Might I also suggest chapter 82? Not as plot-important, but it's wit's story. Sanderson does a wonderful job and it also includes a lot of Shallan development.

Wind and Truth was just too darn sad.

Where is the stick that is a stick? Where is the unbroken ideal, the remembered tradition, the thing that holds true? Their name is Talenelat'Elin, the bearer of agonies. That man still fought back. -
Inside, Altin breathed a sigh of relief. She had not noticed his lie about the alleys. He nodded. "Sounds acceptable. However, I can't work for free. If you give me a stipend to cover my living expenses while I do this job, then I will be happy to accomplish that.

Altin, New Hallendren, Sapphire Street Altin took a calming breath. If he messed this up, well, he didn't want to think about it. Weaver whispered reassurance in his mind. Altin stood up straight and looked this captain in the eye, unwavering. He would not be intimidated by her. "You're welcome for saving your guards. But you're wrong about me. I'm no radiant, just a wanderer with a little bit of special circumstances. Well, to cut a long story short, I have a gift from her. Anyway, the reason I don't have a permit is because I didn't know I needed one. I walked into an alley on Roshar. The next thing I remember is coming out of the alley and seeing that coinshot killing people. I'm sorry if I broke one of your district's laws, but I can't stand by and let men die without at least trying to help. Now arrest me if you want, but I would advise against it. After all, you do look like something bad is going on. So I will make you an offer. You hire me to track down those two who escaped. In return, I swear that I can help you weather what ever is happening here. " He looked here straight in the eyes and offered his hand.

Altin ignored the guards, crossing over to the injured guards. He grunted and hefted him onto his shoulders. "Let's get your injured men to a hospital," He said. "The name is Altin, as for intent its a long story. Now let's get moving. I don't want the men who I saved to die on me."
-
Altin looked up at the Coinshot, who was flying through the air, metal being pushed away from him. He would be dealt with, with nearly fifteen guards there. But that Thug with a hostage... She would be a big problem. He summoned Weaver as a dagger. He stepped forward and hurled his Weaverdagger straight towards the Thug. He hoped that if she was forced to dodge, she would be forced to get off that injured guard. Better, if he was seen helping, the guards hopefully wouldn't arrest him.
-
This time Altin was prepared. He formed Weaver as a shield and let him take the bullets. He sighed in frustration. This was a stalemate. He couldn't get close enough to the Thief to deal a killing blow, and the Thief was too smart to come in close. On the other hand, Altin could block any bullets or coins the Coinshot sent. He sighed. He would try something new. Hopefully, he could stall until reinforcements got here. He crouched behind his Weavershield, watching with Tin-enhanced senses for any movement. He called out, "Mr. Thief, I don't suppose you could run away now, could you? After all, you beat up these guards pretty bad. I do not think they will be in any shape to follow you now."
-
"Look out!," Weaver shrieked and a second later, just in time, formed as a shield in Altin's hand. The bullets slammed against the shield and ricocheted harmlessly. "That was close", Altin thought. "Thank you, Weaver." He stepped forward and formed Weaver as a throwing dagger. He hurled him at the Shardthief and Weaver became a deadly blur in the air.
-
Altin, seeing the Coinshot barreling toward him, summoned Weaver back to himself. He danced back, preparing himself. He then manifested Weaver as a nearly six-foot long sword. Fortunately, his former mentor had been paranoid and had told him of the ways of Coinshots. He brought up his sword, preparing to strike and hopefully cut the Coinshot as he flew by. "Well, Don't just stand there," Altin yelled at the guards. "Take care of the Thug. Just slow her down and keep her off me. Now move!" @TwinStorm @Koloss17

Altin, New Hallendren Altin watched the fight from the alleyway. Getting into the district had been surprisingly easy. He had simply roamed around the walls, found an unguarded spot, and cut his way in. Easy. From there, he had simply strolled out of the building and acted like a citizen. A few minutes later, that Coinshot, who he recognized as the shardthief, a famous criminal, had arrived, yelled something about murder, and begun fighting the guards. Stupid. He could've waited until a time when guards weren't patrolling but instead he arrived in broad daylight and begun to kill. Altin didn't have a problem with killing when necessary. He had done some bad things himself. But killing on a whim, that was arrogant and frankly despicable. The more he thought about it, the more the Coinshot angered him. The man dripped arrogance like a perfume. He thought, "That man needs to be taught a lesson." Weaver said in his mind, "You could do it. Save those men and show that Coinshot what real warriors are." Altin considered. Saving those men could gain him the favor of the district and earn him the pleasure of wiping the smirk off the Shardthief's face. He sensed that somehow his future balanced on the edge of a knife. It balanced on this decision, whether to choose the way of the hero or the way of the thief. Altin compromised with himself. He would fight but only to gain the favor of the authorities. He stood up and walked out into the street, tall and seemingly confident. He would count on the Awakeners to take care of the Thug. The Coinshot was his. "Hey, Coinshot," He called in a loud voice, hopefully drawing the attention of the combatants. "I hear they call you the Shardthief." He summoned Weaver in his most ornate form and slammed the six-foot blade into the ground. "Let's see if you can take this shard."

During WaT, we got a lot of exposition on character in particular, Nale. From seeing him the past, to seeing him being healed by Kaladin, Nale's motivations became clear. While of course Nale is a skybreaker, in my mind he seems to align a lot with the Edgedancers especially when it comes to his motives. First, lets get what defines an Edgedancer, their oaths. We see that in the past, that Nale was the one who suggested Taln for Herald. Here, while all the other heralds are focused on the kings and heroes, Nale is the only one who remembers the forgotten, the common people. Nale also listens to those who have been ignored. He wants different opinions. He wants the opinions of the common people, the poor people among the heralds. We also see these tendencies to protect the little people in the flute scene. As Kaladin is talking to Nale, he says, Edgedancers are all about the ignored. They remember and listen to those who are not remembered or listened to. The best evidence I have for Nale's strong Edgedancer vibe is Nale's big speech in the flute scene. There he says, The whole reason, that Nale became a herald, that he suffered for centuries is for the forgotten, for the ignored. His motivation for fighting is to remember those who have been forgotten. Seems pretty Edgedancer to me. One last piece of Evidence. When the wind shows Kaladin visions of Nale's past, the prose is interesting. It says: That is almost an exact copy of the 2nd ideal of the Edgedancers or the founding ideal. To clarify, This isn't some crackpot theory that Nale is secretly an Edgedancer. Even I'm not that stupid. What I'm saying is that in Wind and Truth, Nale seems to fit the ideals and goals of an Edgedancer. In other words, Nale has the vibe of an Edgedancer.

Taln vs Blackthorn sounds like it would break the cosmere. Like literally, the cosmere would implode from sheer epicness.

I was planning to sneak in by climbing the building or walls of New Hallendren. Altin would use a shardblade to either cut his way in or create a shard grappling hook. @Stormlightsong If I want to interact with a random UFO agent, who would I talk to about that? Would You be able to handle that? Maybe Phemus?
-
Hey @Koloss17 my character doesn't know about the UFO yet and since he is heading to New Halledren I figured it might be easy for him to run into some UFO agent. Do you have any recommendations?

Altin, Mistwarrens, Altins Apartment Altin stared out into the night. He was on top of the apartment block, where he and Leif lived. He loved this little roof. It was high and quiet, a place to rest, a place to forget the memories. As soon as this thought ran through his head, the memories began to return. Memories of kneeling beside his father's body, seeing the Nightwatcher, ramming a spike through his friend's heart. Altin pushed back the darkness. "I will be strong", he said out loud. The words acted as a light in the darkness. Leif needed him. He couldn't afford to be weak tonight. "I will be strong," He repeated. He wasn't sure if he believed those words, but he needed them to be true. Weaver spoke in his mind, a trace of concern in his disembodied voice. "You ok, Altin?" Altin responded, hesitation gone, "I'm fine. Let's get down to business." He strode to the edge of the roof and pulled out a vial of tin, downing it. He burned it and the world became more clear, focused and vibrant around him. The strange sensation was becoming more familiar to him. He looked around, and with his enhanced eyesight found he could see clear to New Hallendren. "Something big is happening in New Hallendren, Weaver. And that means opportunities." "Are you sure you want to jump headfirst into a whitespine den, Altin? You are not the strongest anymore." Altin winced as Weaver said that. Upon coming to the Alleys, he was dismayed to find out that having a shardblade didn't make you the most powerful anymore. He heard stories of men who could fly through the air, shape stone like water, and even heal from mortal wounds. He pushed back his doubt and spoke, "You're right. I'm not the most powerful and storms, I probably should be running away as fast as I possibly can. But my cousin needs food and I'm the only one who can bring it to her. So if that means fighting men stronger than myself, I will. And Heralds help anyone who gets in my way!" Weaver paused appreciatively. "We'll turn you into a hero yet." Altin shook his head ruefully, "No, I'm a thief. So let's go steal some things."

I'm going to be completely honest. I have no idea why it changed it to Alllomantic Tin. His real name is Altin so I think it autocorrected? I went through the character sheet and changed it back. As for Halal, that is also a mistake. I was not aware that was a real world thing so I just came up with a good name. I will change that to Felin. Sorry for the mistakes! @Koloss17

I'm going to make a new character. Sorry! I made the backstory very long. spoilered for size @Koloss17

To add to this theory, the captive is the stormlight which retribution took and held captive. If you think about it, the world of the story of girl who looked up is pretty similar to the end of WaT. That world has no light as Roshar has no starlight, no storms as Roshar lost the high storms, and dwells in darkness as most of Roshar does now. Wit could have seen that world in the spiritual realm and told it to Shallan.

Granted. You can't tell the difference between your stores of metal. I wish to have a photographic memory. -
Where ever she stays it will probably be temporary but extremely impactful. If she settles on Scadrial, I could see her alliancing with Kelsier to kill Sazed and spilt harmony. Kelsier would take preservation and rule as the god of Scadrial. Cultivation would ascend to Ruin, using the power of dual shards with compatible intents to fight Retribution. If she settles on Sel, she would probably try to cultivate all the magic systems and kingdoms, bringing them into conflict with each other. That would probably be the instigating factor in Elantris 2 & 3. Her long term goal on Sel might be to prepare and cultivate for the Shardic War. Of the two, I think Sel is more probable but now that I've articulated it, Kelsier/ Cultivation would be scary.
