narrow down our suspects. Friend didn't know whether to groan or smile as he laid out his sleeping bag in the hallway and noticed the handful of people doing likewise. Kelsey was of course there as well, and had even managed to find a cot somewhere and was sound asleep despite the noise of everybody settling in. Friend was still feeling a little bit off after being partially responsible for yet another innocent being lynched, and he was starting to doubt himself. Maybe it wasn't that she was suspicious, more likely we just didn't get to know her too well. Being able to see your own death can do pretty wacky things to the psyche. Besides, he didn't quite feel comfortable with 3 other people in the room, so he wanted some alone time in the hallway-- since he was pretty sure Sleepy Kelsey wasn't going to be bothering him none. On the other hand, he thought, trying to be a glass half-full kind of guy, maybe I can make some new friends. " Party in the hallway! Let's have some fun!" He smiled and took a look around, stifling the small voice in the back of his head that added, as long as none of you try and kill me. I actually did kind of forget to send my room orders in. I was trying to find somebody who would have been able to protect me so I could sleep soundly in the hallway, and help drive the number of people in my room down to 3, to help keep the numbers of roommates as tight as possible. But I kind of meant to give the plan up and was going to send the orders for my room in, as part of The Plan, but I did kind of forget to do that before I left for work. >.< But it just looks like The Plan went to crap anyways. XD Let's just hope people with protection/role-blocking roles hit some really good targets tonight! Also, some speculation as to why Raid was the SK target, besides being the "figurehead" of the Plan, and being one of the more active players rallying people, the SK could also have very well used their Role-Seeking ability last night on him, and figured that he was a big enough target being an Arms Dealer. Depending on whether or not the SK actually has to vote to use their abilities, then they got 1 seeking off -- on Raid -- or 2, if they were able to use both last Day and Night Cycle. -

Well it looks like Aya has the narrow lead for the lynch. I might as well toss a vote on her, since I'm not sure how much longer there is in the cycle, but I know I won't be on til morning. Just want to make sure that a lynch actually goes through, and no vote manipulation shenanigans takes place. -

Gamma Fiend replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I understand, and am leaning towards her probably not being a Baron as well, but I was just refering to the fact that if she was one, her teammates don't necessarily "have" to be reigning her in. Especially considering her newer player status, the Eliminators are always trying to break or abuse the metagame anyway they can. This is just my usual, over-paranoid disclaimer that when I see anything but verification style roles claim someone can't be an Eliminator, there's always the suspicion in the back of my mind. But Aya being a SK is also a very likely option, or very well someone just having a lot of fun with the game. XD What about Araris' idea of forcing a tie this cycle? Lynches are usually our best chance at catching an Eliminator, and the way people vote and defend themselves is the main way we are able to determine suspicion. But in this game, it might be a little different, with the room situation, since that radically narrows down the possible suspects when kills happen,. (Which is probably why there are so many kill abilities, come to think of it... >.<) So the Barons might actually end up focusing more on forcing mislynches. That and possibly look for items that destroy rooms, now that they know those exist. O.o -

One quick thing, that I've seen repeated quite a few times that has kind of irked at me. When people are discussing Aya in terms of suspicion and likelihood of being a BB, people like to mention her erratic/inconsistent behaviour, but use that as a reason to discount any actual suspicion for the mere fact that her teammates would be keeping her in check. But the fact that everybody believes that makes me consider the fact the BBs will play off of that. Sparks, they could even be encouraging it! That being said, I am not entirely sure that she is in fact an Eliminator, especially with that sort of reverse logic, but I just wanted to mention that it could be a possibility here. Anything in these games that makes me think, or when I see people say, "So and so can't be an Eliminator because _____", that just makes me automatically a little bit suspicious, since that's where they like to hide. But also, somebody (let's call them X) got in contact with me and said they role-blocked Y last night, who was sharing a room with them. So we have a role-block, and no kill happening last night. This very well could be the cause of the missing kill. But in this game, on Night 1, especially with how the plan was set-up, if a kill was made last night, we almost would have known who did it, by the room assignments. That, and the fact the BBs probably knew Kelsey was protected (or inactive, and not a worry), they could have instead taken the chance to search for Items, to give them an advantage later in the game. Revealing who Y is would of course then narrow down the possibilities of who X is, so I didn't want to reveal them quite yet, just in case they are telling the truth, and not a BB spreading a lie, of course. But I wanted to at least have it mentioned in thread so there can at least be some sort of discussion about it. So, what does everybody think? -

Epic Lord GM, if somebody is targeted for death, but gets saved by some action, will it be revealed in the write-up? Friend randomly wandered the halls, his melancholy unbroken by the joyous news of nobody dying the previous night, nor even the horrible destruction of two of the available rooms. Nobody besides a maniac joined me in the Group Chat last night, he wallowed to himself. Just goes to show how friendless he truly was. He sighed. Admittedly, he had surprised to even wake up in the morning. Considering Damon's open hostility to him, and that Stanley fellow's peculiar interest in corners. Although, the lack of a murder last night was curious. Maybe they went looking for stuff instead, not feeling comfortable enough to avoid detection. But he couldn't be sure. He took a look around the corner, where everybody had gathered once more. Openly flung accusations and suspicious glares were being tossed about once again. Friend gulped. He himself wasn't entirely sure who the hidden Barons could be, exactly, although he did have a feeling that he didn't want to be friends with most of these people. Although something just didn't feel right about that Jain fellow. He couldn't say why, exactly, but it was just a gut reaction. Despite that shady Aya figure staring daggers at him, fingering the blade of her axe, while openly calling for help with killing Damon. While at the front of the room, Raid was standing up on a pedastool and shouting directions down unto everybody. He had taken it upon himself once again to assign and divvy up the remaining rooms for sleeping arrangements. Friend frowned. Sure, he seems nice enough, despite having to check for your wallet and phone after he leaves, but it seems like people have fallen neatly in line with what he's been proposing. I'll have to keep my eye on that one. Edit: Redacted Vote -

Looks like a rather silent night. >.< While we are trapped in our rooms, and have the option of PMing with our roommates, that doesn't mean we can't discuss things in here. (I even tried coming up with a creative outlet for RP to work during the Night Cycle! ) There was still a flurry of voting activity towards the end of the last cycle that was quite confusing, if not a little bit suspicious. We should probably try and discuss some of that, or at least keep some heat on some suspects, or something. Let's not waste a night cycle. Also, there isn't any voting during Night Cycles. -

Username: Gamma Friend #HQChannel Time of post: 07:53 Newcago Time Calamity, guys. What a mess. If it's any consolation, I wouldn't have felt comfortable sharing a room with Loipin, myself. Not that my roommates [REDACTED] Good thing the Nighthawk Foundry is still up and running, so we can all actually still communicate openly. One thing real quick. Aya posted earlier, she said she knew that Loipin wasn't a BB. And really, there's only one way to positively know somebody's allegiance on the first cycle. Either way, I guess I'll try and get some sleep, despite [REDACTED]. Hopefully I see you all in the morning! Gamma Friend logged out. Heh. RP-wise, we are all locked in our rooms. We need some way to be able to communicate back and forth. And what better way than using the Nighthawk Foundry Chat system! XD -

I was actually just typing up a post about as to why we shouldn't probably focus on inactives for the moment, and I am concerned at how the votes just jumped on Kelsey that quickly. Inactives in this game will just end up in the Hallway, since if they don't get on to post, then they probably won't be sending orders in. And if somebody who appears to be inactive in this game ends up in a room with one of us, we'll know they're paying attention, and just not posting. That's when we can start throwing votes on people who appear inactive, but really aren't. But with the current plan of us going to the pre-determined rooms, the BBs are going to have a harder time avoiding detection. So their prime targets to get free kills will be those in the Hallway, since they can't be tracked down to a room, I'd imagine. No need for us to make the Eliminators' job easier than it is. Let us vote for people actually warranting suspicion, or generally obstructive towards a Villager Win, not somebody who just hasn't been on the site for a day or so. -

Okay, not really helping strengthen your argument. As you just also voted near the end of the cycle. Doesn't that mean you're suspicious as well? Also, according to my tally, my vote put Loipin in the lead with 3 votes, and Raid and Myself at 2 each. Now it's a 3/3 thanks to your vote. Which could just be you protecting Loipin, or just being erratic and unhelpful. -

Friend was standing off by himself in his usual awkward manner, fidgeting with his silver pendant and humming his old favorite song to himself. A nice, funky dance tune. He finished humming the breakdown and whispered the most well known part of the song under his breath. "Stop. Hammertime." He had been taking a look around the room he was supposed to be staying in tonight, the Officer's Lounge, and hoped it would have been one of the nicer and more lavish places in the building, but his hopes had been dashed. It was a plain, fastidiously kept room. Well organized and boring. Friend was almost kind of relieved. He understood boring. He snapped his head up after hearing his name, distracted from his song and quiet observation. One of his own supposed room mates had just announced his name as one of their top suspects. This will make for an interesting evening, he thought wryly. He did a quick mental calculation of the accusations that had been thrown around and gulped. That put him at a three way tie, if he was correct. He thought back the macabre conversations of decapitations he had had with that charming lady earlier, and nervously rubbed his neck. "Well, you see, I'm not quite sure what's going to happen to one of us, but I am rather quite attached to my neck. Or, er, my head is, at least. And I'd rather keep it that way." He pointed over at Loipin. "What about that guy? He's just been jumping around, trying to kill somebody already, and hasn't been to helpful towards discussion so far." The man took the moment to speak up, crying out and declaring that nobody should follow any sort of coordinated plan, and every man should fend for themselves. Friend stood there speechless and exasperated, just waving his hand, slightly bewildered. He sighed. This is what I get for trying to make new friends. So, my vote for Steel isn't just RP. It's fine to use RP to make your votes and arguments, nor do you have to rely on RP to do as such. It is a lot easier to explain things in OOC Blue. My vote for Loipin is for 1) obviously to break the tie that I am up for. I'd rather not be at risk of lynching. And 2) Loipin does seem like a decent suspect so far, and if not an Eliminator or a threat, then hopefully a vote on them will help them start posting more helpfully. Explain the reasons behind your votes. If you don't like any plan, feel free to express such via RP, but explain why. Do you not like a plan being executed that just one person came up with and everybody then just agreed to? Do you feel like there's a better plan? Stuff like that, active discussion, which helps the Villagers by making it harder for the Eliminators from hiding or being unhelpful. -

"Did any of you not see or hear the rampage of Jak O'Lantern last night?" Friend asked, looking around bewildered. "He was tossing candy bombs the whole sparking time, a guy couldn't get any sleep!" Friend looked exhausted, needing a good night's rest. For a guy who was lonely, he kept mumbling something about family plans, even though everybody was clearly stuck in that building together and not going anywhere. The raging battle of Epics outside wasn't only what kept Friend up all night though. Friendless and surrounded by strangers, he knew he wasn't going to be able to trust anybody and would have to rely on his wits and skills he had acquired over the years to survive this endeavor. This whole ordeal is one nasty trick, he thought miserably. Nearby, a group of people had started discussing plans, asking everybody to comply with what had been agreed upon by them. Friend didn't think he'd be able to disagree with them. There was The Implication. Friend did have to admit the idea didn't sound completely horrible. He took a peak once again at the bloody writing scrawled above the mangled corpse. He shivered. "Is anybody going to clean this body up? I'd imagine maybe 3 or 4 of you are responsible for this, the least you could do is clean up after yourselves." Friend glared suspiciously around the room. "With us being able to lock the doors at night, I imagine the killers will hopefully spread out to maximize their effectiveness, although we can't always rely on that. But it might give us something." Friend too a big breath and was about to go on talking about how the talk of people being able to pick their own rooms would just allow the Barons to get their own way when he realized everybody was looking at him. He froze, completely startled, and let out a squeak. "I, um, mean,...." he kind of trailed off and tried to melt back into the crowd. He took a look around the strange group of people he was stuck with, noticing somebody jumping up and down, holding some sort of toy animal. "Um.... Jain, is it? Anything else to add besides, 'Yay, I'm Innocent?'" Sorry for the delayed activity this game. Had family doings last night. And this RP took me quite a while to check in with, since I'm also going to be trying to stick to RP this game instead of relying on OOC Blue. Edit: Redacted Vote. -
Mid-Range Game 3: When Chalklings Attack
Gamma Fiend replied to Sart's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I'd like to say a definite job well done to the Forgotten in this round! It was a good thing you killed Dig when you did. There was no way he could have kept up the number of holes for graves needed! My actions this game were rather selfish, as I Did a Line of Forbiddance Cyles 1 and 3, and Lines of Warding 2 and 4. (Then you know, death.) It is a shame that I jokingly placed a vote on Kas, when he actually was trying to distract and mislead us with numbers, I suspect. Although with the Sentry, 4 Eliminators was a good number, I think. Although the game did go rather fast, so maybe a couple more villagers would have been a better buffer for our mislynches. As for the Camp Defense aspect, I kind of liked that. It was new and interesting. It did help promote a bit more discussion, as to making plans to help make sure we were protected that way, and I definitely can't wait to see how that mechanic can evolve and be used in future games! A big thanks (and many upvotes) to our Mighty GM on running a fantastic game! It was very fun and you did a great job! ......Underneath the dry Nebraskan sky, with the hot, arid sun at high noon on a cloudless day, all was quiet on the Chalkling front. A daring ambush, turned into a lethal trap, turned into a massacre had left the bodies of an entire unit of dead Rithmatist's littered across the plains, behind enemy lines. One of these bodies was buried in an unmarked grave. A small, shallow hole, to be exact. Deep down under arid soil, a worm was making it's work through the dirt and sliding over a rotting, eyeless body. The worm had worked long and hard to reach this prize, and it was content. A lot of good could always come from a little bit of digging. The worm did whatever passes for a smile for a worm, and it went back to it's feast. Dig a hole, dig a hole.- 213 replies

Long Game 9: The Empty Throne Part 1: The Barrow Barons
Gamma Fiend replied to Alvron's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Friend was almost too surprised to speak. Somebody had actually addressed him and talked to him! He almost began to nervously fidget, unsure of what do to, when he heard the last thing the stranger who introduced herself as Kenna had said. ".....If you want death, I know a guy. Much more effective...." He paused. Did she just offer to put him in contact with a guy who would kill him?! He opened his mouth to speak. "I, uhmm.... uh --" he closed his mouth and frowned for a second. "Er, no thanks." He finally managed, unsure of what else to say before slowly backing away. The worst part of it? This Kenna person actually looked like one of the more friendly people that had gathered. Even if her sense of humour was a little macabre. Hopefully that was just a sense of humour, he hold himself. "Slontze, I'm being a fool." He whispered aloud. But it was drown out over the noise and sounds of the skirmish going on in the small courtyard between a few of those gathered. I really don't understand why that person keeps going on about this "cashmere". It's just a fancy type of cloth. And they not even pronouncing it right. The collapse of Steelheart's regime had sure brought out all of the crazies in Newcago. Friend frowned and was unsure of how he got lumped in with that group. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, he thought, looking around. They seem like nice enough people, if I give them a chance. Maybe that knife-girl -- who actually has an axe now -- won't even cut me. He smiled at the prospect. It was all about staying positive and being friendly. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all. -

Friend sat off by himself, trying to avoid as much attention as possible and nervously biting his nails. After his failed introduction of himself, he was met with hostile stares and greeted by someone who was a little too zealous with gesturing with the giant knife they wielded. But that person did do the same to everybody who had walked up, so Friend felt a little better. Everybody who had gathered seemed to be extremely shady and secretive. Not very friendly at all. He thought, with a frown. Somebody suddenly shouted out to a couple of people who were walking nearby, trying to slink past undetected. The pair briefly stopped to acknowledge the invitation to join in the looting of the HQ Building -- funny how looters are waiting patiently to storm a building, Friend thought, but then he took a good look at the two men who shook their heads and kept on walking by. "Sparks, I think I know those people!" Friend suddenly shouted, standing up, and pointing at the retreating figures. They were his pals he had lost in the confusion in the wake of Steelheart's death. They had to have seen me, he thought, lowering his arm slowly, realizing they weren't there anymore. I obviously need new friends, he told himself. He sat back down and went back to waiting along with everybody else, wondering who he could become friends with. If he wanted to become friends with any of them. "So.... how about that sun," Friend started off saying, hoping to prompt some sort of amiable conversation with those who were still gathered around. Hopefully one without knives, would be preferable. -

We have a list set-up for those who have signed up to GM a game, and we have it divided between the three types of games we run (Long Games, Mid-Range, and Quick Fixes), and it's set-up so one game is usually starting up around the time one is ending. If you wish to sign up to GM any of these games, feel free to let Meta, Wilson, or myself know and we will get you on the appropriate list! Or message us with any other questions you may have! -

Friend smiled calmly as everybody took turns saying who they were. They were all stuck here together, so they might as well all be properly introduced. Even if Friend wasn't feeling so friendly in all of the madness. "The name is Friend," he said, stepping forward with a slight bow. He was nervously fidgeting with a small, silver pendant in the shape of a 'S' on a chain. "I got stuck here the same way most of us did, I reckon. Fled with some buddies to find refuge here when the chaos started." His smile faltered for a second. "I lost track of them in all of the confusion. Maybe I'm not such a good friend after all...." He trailed off and just stepped back in line before taking a nervous glance around the room. He knew that some of the people here couldn't be trusted, and there would be those who were hiding secrets. But a guy still needed friends, right? -

Yeah, I've been on and checking, but I did mention in my sign-up, I do have way less time to be constantly active. annnnnd I am about to be late-fall camping for a day or two, over the weekend, so I will be way-afk. Hopefully my inactivity doesn't get me killed while I am gone, but if so, I would completely understand. One quick thing, Joe, I don't think I ever actually agreed to that there list of who is doing what. Nor do I think everybody else did. That was why I proposed my plan, so the Forgotten can't exactly know who is defended or not. Or at least that's how I'm going to be playing it, honestly. Also, now that we know that we've had enough people doing the LoW alternating, some (as in only a couple at a time, somehow), people can start hunting for Forgotten with the Role-block Line Action (can't remember the name at the moment). Now that the Forgotten are still down 1, and we still have a decent advantage over 2 or 3 of them, the risk Chalkling kills is less severe if the role-blocks mishit. But on the other hand, when somebody does prevent a kill, the person can even immediately come forward with the results, because they'll be able to protect themselves with the Line of Forbiddance the cycle they come forward.- 213 replies

Mid-Range Game 3: When Chalklings Attack
Gamma Fiend replied to Sart's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Dig had just finished the two graves for Matt and his silent companion who had attached themselves to the doomed man. He was sweating furiously underneath the hot Nebrask sun, exhausted from the tedious work. He took a moment to lament the fallen. The Matt fellow had seemed a bit extreme, but the other one, the Artist, -- Dig frowned and furrowed his brow, blanking on the man's name -- had seemed to have his own sort of sad story. And now it was forever untold, buried beneath the arid Nebraskan soil. The sun was starting to slowly set in the sky, reminding Dig of the next grizzly task at hand. There was still to be another decision to be reached. The group needed to continue their hunt against the Forgotten hiding amongst them. Secrets that were buried deep under the weight of lies and subterfuge. If there was one thing Dig liked, it was digging to the bottom of things. It was like a hole. A meta-physical hole. He smiled. "Dig a hole, dig a hole." For the first time all day, the words finally brought him joy. Well, it looks like we're stuck at a tie between Jain and Chase with only an hour or two left to go, I think. I'm not exactly sure which of them warrants more suspicion, still, and definitely don't want to be the one to be the tie-breaker off of no real suspicions so far. And changing my vote onto somebody else would just bring it to a three way tie at this point, and that would accomplish absolutely nothing. I unfortunately haven't had much time for too much analysis of the posts and votes either. I have a slight gut feeling about Joe for the moment, but as mentioned above, a vote on him wouldn't accomplish much right now. So it looks like nobody has objected to the idea of just having those who didn't LoW last night do it tonight, which while may be over-spending our Action Uses on defense, it's the best bet for now until we can get how many we need narrowed down, exactly. We just need to make sure we didn't have too many people do that last night, and have enough to alternate every cycle first.- 213 replies

Mid-Range Game 3: When Chalklings Attack

Dig was disturbed. He set about his usual task, shovel in hand, feet kicking down on the spade to bite into the earth, the rough calluses on his hand rubbing against smooth wooden handle, and the crunch, swish, and thud of dirt being picked up, whisked into the air, and landing back on the ground in a pile some couple feet away. The motions were all the same, but it was completely different. He wasn't digging a hole. He was digging a grave. He had never even conceived of the notion that his skills would be used for such a macabre task. Holes were fun and mysterious, you never knew what you could come across while digging a hole. Graves were the exact opposite. You knew exactly what was going to be at the bottom of the hole when you were finished. He paused and shuddered. Dig still couldn't believe that the group had lucked out and found one of the forgotten on the very first day. He still didn't know what to make of anybody else, he was just having a hard enough time keeping up with all of the hasty plans and decisions being suggested and tossed around. Dig had always been a simple man. He only cared about digging holes. Graves were not the same. "Dig a hole, dig a hole." He said the same phrase, the same exact way, trying to find some sort of joy or comfort with the familiarity of the mantra, but the words just left a bitter taste in his mouth. OOC: Well that was good news with Dui being one of the forgotten having to drop out on Day 1. While I could understand the votes on him just to get rid of an inactive and all that, but it looks like everybody is already taking a look at the people who bandwagoned on Dui to ensure the lynch. As it's been pointed out, it is a usual trick Eliminators do to 'verify' themselves early on. I still am unsure at how to best coordinate the Lines of Warding, trying to keep the Defenders as anonymous as possible. And maybe it can now just be as simple as this: We know that however many people made Lines last Cycle, it was obviously enough. And now that we got rid of at least one Eliminator, it will be even easier. So if you didn't make a Line of Warding last night, make one tonight. If too many people made them last night, we'll know if a Chalkling attack goes through tonight, and can adjust accordingly. And from there we can start trying to narrow down the numbers of what we actually need, and having the extra people go hunting with role-blocks and trackings. Edit: Ooops. Kinda forgot to talk about voting. O.o I'm still actually unsure, with actual suspicions. So for now, I'll throw a token vote at Kas, because I don't like maths. Lists were the original form of 'misdirection', and it eventually moved onto statistics and now maths.- 213 replies

Mid-Range Game 3: When Chalklings Attack
Gamma Fiend replied to Sart's topic in Sanderson Elimination
As far as voting, I didn't place a vote earlier because as usual, going on Day One there isn't usually much to go on as far as actual suspicions. And the people so far who haven't been talking already have votes placed against them. And there'd be no point in just throwing a name out there, possibly either forcing a tie or causing a lynch. And as for the Sentry, with 15 people, there is a chance we might have it. It depends on the number of Forgotten. 4 is a good estimate to work off of to guess how many we have. But also considering the Forgotten can get up to 2 kills a night, with the wild chalkings, 3 forgotten could make sense also. Because as more Rithmatsts get killed, the less that other ones will be able to use their actions, which will put as even more of a handicap. So 3 is a good possibility, I think. But if we do have 4 Forgotten, then I'm pretty sure we would have a Sentry to help balance the Lines of Warding out. With no PMs, making any sort of plans will be rather difficult, and, as I always warn, the more specific and open we make our plans, the easier it becomes for the Forgotten to circumvent what we're trying to do. With trying to coordinate on how to plan out the use of Rithmatists using Lines of Warding, it will be tricky, definitely. I actually have no actual ideas on how we can most effectively set that up. :/ But of course, the less individuals get singled out on what they can do/will be doing, the better overall, for their safety. Edit: Added RP Dig sat up and glared furiously at Ronald, rubbing the back of his head that he had bumped into the ground when the short man had tied him up, gagged him, and unceremoniously dumped him down in the middle of the bickering group. A subtle way to tell him to participate in the conversation. The foolish dwarf berated him and accused him of suspicion of digging holes, not even realizing that he had dumped Dig right next to a hole. Fire pits were always dug out, here on the Nebrask Isles where the winds and storms could grow fierce. Dig shook his head. Ronald hadn't even left his attention on Dig as he untied himself, instead going off and finding some other person to accuse of being a Forgotten, so Dig found his anger fading as he got to his feet and brushed himself off. He looked around at everybody else, and could tell some people were waiting for who he was going to name. He took a big breath. As he opened his mouth everybody seemed to lean in, their attention all on him. "Dig a hole?" He asked, inviting them to join in his crusade. Unfortunately, none of them understood. Some even called him a fool, so Dig just adopted his usual grin and jaunty gait, and strode off. "Dig a hole, dig a hole." His mantra faded as he walked away. Going to go do what he did best.- 213 replies

Mid-Range Game 3: When Chalklings Attack

The wet, soggy soil, as soft as mud and saturated from the ferocious storm, was perfect for digging. It offered up almost no resistance as Dig drove his shovel down into the earth. The sound of the spade scraping across the damp, gritty sediment was satisfying music to his ears. When the command had come through the small group to 'hunker down and dig in for defenses', this is what Dig assumed. Some form of digging. He snapped out of his mantra and perked his head up as he heard somebody call out his name, using the reason of his digging of being suspicious. Dig nearly had a moment of panic. Does he know? There's no way -- he cut off. Oh yeah. Trapped behind enemy lines, murderers, traitors and Forgotten most likely hiding in their ranks. That 's what the accusation was for. Of course nobody here could know about his secret plan for trying to dig a hole through the center earth and to the other side. He had always wondered what would be down there. He of course had been too busy digging holes to have paid too much attention to everybody around him, but he knew before the end of the night he would have to check in with something. But until then, he would continue to do what he did best. "Dig a hole, dig a hole." He smiled. He once heard that somewhere there was a mythical place called Camp Green Lake, where people were allowed to dig holes all day long. How wonderful that would be! OOC: Well nice to see the game getting off to a nice start! I'll be back on later to get a vote and discussion of in-thread activity so far, but right now I just have a few questions, I think. What does 'The Stack' look like for this game? What are the Order of Actions? How would multiple Lines of Vigor work? Say player A hits player B with a Line of Vigor, but Player C hits players A with a Line of Vigor also. Who all gets their actions cancelled? Does the Non-Rithmatist chose what Advanced Rithmatics skill their target gets, or does that person get both? What happens if they target a non-Rithmatist to teach? Is this game 'Role-Madness'? Where we can assume everybody has roles? Or would that be a PAFO? (Play and Find Out) Also, a completely out-of-game question. Thinking about it, with lines of warding being able to be drawn and everything, and on a flat surface..... Just how awesome would a Rithmatist Tower Defense Game be? O.o- 213 replies
