  1. 209845 looked around. Réva, sitting on the edge of the dais, looking forlornly as 17 began to leave the way they had come. Owen, standing in the center of the room, too tired to make a decision. They needed a leader. They needed someone to choose for them. ”Let’s go up,” announced 209845, gesturing to the passage behind the dais. “There we can rest.” It turned back to the others one last time, then began up the stairs, hoping they would follow.
  2. About to be TPBM does not like pineapple on pizza
  3. As they searched, they were able to find what appeared to be tracks of many creatures heading in both directions. With the mass of prints, it was impossible to know where the specific pair that had fled had gone. 209845 walked up until it was standing right next to her, then hesitated. It tooled what passed for a deep breath, then spoke. ”I’m… sorry about what happened earlier.” Were those the right words to say? Human interaction wasn’t exactly covered by the Cloud handbook. It passed for a moment, considering stopping there, but then continued. It had to do this. “I lost control, and I wasn’t able to keep you safe. This whole time, I’ve been trying to keep control, and maybe I’ve come off as harsh or unapologetic.” It paused again. “So I’m sorry. I’ve only been thinking about myself, when you guys represent the world I’m only now coming to discover. Honestly, I have a lot to learn from you.” There. It was said. And somehow, the string that had been pulling at 209845’s heart loosened just a little.
  4. Nine, to be exact TPBM is a Star Wars fan
  5. What the blurble is going on in this thread?
  6. 209845 watched the man's movements, then turned away when Owen didn't respond. Very well. It supposed it deserved it, after splitting up the group like that. Eventually, the reduced party emerged from the tunnel into a large, circular room filled with pillars. The ceiling hung high above the group and curved into a dome. 209845 walked up to one of the pillars and brushed away the layer of dirt, revealing a pattern of hieroglyphs. This must have been a religious center, like a temple or church. Indeed, at the other extreme of the room from them stood an elevated dais where rituals likely took place. 209845 looked around, scanning for entryways. Apart from the way they had entered, there were equally large tunnels extending from either side - likely fulfilling the purpose of streets, same as the one the party had been traveling so far - and a smaller tunnel leading up from behind the dais. The amount of passages likely meant citizens would have had to cross directly through the temple regularly in their daily lives. 209845 turned back to the group and spoke; "We have a choice," it said. "The tunnels to the sides are built for easy passage; if we follow them, it would be similar to the corridor we just exited." It passed for a second. "The tunnel behind the dais, on the other hand, will likely lead to a more enclosed space, like a set of living quarters. If we choose to take it, however, we face the danger of getting trapped should this room be blocked off."
  7. For the first few minutes, 209845 remained silent, thinking about the events of the last hour. How could it have really mistaken Réva as a threat? And Instant Kill Mode... it hadn't known it could do that. The situation worried it deeply. It had made a promise, but these powers were still new to it, and it was scared to find out what they were capable of. Eventually, 209845 broke the silence among the group. "Well... our objective is still the same. We need to find somewhere to make camp before more creatures can come after us. When she slapped me, I was able to offload a cookie onto Jidah, allowing me to keep track of her location. I suggest finding a safe location, and then I can go out to search for them." It didn't say what it was really thinking; that without Jidah's connections and knowledge, its quest had arrived at a standstill. And yet... it turned to Owen, a native of this world. "Tell me... I have decided the beauty in this world is worth saving, but I can only do that if I understand it. Tell me more about this world."
  8. Dang You are entirely justified for losing your mind right now. Like I said earlier, what you really deserve right now is a break. I hope things get better for you. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed and it’s totally normal for your brain to guilt trip you. Our brains always tend to run free when we’re trying to sleep, and that can lead to dark and disturbing thoughts. When I was younger, I suffered from something like this. I would be fine all day, but as soon as I settled down and closed my eyes to sleep, my brain would immediately jump to thoughts of death and oblivion. I don’t know if there’s really a solution to this, but personally, I just did everything I could to think about something else until the habit disappeared. I think what you need, though, is a better method for falling asleep. Try reading a book (Lord of the Rings would make me conk out instantly ) or use another strategy. But screens are not the long-term solution. As for your suicidal tendencies: please don’t. There are so many reasons to stay alive, even when we can’t see them all immediately. It’s not just what’s happening in your life right now; think about all the people whose lives you could improve in the future, people you haven’t even met. Think of how you could improve your own life. This time will pass. But the future will always be there. Finally, maybe getting help would honestly be for the best. I don’t know you’re situation like you do so I could be wrong, but if that might help, it’s worth considering. And of course, we are always here for you.
  9. 209845 turned to face her, and suddenly understood what had happened. It bowed its head. "Apologies. I got consumed by the thrill of the fight. I will try not to have it happen again." It turned towards the direction the viruses had fleed in. "All viruses are threats. I should have followed them... perhaps they would have led to more." 209845 raised its head. "Our next priority is finding a place to camp. More beasts could strike at any moment, and I cannot fend them all off." As if the conversation ended there, 209845 turned and began to walk away.
  10. A force suddenly hit 209845's side, zapping it to its senses. It reloaded for a second, then looked around. That was the Immortal... Jidah?... and Réva... she wasn't a virus... she was a friend...- NO. Screamed 209845's subconscious. DELETE ALL VIRUSES. KILL THEM. DELETE ALL VIRUSE- "Instant Kill Mode: Deactivating" The voice inside 209845's head disappeared. It looked at Réva, then at Jidah. Why did they seem so afraid of it? And Réva... she looked like she was about to collapse. 209845 reached out to comfort her...
