  1. I think the reason for why he’s jumping so much makes sense. He’s basically putting pressure on each person, once they give reasons for the activity he was suspicious of he’s moving on to the next person. In the last game (at least from what I remember) he wasn’t really giving reasons for it, but he does seem to be now. So I guess, no, I don’t think it is? At least not any more than the other things he’s been doing. These make sense to me. Aligns pretty well with my own reads atm. Out of those the one I’m most suspicious of right now is Wahr. He’s being very inconsistent and weirdly defensive. Going for a mask says nothing about your alignment. Both sides are definitely going for masks. That was a big thing we talked about D1 (village has a higher chance of getting masks since there are more of us and we should try to keep them away from the elims as much as possible). Also, dead players start with enough to buy a red mask loop 2. So it doesn’t really matter if you die or not, you can still get those.
  2. Okay I know this was a while ago but I do want to respond. Yeah I wanted to make the vote count as a way of seeing where everyone is at partially to help me figure out where to vote. There’s a couple people I’d maybe be willing to vote on, it would be mainly those I didn’t mention in the earlier post since those are more neutral leaning, and I just can’t figure them out. But that’s also a lot of people, and I really don’t have anyone leaning elim yet. But that would probably be the pool. So this is in fact what I’m taking about, this is not helpful in the slightest. This tells me nothing. This is why you’re on my “I can’t figure them out” list. But I’m sure you know that. Honestly upon reading through what’s happened while I was asleep I’m rather inclined to change my read on Wahr, some of the moves he’s making here are pretty weird. Why do you keep asserting stuff and then backing off immediately? And why are you so threatened by getting a vote, one vote is not a huge deal (admittedly three is but that’s beside the point), unless you’re an elim who doesn’t want to be voted off this loop. Death isn’t permanent in this game so it shouldn’t be an issue. Also, hi Stick, welcome to the game!
  3. Ah that’s fun. Okay then. ———————— “I’m not sure. I tried to collect as many as possible, but there may be others who need our help. But there may be others fighting as well, I can’t see through this horde. We should try to move. Gather the group and get somewhere else, somewhere we can defend better or at least closer to our destination. I don’t like being out in the open like this.” She looks back, at the people they are protecting, trying to calculate if they could all make it. They probably can’t. But she will try anyway. (RP accurate reason for somebody to get exed, anyone?)
  4. So I was gonna post this like 2 hours ago and then my iPad died midway through writing it oops- Okay so we’re about halfway through the day and it seems like votes are kinda all over the place rn so I figured I could do a quick vote count: Wonko (3): Mistfallen, Araris, Divergent Archer (3): Wonko, Coder, Hoid Ashbringer (1): Wahr2 Araris (1): Archer4 Okay, so it’s a little less all over the place than I thought, actually. Looks like Archer and Wonko are (predictably) in the lead, and most of the people voting them seem to be voting them more out of sus than out of “good in dead doc” which aligns with the strategy we talked about earlier for this loop of trying for an actual elim d2 and seeing what happens to determine d3. K, that was the old post everything after this is new. I’m a little confused what Mistfallen and Archer are talking about, but I’m going to assume they’re not meaning for other people to know. Is that accurate? Or am I just missing something? I’m curious why you voted Araris here? I’m having a very similar situation. I’m getting mostly village and some sort of neutral reads from everyone. My strongest village reads right now would probably be Mistfallen, Divergent, maybe Wahr, maybe Wonko. Archer I’m a bit more on the fence about but still leaning village. Most of the others I’m either neutral on or struggling to tell since they’ve been fairly inactive. That inactive category is currently including TUO, TJ, Honor’s Ghost, and kind of Hael (yeah I know you just posted but still). Also kinda of Hoid since while they have been posting a little none of it has been particularly informative. ———————— Amora sees Kieran enter the clearing, spear in hand, and calls out “Come over here and help us! We’re trying to form a defensive perimeter!” She continues slashing at the creatures, keeping them away from the helpless people behind her and guarding Squircle’s blind spots. But there are so many, and for each body that piles up two more appear. She glances frantically around for anyone else who may be able to help, or for more sheltered place they could flee to.
  5. Liking RP more is fair, I think the complaint against you was more that you hadn’t posted much at all, rp or analysis
  6. I don’t think they’re saying someone could buy it now, someone could have bought it night 1 if they got enough activity.
  7. This is kind of what I’ve been thinking too. I do think a trust circle makes sense, it would be great to have some people (especially more advanced players) who can all freely share information and reads and whatever, as well as strategizing with no risk of the elims catching onto that strategy and somehow thwarting it using that information. The main problem I see with this (which you just pointed out) is that those players won’t know until next loop if they can all be trusted, and with the way pms work there’s not really a good way to continue communicating unless they’re all in the dead doc again. We have been discussing a code but even if a decent code could be developed, we again wouldn’t know if the players who know it can be trusted until the next loop. They could develop a code and then find out there’s an elim who knows it, which would just ruin the whole purpose. The captains hat is another interesting point there, I think we have to assume the dead doc is never secure. I’m not sure how many people had enough to potentially buy it, I’m not quite done with my rupee tallies since I’ve been busy all day but I’ll get back to you on that soon if anyone thinks that may be useful information. I don’t think many people got to 20 in time, but I could be wrong. Some of those people could also have bought blues and therefore didn’t actually have the funds for a red. Okay so that was a lot of analyzing about the dead doc (and some repetition of what others have been saying, it just helps my brain to see it all in one place and hopefully that’s helpful for others too). Sorry about that, I have a tendency toward over analysis of very small things. I guess that’s probably a good thing for this game though. So. My thoughts on current strategy. I feel like we should be trying to exe an elim at least for this day. Depending on how they react to whoever we exe, we can decide what to do for D3 but I don’t think we should be counting on the dead doc as a safe place to discuss strategy or a place to put our best players so they can be cleared, because ultimately we don’t know if they will be cleared or not, and won’t until next loop. So my vote for today at least is to actually try to get an elim out. Which I think most people seem to be agreeing on? Just wanted to put my opinion on the matter out there. Sorry I’m a little late to this particular train, like I said earlier I’ve been pretty busy today. Thats actually a pretty interesting angle. You’re saying we shouldn’t be looking for complete lack of participation but instead people who have been doing the bare minimum in terms of participation? I do agree it’s a bit odd that Ashbringer both has barely said anything but also hasn’t offered any justification for why. At least the other two have said they’re busy and will try to catch up soon. (Or at least TJ has. I feel like Honor has too but I might be imagining that) That would be pretty annoying. Anyways hopefully what I said above is sort of what you were thinking? ————————— As hostile creatures begin pouring out of the canopy above, Amora unsheathes the sword she grabbed off a dead Clock Ward back in the town (this totally happened, I’m not just making it up for plot purposes right now, nooo) and moves to defend the small group she has found herself with, making sure the injured man, the Deku child, and the others who looked too injured or too in shock to fight are safely in the middle. “We need to form a line!” She calls out to the others who look like they may be able to fight. “Defend the ones who can’t fight, make sure nothing gets through to them!” With that, she steps boldly outward, slashing at an approaching Peahat and taking up a position next to Squircle, defending him from the side and trusting him to protect her as well. She hasn’t fought like this in years, but in the heat of combat muscle memory comes rushing back. She knows how to hold a line. So hold it she shall.
  8. Hm okay a couple things. First, you’re definitely right about our votes putting pressure on them. And we may want to be on the lookout for a potential panic kill later on. Rupee accumulation does seem like a good thing to track. I might also start trying to do a bit of that, although it will likely get more difficult when more masks come into play—we don’t know who has bought what, only who can potentially buy what, and we only know starting funds for this loop and resurrected players. It’s probably going to get very complex very quickly but is probably worth it. However, I’m not sure you’re right on the “trying to get rupees is an elim move” part. I feel like masks are going to be very useful for both sides so I think people on both sides are going to be trying to get them. Sending pms also costs rupees so that’s another reason people might want a lot. Yes, the elims are probably going for maximum rupees but I’m sure some villagers are too. The RP inclination makes sense. This game is also very RP focused so a lot of people have been doing quite a bit of it. But, there may be something to read in to there, I’m just not sure there’s enough of a pattern yet. Then again this is the first exe so there isn’t really any pattern or information yet, is there? It’s kinda just based on vibes. As for your thoughts on Wahr, I had forgotten they were the one who first brought up the no NK idea. That does seem a little odd, although their only other game was one where there wasn’t a NK a couple times so maybe not that weird. I was going to say I remember them not being online at this time—I’m pretty sure it’s the middle of the night for them right now, so you may want to bring their attention back to this when they are back so they can respond. They have been posting more often but that could also just be them trying to get rupees or simply having more time. They don’t have enough of a “normal” for us to know. But you have brought up some good points here and I do agree they’re a bit suspect. ————————— “I guess you’re probably right. I just don’t like the idea of someone bad lurking among us and pretending nothing is wrong.”
  9. “For an attack of that scale? It can’t just be one person, surely. Which means…there must be more. Maybe we could hope some of them died in the explosion? But they’re probably too careful for that, aren’t they. Wait.” She finally registers his second sentence. “Among us? You think they’re here? Pretending to be civilians?” She glances around, at the survivors, many of whom she had interacted with before, some who had become her friends. “You really think someone here could be capable of that? Of doing something so horrible and then just…pretending to be one of us? To care?”
  10. Okay so I guess the skipped kill means they’re probably trying to win the loop and just keep the number of cleared players down. That’s definitely an interesting choice—and not the one most people seemed to think they’d make yesterday. Wonko, I think the main problem people are having with your posts isn’t that you’re publicizing information in the first place, but with what you’re saying. If you’re not an elim, you’re basically coming up with strategies for them and then putting it in the thread. But I still think it would be a weird choice to be making those posts if you are an elim, so for that reason I’m going to hold back on voting you (at least for now). As for Archer, I am more suspicious of him out those those two, and I agree that it may be more beneficial to have him in the dead doc IF (and that’s a big if) the elims do win and therefore dead players are cleared. But I also think it’s weird that he wanted to be voted out, and I’d like to know more about why before voting him. Banger rp right there, I applaud you. ————————————————— Amora looks around at the crowd of people, all of them displaced, most covered in soot, many clutching the few meager possessions they were able to grab on the way out. She searches for those she had saved back in the square and finds that first boy, held in the arms of his parents, and smiles. One good thing, at least. She had done one good thing. ”I’m…not sure,” she says, turning toward Squircle as they ask their question. “I was in the square, there was a person in a strange mask. They said something about dreams? And then the explosions happened. I-I tried to save people but so many didn’t make it. So many gone… Anyway, I heard that commander say something about heading for Woodfall? I don’t know where that is, nearby I guess, but we should probably head there. Find safety, hopefully. Food, shelter, all those sorts of things. Oh, but what if there’s another attack? We’ll be so vulnerable on the road, but there’s no helping it, is there?” She trails off, realizing she might be overwhelming her new companion with her anxious rambling.
  11. Amora gasps out a quick “thank you” and eats the banana before rushing off toward the next person. Upon hearing the rallying cry to South Gate, she returns to the shop where those she has saved are hunkered down. “Head to the South Gate, it should be safer there. Be careful, stay together. I’ll join you soon.” With that she dashes toward the flower shop. When she reaches it she bursts inside, saying “The Commander told everyone to evacuate to the South Gate, we have to go now!” Oh don’t worry I got you Amora reaches for Thistle’s bag, helping them collect the last of their things, then grabs their hand, pulling them toward the door. “I know leaving home is scary, okay, but you’ll be back. I promise. It’s going to be okay, but right now we just have to go.”
  12. When the explosions go off, Amora’s first instinct is to run. She stumbles away from the blast and the crowd, knowing it could be dangerous if people start a stampede. She scans the square, searching for an unblocked street opening to get away. As she does, her eyes fall upon a child, lying on the ground, his foot stuck in a gap in the cobblestones. And behind him, people, panicking, running away, the child in their path. She rushes to him, freeing his foot and pulling him away from the stampede, then depositing him in the relative safety of a nearby shop. For a moment, she panics, wondering why she would do something like that. She’s no hero, after all. But doing something good felt…good. So she takes a deep breath, steeling herself, and looks out into the square for more people in danger. She spots another, curled on the ground as people run all around them. She rushes in, dragging the person out of danger. She spots another, and another, each time a person who has fallen behind or to the ground in the chaos, terrified people stampeding all around them, and each time rushes in to pull them away from the danger. It feels good. Finally doing something instead of just watching and fleeing with the rest. Not like the last time. This time, maybe she could be a hero. —————————————————— Yall I did not come up with an actual character before this but uh I guess we’re just making up some random lore bits on the spot now, yippee! Anyway here’s some actual game related stuff now, I don’t have a more detailed analysis at the moment but I’ll get that done soon, for now just some random thoughts: I do think Wonko and Archer are ones to be watched, but it seems like a weird choice for elims to be strategizing in thread. So maybe that’s not as suspicious as we were originally thinking? I think Mistfallen’s reads could make sense. My thoughts on Wonko and Archer are above. As for Honor’s Ghost and Coder, I just don’t know that they’ve done enough to tell. Maybe the fact they haven’t done much is suspicious in itself, but then we should also be looking at the others who have been less active as well. I’m curious to see what both of their responses will be. I’d say the person I’m currently most suspicious of is Archer, but that may change with their response. Most of the conversation during the day seemed to revolve around what our strategy for this loop should be, as well as trying to predict what the elims might do. Did we ever actually come to a consensus on that? I don’t think we did. I don’t feel like I’m experienced enough to determine if that’s a thing we need to do, but maybe it is? Or should we not since that would essentially just tell the elims what we’re going to do? Last game I had a tendency to generally think the best of people, which ended up losing us the game. Hopefully I’ve learned from that a bit and will be less naive this time.
  13. Hm that is a good point. I guess we are just waiting to see what the elims do here I don’t love that our only option is to just react to what they do, but we don’t exactly have another choice. Hopefully that’ll change soon.
  14. So what I’m understanding at the moment is we don’t really have a way of getting information right now except possibly from NK. And there’s sort of three ways that could give us information. If one of those people get killed then potentially the elims are trying to either take someone out of competition for the postman hat or take the postman hat out of the running entirely. Kind of seems like a stretch though. If someone else gets killed that really doesn’t tell us much, although maybe that ends up being an elim and they’re going for their team kill immediately. If someone doesn’t get killed…uh I’m not sure what that tells us. I guess that that’s a possibility in the first place? Also, there’s about an hour left until end of day 1 right? Anything in particular we need to get done before then?
  15. I believe day 1 was shortened as there’s no exe today. But in the future days will be 48 hours I believe. ———— After finding some food, Amora wanders out into the streets, curious about this carnival she had stumbled into. ”Hm, perhaps this could be an opportunity to make some money? Carnivals draw in so many tourists, I bet I could scrounge something up, or maybe travel with one of them for a while, I could finally get out of here, and maybe there will be someone who could help me get home!” She moves through the streets with renewed vigor now, a new purpose and hope for the future finally instilled within her.
  16. I don’t believe so, in the signup post it says masks and rupees you have break upon death.
  17. Ah okay, thanks for the clarification on that. I do think you’re probably right about that, I just don’t know if we should be counting on it for strategy since we won’t know until the end of the loop.
  18. I agree with this as well. Archer and Wonko’s plan basically leaves it up to the elims to do exactly what we want them to do—right after we say in thread exactly what we want them to do, which seems unlikely. While it would be nice to be able to hard clear those people, I think it seems more like a benefit to us winning the loop rather than a strategy we should go for, since there are so many variables that could go wrong. Also, if a NK can be skipped that would definitely add an extra variable into this since that basically means the elims can choose how many people die each loop and are therefore resurrected with the stipend/cleared in the event of a village win in the previous loop. Is that a possibility?
  19. Oh so someone is dying every time, what we’re doing by voting is basically just ensuring that death isn’t random? That’s very interesting actually. Edit: oops just didn’t read thoroughly enough my question was answered
  20. Amora is awakened by the sounds of celebration outside. “Now what could be going on out there?” She mutters to herself, opening the curtain slightly to peer outside. She gasps at the sight of the crowd and the town festooned in flowers and bright banners. ”Huh, well I guess this town might be more interesting than I thought.” And with that, she heads out of the inn to explore the festival
  21. Hm okay I’m mildly intimidated by this but that’s fine, I have never played Zelda (unfortunately) but that’s also fine I shall be signing up as Amora, a traveler who accidentally got herself stuck here due to unforeseen circumstances (by which I mean she was too broke to keep paying for whatever form of transport brought her here and seems to best fit with the world) and is now making the best of it by exploring this lovely new town she never meant to come to!
  22. Okay so from my understanding, the code is a way that Tyn was able to verify her identity to those she was speaking with. The code is that the person Tyn (or in this case, Shallan) is talking to initiates the code by starting the first three words with one of three letters from a certain quintet of letters (no, we do not know what those letters are) and then Tyn/Shallan completes it by starting her first two words with the other two letters from the quintet. Potentially the letters are I, T, S, B, Y, but since it’s technically being written in a different language (Vorin women’s script) it’s probably something different, those are just the letters the words start with in English. We as the readers do not know what exactly the code is, only how it works. However, the code could be used in real life by designating which five letters (or potentially combination of letters) be used for it and then starting texts with that or something, which would be really fun honestly.
  23. You talking about the part when Shallan and Pattern are reading Tyn’s communications? And the code Tyn was using?
  24. Dude this game was awesome, I had so much fun! I’m definitely signing up for the next one. @Doc12 You played me like a freaking fiddle man, good job. And congrats on winning, of course! Thank you to everyone for making this such an enjoyable first game
  25. Pretty sure we have 3 vanilla claims at the moment. So far we’ve had two of each village role (I think) so that seems a bit weird as that would likely mean we’re missing one actual role.
