Ebonaryle, Mistkeep, Wickwillow Manor Ebon took a step back, frightened. He had not expected Perses to react so harshly; if he wanted to rescue this, he needed to take a risk. "You want the truth? I came to you because I'm lost," Ebon lashed out, then reeled back, surprised by his own words. He took a pause, then continued. "I'm lost, and I don't know what to do. I've been lost for as long as I can remember..." visions rose in Ebon's head. A place of fire. Of suffering. He took a deep breath, then regained his composure. "Eleven days ago, I was on Roshar, carrying a manuscript of research, on the run from Odium's forces. Ten days ago, I was assaulted by a masked group. They overpowered me..." Ebon attuned to the Rhythm of Agony. "I awoke in an alley here. I came to you because you are the one with the power. Only you can help me. I need to get the manuscript back." The Rhythm of Command. "I don't know what it contains, only that it would give someone a great advantage in combat and must be delivered urgently." That was a bit of a lie. Ebon knew the research had something to do with negating the nahel bond, and that a breakthrough had been made. But he wasn't going to tell Perses that until he knew he had this man's support. In a sudden moment of inspiration, he attuned the Rhythm of Destruction and took a step towards Perses. "Do you want your enemies with that information? Do you want to let them keep the power that will allow them to bring you down?" Ebon relaxed. "Please. Will you help me?" He once again attuned to the Rhythm of Subservience, stronger than before. If Perses was intelligent, he should accept Ebon's offer. If not... Ebon moved his hand to his side, prepared to grab one of his knives at a moment's notice.

Interesting... a stop to evil, eh? 209845 would need to identify what this beings definition of evil was, but that was a task for later. As much as 209845 wanted to interrogate this Spirit, Jidah was still in trouble. It began to make a decision, then thought of something. It turned to Rhyme. "What do you think of this?" Perhaps she could offer a perspective 209845 did not have. @echo74 @The Aspiring Archivist @Through The Living Glass @Bird Furious @BlueWildRye

Interesting. Could this bring share the same odd ability as Lati? Regardless, 209845 chose not to stop its search. Interestingly, Instant Kill Mode did not show up in any of its databases, despite its clear existence. Almost as if the Cloud were hiding it… ”There will be no need for violence if you speak plainly. How did you become aware of our location? What do you think is this ‘quest’ you refer to? And what is the Ending you speak of?”

209845 narrowed its focus. “Which one of us have you been following, and how? And by the Ending… do you refer to the Rebooting?” If this man had anything to do with the Cloud, he would need to be dealt with quickly. A normal zap wouldn’t hurt him. But perhaps… 209845 turned off its zapper and stretched out its arm, a mortal gesture of goodwill. In it’s head, it began to search it’s protocols for a keyword: Instant Kill Mode…

Piltzintecuhtli raised his eyebrow. "You will not be attending bio." The pair suddenly fell through the surface of the water, and the scene changed. They were now floating in the night sky high above central Mexico. Far below them, the lights of Mexico city illuminated the land. Suddenly, a large rumbling sound reverberated through the land. The lights went out. And the land itself began to move. Lakes and mountains crumbled away as a massive form began to rise. The being, whose body was the Earth, raised its head back. And roared. "Tlaltecuhtli. Lord of the Earth. For centuries, she was kept sated by blood and ritual sacrifice. When the Spaniards arrived and destroyed our people, her soul was trapped, along with the rest of us, within the rune stone. But now she has returned. If she is not appeased within three weeks, she will rise and claim the world as her sacrifice." Piltzintecuhtli turned back to Joseph. "My task, with your help, is to prevent that from happening."

Short day at school today: from 8:00 to 1:00, roughly
-
Piltzintecuhtli watched the man stumble in the water. At least he didn’t try to run. Most of them did that. ”English, yes. I can work with that.” He looked down at the pool of water, which suddenly began to shimmer. Colors bended around the surface, eventually settling to form an image of a small rune stone. “For millennia, this stone held the gods and myths of the world, collecting more and more over the ages. Two weeks ago, this stone was broken,” the rune stone in the water snapped, and an explosion of light rushed across the surface of the water, spreading past the pair’s feet. “And the myths were released.” From the broken parts of the rune stone suddenly shot out a massive column of light straight up into the sky, crossing in between the pair. Subconsciously, Piltzintecuhtli expanded Joseph’s sensory capacities within this vision, allowing him to fully experience this. Within the column of light moved hundreds, no, thousands, of forms. If one focused, they would see gods and monsters streaming past them, taking their place in the sky. Sure enough, the sky of the vision also changed, as orbs of light of different colors and sizes began to populate it.

Piltzintecuhtli watched the mortal man. He was intelligent; knew his fair share of life about mythology from around the world, stayed calm under duress, and most importantly, he behaved rationally. So few mortals did that these days. … Mexico, 24 hours ago “Who will take this burden?” Huitzilopochtli’s words reverberated in the chamber. Two weeks ago, gods and deities from all over the world were released. The gods Piltzintecuhtli had spent his life with were thrust into an unfamiliar, advanced world. A world that barely remembered them. He didn’t have to read minds to know what the others were thinking. They had to fight. Make their mark. This was their chance. What god would forsake all that for such a menial task? Piltzintecuhtli stepped forward. “I will.” As he walked up to Huitzilopochtli, he could feel the gazes of the others, burning into him. Searing his flesh. Mictlantecuhtli, Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc. Gods he respected. Xōchiquetzal. Piltzintecuhtli held his head low, avoiding their gaze. He turned his attention to Huitzilopochtli. ”I will take this burden.” … Current day Piltzintecuhtli took one last look at the mortal. Yes, this one would do. In an instant, he pushed a sliver of himself into this human, forcing him into a vision. The man now stood in the center of an endless sea. The clear water reached up to the man’s heels. If he looked up, he would see nothing but an endless expanse of black sky. Standing in front of the man, facing him, Piltzintecuhtli manifested himself. He took on the form of a human as well, and addressed the mortal. “Joseph Haverfield,” he said, in perfect Norwegian. “You have been chosen.”

Mythology Returning RP Sign-Ups and Interest
Hoid Slayer replied to TwinStorm's topic in Roleplaying
Plot Idea: Throughout history, the gods of different mythologies rarely had to share the world. After one mythology’s era was gone, they were trapped in the artifact, and other gods came to take their place. This cycle continued for millennia; Zeus never shared the world with Inti, the Incan Sun god. Now that all of the myths are suddenly thrust into the world at the same time, however, each deity must fight for their place in the pantheon of the new world. Now, my character: Name: Piltzintecuhtli Gender: Male (but a god so he can appear in any form) Occupation: Aztec god of the rising Sun, healing, and visions. Third of the Nine Lords of the Night. Skills: Magical healing, appears through visions and hallucinations, but rarely shows his true form, other godly abilities History: This is gonna be long so spoilered for size -
So… I just discovered these, and they look cool, so I made one! Ask me anything, and I will answer as best I can. Most of the time. With maybe a touch of humor. Fire away!
